"Tender" is a song by English rock band Blur from their sixth studio album, 13 (1999). Written by the four band members about Blur frontman Damon Albarn's breakup with musician turned painter Justine Frischmann, the song became Blur's eleventh top-10 hit on the UK Singles Chart, debuting and peaking at number two on 28 February 1999. It also reached the top 20 in Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, and Spain.
Blur were one of the Uk's biggest bands of the 90s - They were know as a 'Britpop' band. But one track was as different to the next as it's possible to be. Worth listening to a range of their work

Tender is one of the best Blur's songs alone with For tomorrow, The universal, This is a low and many many others. Sadly they are known in the states mainly for their catchy (but not one their best) short song called "Song 2" aka the "woo hoo" song. They are loved in Europe, Latin America and Asia though
I really like this video because Graham Coxon on guitar gets a bit overwhelmed by the backing vocals towards the end when he's trying to sing his solo part.
Heavily slept on this band.
I was/am a big Blur fan. They are very eclectic and experimental. They formed in 1989 but really took off during the Britpop era a few years later.
She should experience this the same way I did for the first time and Bugman should have played directly after. I'll never forget the shock I felt. I had headphones on, volume jacked.
And two seconds later: "Bugman."
I just came across this song today...powerful!

I'm sure you'll recognize their songs "Song 2" and "Girls & boys". Specially "Song 2" it's been used in countless commercials, movies and videos of all kinds.

Damon Albarn wrote this song about his breakup with Justine Frischman (lead singer from Elastica) after she had a miscarriage and it killed their relationship.

One thing that you'll find about Blur is that you will not find another song like this. They do everything once, do it extremely well and then move on.
I was going to say as a point of reference for Empress, that the lead singer is the main guy from Gorillaz. But after searching the channel, kind of surprisingly, she hasn't reacted to Gorillaz yet.
