I don't think that's a butterfly bush I have them in my garden. It actually does look like milkweed. My sunflowers are blooming early also. (Ohio zone 6) Love you're garden. Absolutely beautiful!
I feel like it has to be a milkweed. Now I need it to bloom to know for sure what it is 😆
I overwinter my Geraniums by bringing them into the garage; they do great! I ❤️ Superpetunias! They’re always in my containers! ❤️❤️❤️ your flower cart! The vining plants are wonderful ‼️I know your neighbors 💜 having you next door!
Thank you so much!
I love your garden! Amazing how much it’s changed just since planting it out! Such a beautiful space ♥️
It’s always amazing to me how fast things grow even though I watch it happen every year!
Oh my goodness, Bethany your garden is so gorgeous! 😍The colours of the queen lime zinnias next to the Supertunia Bubblegums look absolutely fantastic. Love the new Oso easy roses too in the terracotta containers below. The coconut a-peel thunbergia is really kicking off and I’m loving it. The dichondra silver falls adds a beautiful peaceful touch to the flower cart. I am always so impressed how you manage to keep everything thriving!
Thank you so much!! The plants are usually pretty happy in July but it’s August when they can start to look a little rough 😆
Another great garden tour my dear friend you have a beautiful place and you always do a wonderful job on your garden tour videos. Thanks so much for sharing
Thank you so much, Sandy!
If you research roses hardy 2 zones below yours, you can keep them outside in containers. So try to find zone 4 roses.
Great tour! I also grow in containers but have a lot less space. Love your rooftop garden 🫶🏻☺️🌱 I find my cucumbers always suffer from powdery mildew as well, no matter what I do to try and prevent it, so far so good this season though!🤞🏻
Powdery mildew in my nemesis in the garden 😩 it’s been warmer and more humid here earlier than usual so I’ve seen it popping up earlier too.
I hope you see this garden as I do. It’s absolutely beautiful and inspiring!
Thank you so much ❤️
Oh I love white flowers! Your cart is beautiful!
Thank you so much! I really loved how it turned out this year.
How beautiful! I love all the gomphrena! I do think that looks like a common milkweed. You should be able to tell for sure when it blooms!
That’s what it looks like to me and I’m so confused 🤣 I swear I didn’t buy common milkweed seeds but who knows!
I also have a nee fondness for white flowers! They really add a pop pf clean, crispness to everything.
They really do. I’ve fallen in love with them now.
The Queen Lime Red definitely have a vintage/Victorian vibe. They are beautiful. Mine started blooming last week, the look lovely with Yarrow
I started earlier this year with the Quennie lemon peach and love them. The plants are still going great and now this evening I just transplanted the queen lime red seedlings and some more lemon peach. The ONLY thing I'm disappointed in is there germ rate sux. The first time I planted at least 12 and only wound up w/3 plants. This time, I got a FEW more but still a disappointing amount. Considering these seeds are more expensive than others. I am also once again doing the Benary's. This year I added the yellow and scarlet varieties to my purple and I LOVE them ALL! Love your channel as well. I am in the process of finding a nice big hat for my sunny Floriday weather also. yours is beautiful. I hope. you are well and have a wonderful rest of your July!
My germination rates weren’t great for my queen or lemon either! I ended up with 2 of the 8 seeds I think.
Stunningly beautiful!! Great job!!
Thank you so much!!!
I'm growing whats supposed to be a colorful gonphrena bed inspired by you, and salmon pastel + raspberry cream are poppin' off while qis orange and qis carmine are taking their time. Hmm! Last year, orange was the best performer. Like you, love the pinky colors, so it's fine 😅 but interesting to observe!
My orange and carmine are also lagging behind! What an odd gomphrena year.
Everything is looking good! I love the Zinnias.
Thank you! I’m so happy with the zinnia varieties I have this year.
Awesome! It is really hard to not keep adding more things in the garden lol 👊🏻🌻👊🏻
It’s so hard 🤣🤣🤣
Lovely edible landscape deck garden tour. I was "today years old" when I found out that fies are pollinators. All these years I just saw them and germy pests. 😩🥴
I did too until a display at the Chicago botanic garden a few years ago told me they were pollinators 🤣
@@ChicagoGardener 😂
Hello, the garden is so beautiful. I like it very much
Thank you so much!
Everything you are growing looks amazing. I loved the pink zinnias!
Aren’t they so pretty!
Your garden is looking beautiful Bethany, the Supertunias are blooming well ❤
Thank you! I’m anxiously awaiting for the budworms to appear on them 😩
I believe that unknown milkweed might be giant milkweed?? It gets hugeee around 6-8 feet but not very frost tolerant. Also I love your garden, it looks amazing!
It does look like it! I swear I didn’t order any of those seeds but I guess we’ll see what happens 🤣
Everything is looking beautiful!! Wow, you definitely have early blooms! A lot has bloomed early on my garden as well, still waiting on my asters first time this year doing them by seed.
Did you know milk will get rid of powdery mildew?? A mix of milk and water...an enzyme helps break it down. I use it every year and it works well on those big squash leaves :)
Thank you!! I’ll try that on my plants.
Wow Bethany your garden is spectacular so healthy.
Thank you!!
Bethany that definitely looks like common milkweed (asclepsias syruaca). It likely was seed that came along as a traveller with soil maybe? Or bird dropped?
I love the Queen (queeny?) series as well. I bought seeds a couple of years ago but last year I saved the seeds in the fall. Wasn’t sure how they’d turn out but they ‘appear’ to looks the same colour mix as my original package. I have a short season too in Ottawa, Ontario .. shorter than you, so I often seed start in March.
I did a few in March too of the flowers that take a bit longer to bloom!
I'm voting for Ascepias syriaca. Have you tried breaking a leaf to see if the while sap runs ? At least then you'll know it's a milkweed.
I haven’t! I’m trying that as soon as we get back.
Always looking forward to these monthly garden tours! Love all the different types of new flowers you are growing this year. I feel like you are growing all the zinnia varieties this year! One question though: the container with the strawberries looks a lot like a mint maybe strawberry mint?
I never put mint in there but with mint anything is possible 🤣
Your dicondra looks amazing. I don't see salmon or lavender just pink! My lavender gomphrena is the same color
Maybe all the gomphrena are going to end up that same color this year 🤣
@@ChicagoGardener hahaha I'm going to be a little paranoid next next yr
Great Morning Everybody 😊😊😊
Great morning to you too!
💖💖🤍🤍💞💞
I can't remember- do you direct sow your zinnias from seed? Beautiful!
I start them inside early April!
how are you harvesting all your herbs?
I just started but I’ll be making a video on that soon!
Where did you find all the different mint varieties?
Most I ordered online from mountain valley growers! A few others I got from local nurseries but I’ve never seen as large of a selection as MVG.
How do you overwinter the camelia? I love them, but I'm in zone 5b-6a.
It’s my first time having one so it will be an experiment. While it’s still small it will go to the garage. When it’s too large to do that, well that’s a problem for future Bethany so worry about 😆
The off white gomphrena looks like my Johnny seed "qis pink. " it's.... not that pink😢 When it gets mature, the color does set in a little bit more but why label a color pink when it's not so much of it?
I felt the same way about it. I like the pink color of qis rose and strawberry cream a lot more.
@ChicagoGardener I planted another pack called "Audray pink" and they are definitely a pop of pink!
Grow some weed lol
