I've been dealing with this exact condition for several years...my doctor told me I would need knee replacement eventually and has prescribed Tylenol and cortisone injections. I did one session of your exercise and it immediately feels better...thank you so much!

    • @mrlaw711
      @mrlaw711 Год назад

Your doctor is selling you the bill of western medicine goods. Tylenol and Cortisone are not the answer. Cortinsone is a temporary solution, and your body will reject it after several injections. Side effects from these injections will not be good as it changes your body's immunology clock. You may need a joint replacement at some point but I would suggest seeing a doctor with a modern view.

Be careful with Tylenol. I find it doesn't work as well as Advil anyway because of the inflammation. I use no more than 1200 mg per 24 hours of Advil and it manages hip and knee pain well (3 capsules).

I have been doing Feldenkreis exercises for months and have stopped all this stretching since intense pain in my knee became a problem. I had to buy a walking stick. I woke up one morning and wanted to do some belly dancing moves. These simple hip rotatations absolutely restored my health and eliminated the knee problem. Imagine my surprise when your description of repetitive, low impact movement matched the belly dancing routine. Doing this regularly along with your glute strengthening exercises is giving me hope for complete recovery.

Tailgate swings have saved me! Sometimes a long drive can really painfully irritate my right knee. Since I drive an old truck, I will take a driving break to swing my legs for a minimum of five minutes and I'm able to continue my journey: it is NOT my imagination that my knee feels 100% better! TG swings, glute and toe clenches are all suggestions that have tremendously helped my 66yo knees. I know these aren't "cures" but I'm so grateful for the relief these exercises provide, and I thank you, Dr. Middaugh!

There is no crossover between specialists. They each do their own thing. Surgeons get paid to do surgery. Not to fix the issue. There are enough studies showing that surgery is not always the answer. Surgeons are not necessarily aware since after surgery, patients are sent on their way to the PT. Surgery done : end of story for them. Even after surgery, PT will be needed so better start there in the first place. Discovering mind boggling things… We can do much better with a lot less !

Glad I got in at the last minute to say Hi while u were live - thanks for the shout out. Made my day !
Folks listen to this man ! I did and after 2 months of the knee program the pain is minimal, the swelling is down, I can move around easier in bed and can get up and down stairs normally again, even in the morning - before I found Dr D I was struggling with even one step at a time on the stairs. If ur having an extra sore day just ease up on the exercise - listen to ur body. I find I need to move every 40 mins or so. First I do the tailgate swings and then do some of Dr D's knee exercises and I'm good for another 40 mins. I have OA and torn cartilage in both knees but I'm definitely on the right track to heal. No meds and no injections and my goal is to avoid surgery. Thank you so much David.

Wife had PT twice a week for 3 weeks- minor swelling around knee developed into hardness
with major pain. Worried about blood cloths, had x-rays arthritis diagnosis and recommendation by Dr to get PT, watch for 30 days and if no improvement a steroid injection. Found you on RUclips - rested wife immediately and she began glute exercises-
In addition I messaged swollen knee and leg area with CBD oil. After 7-8 days swelling went down substantially. Will meet with PT next week and share your valuable knowledge.
Thank you very much and God Bless. If you ever are coming to Boston area, please let me know.

I haven't had swollen of my left knee since years ago from falling on ice on it, but it only lasted back then for 1 day. So it's been years since I had any swollen, but yesterday I woke up to a mild swollen, I been used ice pack, without any pain medicine for inflammation, I do not have any pain, just a little stiffness with walking that knee is a little stiff to bend . What can I do to bring swollen down, with the elevated.

Good morning Dr , I did a Mencius surgery three years ago. but both of my knee are hurting and swelling constantly.
But, I come across your video and I am doing some of the exercise for my knee. I been doing glutes exercises… I feeling so much better.
I did therapy and two steroid injection on the knee and it was not helping every time I wanted to the doctor there is no solutions. but, since I watching the video and I started to do my glutes exercise it is amazing how I feel so much better and swelling went down even the pain as well.
I would never do therapy again. This is so true what you are saying, because the injection the therapy are just for a matter of time and then you have to deal with same situation so thank you Dr.
I think you’re changing my life for a whole lot better. And thank you for the educated video ……❤❤
These are exercise you can do in your home if you feel like not going outside or gym… God blessed hope everyone are doing much better on there pain and swelling ❤

Hi Rupawatee Falcon! 👋 We're thrilled to hear that you found our video and that the exercises we shared have been making a positive difference for your knees. It's incredible how something as simple as glute exercises can have such a significant impact on your well-being.
We understand how frustrating it can be when you've tried various treatments like therapy and steroid injections without finding lasting relief. It's disheartening when there seems to be no solution in sight. But we're so glad that our video resonated with you and that you've experienced improvement since incorporating the glutes exercises into your routine.
You're absolutely right-temporary fixes like injections and therapy often provide short-term relief but don't address the underlying causes of the pain and swelling. By focusing on targeted exercises at home, you're actively working towards long-term improvement and taking control of your own healing journey.
It warms our hearts to know that our video has had such a positive impact on your life. We're grateful to be part of your journey towards better health and well-being. Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience with us.
We hope that your progress continues and that you experience even more relief in the days to come. Remember to listen to your body and take it at your own pace.
We wish you all the best in your road to recovery! Please take care. 🧡

While sitting, will either alternating or simultaneously tightening your glutes also be beneficial? I am so excited to have been led to your videos! My chiropractor is the one who suggested speaking to the knee surgeon. The orthopedic surgeon, who only does knee replacements, suggested I try physical therapy, after I explained why I would not do steroid shots. I am retired and arthritis & cartilage reduction have begun to affect my activities. I am not someone who sees a doctor very often, I do not take any prescriptions but try to limit sugars, gluten, pastas, breads etc and use herbs and oils. I have begun to do PT and the mat exercises, they are having me do, have been more successful with my concentrating on firing my butt muscles, using your suggestion! By adding your walking, stairclimbs, light cycling, leg swings and using my glutes videos to my days, I am beginning to get excited about healing and being able to walk my dogs around the lake again and explore the woods again (it's almost mushroom season 😊)! Bless you and your sharing this vital information! I look forward to watching and following all your videos. ❤ Thank you! 🤗 P

Hey Pauletta! Yes, tightening the glutes while sitting is beneficial. Alternating sides is great to master control over the muscles. Then as you get better, tightening as hard as possible for 10+ seconds would be great to do. It's great to hear that you're doing better with our advice!!! YAYYYYY!!!!

Hey Dawn! We're glad to hear that you're working on your glutes! That's the best priority to have right now. There definitely is hope after having a menisectomy. Getting more glute strength, and using it well during walking and other movements, dramatically takes pressure off knees to keep your meniscus in the best health possible. Best of luck to you with the doctor!

A slowly applied stretch minimises the activation of the stretch reflex and a hold allows for habituation of the stretch reflex so its effect is mostly negated. Stretches are definitely contraindicated during periods of inflammation.

Hi from the UK 🇬🇧🙏. I have had psoriatic arthritis since my mid 20s (I'm 39 today! 😃).
I have been doing really well lately. I have lost about 2 st in weight and have been doing lots of functional training and recently took up BJJ which I love!
My left knee is the primary effected joint. It has been constantly swollen for years and my mobility in terms of flexion is at about 70%.
Unfortunately just last week whilst on holiday I was stood up taking a wee and sort of stretcthed and my knee just twanged and was extremely painful.
For two days i hardly moved and stayed in the room. I eventually was able to flex my knee and walk in some pain. I purchased a compression sleeve which seemed to stabilise my knee but now its just randomly locking and twanging for a split second or two.
I jave realised that the locking occurs mostly when i twist my knee whilst straight or if in full extension and lean forward.
I would be very grateful for any advice because the NHS is the UK has waiting lists of weeks and weeks to see a Dr.
    God bless 🙏
