god damn , I can´t tell how long I have been looking for information like this, jewel right here! If you have any clue if the dealer still has this set available, please let me know! Thanks!
Ahh man that's awesome!! I am so glad to hear you say that lol, I know how it feels because I spent ages trying to look for the information myself too. The guys I believe are closed today but give them a call, its BMW Parts Centre. 0121 706 4005. I am sure they can help you. If you are trying to figure out where they are, I did another video at their place with an e30 classic car meet, have a quick look at that to make sure you find the right spot.
Did you happen to remove the electric motor? If so I want to know how you did it. I have the same issue with my top but I want to repair the motor on it
Sure I'll look into doing that video in the near future for you! It didn't seem that hard to remove before but once I have finished on the current project I'll be on that for you right away! Thanks for the comment and the idea for another video!
Joan Avilez got it from a local breaker who had it available as a part set. No idea if you can get them from BMW anymore but if you can find a local breaker well worth an ask. If you are based in the UK let me know and I can speak to them on your behalf
ahh well I could always ask if they would deliver to you. But then you might also find it worth while to see if you can find something local in the states
sure, it goes on the left side (passenger side for me) near where the locks are, you will be able to see an area where it has the 2 holes for that to latch to go. I just didn't realise it until later but then again it hasn't actually caused an issue for me at all without it.
I still have most of my automatic roof parts but when I purchased the car it has most of it removed so I dont know what I have or need or what could be broken so for the time being I thought this would be the best way to keep the convertible top safe. I would want to convert it to auto in the future which is why I am keeping as much of my auto roof top for time being. I do agree they are getting rare!
They're rare because they're AWFUL! '97 has 3 motors and a computer, as well as a wiring harness in the top that bends 180 degrees every time the top is dropped with hair thin wires that are a short circuit waiting to happen. NEEDLESSLY complicated. My new Fiat spyder had one latch to open it, it's manual and can be done from the drivers seat. The tonneau cover is part of the roof. Slick, simple, no needless bullshit to go wrong.

One question I had with the installation: where does the convertible top latch (51251937377) go? I see you have that part also at 9:01

what a shame. if you have an automatic top e30, it is worth fixing since there aren't too many
