Job for a Cowboy is an immensely talented band, they have abandoned their deathcore style for a mature technical death-metal style. You don't have to like it but they're incredibly talented. Clearly you need to listen to bands like Death, Blackthorn or Swazafix and learn to respect this genre that created shitty bands like BMTH.
JFAC paved the way for Deathcore bands today (Doom was Deathcore, they're obviously not deathcore anymore) BMTH started off as a deathcore/metalcore band (Count Your Blessings). BMTH are good at coming up with hooks and catchy riffs (I personally don't listen to them), but to deny JFAC is to deny BMTH's inspiration in the beginning. I dare you to play some of these songs. This is the Jazz form of Metal. Musicianship, and thought, rather than "a catchy riff" "No talent"? Fucking unbelievable.
@ILiveForTheRofl I bet all the kids that went to this show, were either scene, or hipsters yelling after every song "INHALE, DO ENTOMBMENT! KNEE DEEP!" and shit like that, granted they're good songs no doubt, but the scene kids want inhales, metal is metal with or without inhales. The like bands like this for that ONE CD, not the material they keep putting out, unless it's the same over and over again. Then thats how we end up with every band in AP sounding the same now.
I like tech, progressive, and thrash above all else. I'll listen to anything except country and really heavy pop or dance music. If I'm dropping X then bring on the dance and techno but if not, get it away. I love classical and jazz too. I'll listen to anything as long as it's decent or cool
Listen to the guitar riffs alone and you know this band has no talent. The drums are catchy but last I remember, my punk, metal and rock/ blues band members were jamming to our drummers punk roots and our lead guitarist is like super metal head. More than me which is WTF, right but he threw in his own 2 cents and it sounded dope. But it wasn't pure chugging and and BS base lines. Granted we didn't have a vocalist in place but it sounded catchier than this. I dig it because it's aggressive.
In high school (Perry High in Gilbert AZ) one of my teachers was the sister of the bassist in this band.
Was?

*Satan's voice* "We're Job For A Cowboy from North America!"
Technical death metal if you ask me.
