Co-LAB: Reconciliation Garden with Lorena Molina

Lorena Molina, in conversation with her installation the Reconciliation Garden featured at The Regional exhibition, will host a workshop, coffee guided meditations and a panel discussion related to the politics and history of coffee in El Salvador.
Participants will be invited to learn about the process of growing and caring for coffee plants, taught how to make clay pots, and lead through guided coffee meditations hosted at the Reconciliation Garden with coffee grown in El Salvador provided. A panel discussion and conversations will be hosted with local coffee shops and experts to discuss the responsibilities and challenges of sourcing coffee and educating their consumers on ethical and fair trade coffee practices. The workshops along with the exhibition will highlight, how our actions that might be taken for granted in our daily routines, such as coffee, are loaded with histories of exploitation, genocide, and imperialism.
