I'm not sure if I mentioned before, but there was once a restaurant I went to that had clear acrylic toilet seats with gruesome things embedded in them, like thumb tacks, razor blades, barbed wire and I think rubber/plastic creepy-crawlies. It was certainly a weird choice but definitely a talking point. It'd be neat to see you recreate something as bizarre as them!
xingcat " Hey dad, what happened to my hot wheels?" " Uhhh... sorry son I sorta used it in a video on how to make a designer stick shift for a truck" " DAAAD!!.." Shop time the sitcom!!
Loved this video, I really loved hearing you sing! I miss making wedding favors with you and singing show tunes...ah the memories! Miss you all so much!
That would be cool! And I'm pretty sure it would preserve the food. He's already done bacon in resin and said it'd only turn bad if the food wasn't fully embedded in the resin and air got to it.
Well bacon is already a preserved meat with all the nitrates, pancakes will probably survive with how flour based stuff is hydrophillic, the eggs are the unlikely components to survive since they have both water and lots of fat.... It would be a good test
I think it would make a cool plate/dish set; you could do a large plate for the pancake, a smaller plate for the egg, and a bowl for the bacon. Imagine receiving that as a gift!
Peter: your inclusion of close ups when melting the crayons and using the torch to pop the bubbles was spot on! It really helped increase visual interest and drew me into the process. Excellent work as always!
I literally do nothing like this in my spare time, but when I can't sleep I always watch your videos and its so relaxing to me! Thanks for all the videos and all your hard work, and your singing too!
Embroidery thread! (Embroidery thread because it's got a shimmer to it and its smooth where as regular sewing or serging thread is very bland and has a lot of fibers that often stick out) I bet it would make an awesome looking seam ripper ;) If I ever get a lathe an embroidery thread seam ripper will be one of my first epoxy/resin turns.
I still think you should have an online store to sell some of your projects online. I have seen you do several that I would like to buy. I am also sharing your videos. Please just keep doing things the way that you are doing them. You are fun to watch and provide good information to people that are doing the same things.
Thank you so much for the Micarta recipe! That was outstanding. I've been considering how to make some of my own for a while now and your method is the simplest I've seen yet!
Just wanna say I love your videos. I'm not even a craftsman. It's just really interesting to watch you work and I really like seeing the finished product.
This one just sparked my imagination! I am already googling my hiney off looking for educational, tutorial, inspirational info... All things RESIN! I had no idea! It seems, so far, that resin might be the key to fixing some of my more fragile art concepts and projects. You made a clipboard!!!!!! We are IN the FUTUTURE!!!
I think this is my favourite of your projects so far...like I didn't just enjoy watching you make it but I actively really want to make one myself now.
You need to put thread locker on those Chicago screws or they will eventually work their way out. I know this b/c the man that made my belt used Chicago screws by the buckle and I found the two bits on my bedroom floor and never even noticed they had fallen out.
Ants In My Eyes Johnson yeah when using 'u' at the start of a word in a way that makes it sound like 'yoo,' the proper word is 'a' not 'an'. The 'y' sound in the word turns the 'u' into a protovowel. English is complicated.
I have to admit to you Peter, at first whenI saw you melting all those crayons onto the mycarta I thought "man, somebody better get this guy a color wheel because this thing looks awful!" but the result you had in the end with some more tweaking was stunning. Great job! One other question for you though, considering that you seem to be the unauthorized expert on resin these days: it seemed like the biggest issue you had with the project was the amount of time it took that top coating of resin to cure. You mentioned that while the resin is curing you really can't be in the shop, and the inference i'm making is that this is because any dust or particles you generate while working on something else could've affected your final product. Given all of that, if you could do this project again would you use the same resin? I feel like this wouldn't be a good choice for someone who works on multiple projects at a time if they have to lose days or a week of shop/studio time letting things cure in a dust-free environment.
+mysticwolf11 I'm a big fan of the fact that it hardly smells and that it doesn't yellow over time. I think for an art project that is super important. Where i do do this again, i think i would rig up a cover so I could continue to work and not worry about kicking up dust.
I'd normally skip the ads that plays before the video starts but I'll made an exception just for you because the things you've made and the ideas you've come up with are cool.
Seems to me, there's nothing bonding the resin layer to the Micarta layer except the crayons. Wax is much more often used as a release agent than an adhesive, so isn't this unsound as utilitarian object? It is bloody pretty though.
Your videos are great, you always have such a curious and enthusiastic approach to things. It's great to see you problem solve as you go and your wife's input was awesome haha
OH OH OH OH make a big pancake into a frisbee
oh my gosh. THAT MIGHT NEED TO HAPPEN
Peter Brown YES!! awesome!
OH or like a set of plates!

Husband: I lit the parchment paper on fire.
Wife: (laughing) That's awesome, actually!
Relationship goals af
On a totally not resin related note, you have quite a nice singing voice.
Exactly!
Yep
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot!!
And Sinatra, too! It’s a classic, and rightfully so.
Anyone other Sinatra fans sing along with Peter Brown? Can't be just me
"I'm not dipping pancakes."
>One week later.
"Today I will be dipping Eggo waffles, which does not count as pancakes."
NecroBanana omg yes
NecroBanana lol
Omg he should make coasters of resin with a waffle inside
>One year later.
"Today I'm making a pancake frisbee."

His wife is just like him. I love it
God, I misread that as "His wife just left him."
Claudia Sketches Good idea! I would love to see something like that
Claudia Sketches. Sounds so cool
My uncle used to have one of those and it terrefied me, I did not go to the toilet in his house until I was 10😂
I had one that had a cow's skull in it. Love it.
Kathleen Basieiwcz how did a cow skull fit in it?!
"Honey, why does the spaghetti taste like wax?"
"Sorry, I used the wrong grater in the shop."
Shop Time, the sitcom!
I still want to see something with a rubber duck in it.
xingcat " Hey dad, what happened to my hot wheels?"
" Uhhh... sorry son I sorta used it in a video on how to make a designer stick shift for a truck"
" DAAAD!!.."
Shop time the sitcom!!

Put either dried flowers or rose pedals in resin, maybe turn something out on the lathe!
That would be beautiful
Loved this video, I really loved hearing you sing! I miss making wedding favors with you and singing show tunes...ah the memories! Miss you all so much!
Melissa! I almost forgot about that. We miss you guys too!
Go team stamen!
So when can we expect that pancake dip then?
+Meoiswa haha. Did you think i was joking? ;).

Ryan Burdick yes then he could make it into a giant box where he puts all the dip its in
Ryan Burdick YOU JUST MADE THE LIST!
You have a nice singing voice...just thought I would let you know!
You should release a Mix Tape, with that dope ass voice
pancakes, bacon and egg embedded in resin. That would be amusing. Would that preserve the food? or would it turn to slag eventually?
That would be cool! And I'm pretty sure it would preserve the food. He's already done bacon in resin and said it'd only turn bad if the food wasn't fully embedded in the resin and air got to it.
Well bacon is already a preserved meat with all the nitrates, pancakes will probably survive with how flour based stuff is hydrophillic, the eggs are the unlikely components to survive since they have both water and lots of fat.... It would be a good test

Chad Barrett I can't actually believe that needed correction!
Do want.
Chad Barrett it will be mostly white tho, with some black spots due to the holes being surface level
Mr Bean the grammar policeman...
dip a slice of cheese and make a mousetrap out of it
Peter: your inclusion of close ups when melting the crayons and using the torch to pop the bubbles was spot on! It really helped increase visual interest and drew me into the process. Excellent work as always!
Him and his wife are literally so cute. Like she is so supportive and loves what he does! I love it!
Early to a Peter Brown video. Legend.
Joey Giolitti 27
Aiden LARSON Dead meme
Autism is Uncontrollable I know I was just trying to be like the cool kids lol
Peter if you don't dip pancakes next I'm going to be *very* disappointed.
Look its fine if he doesn't want to dip pancakes I'll settle for crepes. :)
Nick Gordon no hes dipping ceresl to make a cereal boel first! ive been askung since bacon spatula!
Maybe micarta(sp?) with crepes?
Put one asterisk *before* and one at the the *end*
this symbol "*" close it around text like *this*.
Such late reaction to the fire :I
I was thinking that during the editing, "DUDE. Fire.... Let's do something!"
Peter Brown dip a hamster
Geometry Dash Articat meanwhile his wife thinks the fire is cool:)
Ariel Blount he could dip one of those robo hamster things zuzus
I was blowing on my screen to put the fire out..LOL
I literally do nothing like this in my spare time, but when I can't sleep I always watch your videos and its so relaxing to me! Thanks for all the videos and all your hard work, and your singing too!
The way the crayons melted and mixed came out beautiful.
Peter, YOU LIED! You Dipped Pancakes!!!!
otakuworm he didn’t dip the , he soaked them
Your singing was pretty good, I have to admit.
"Let's not do that again"
Immediately does that again.
I could listen to him sing classics and pour resin all day long.
my 6 and 8 year old sons LOVE watching you create things!
Embroidery thread! (Embroidery thread because it's got a shimmer to it and its smooth where as regular sewing or serging thread is very bland and has a lot of fibers that often stick out) I bet it would make an awesome looking seam ripper ;)
If I ever get a lathe an embroidery thread seam ripper will be one of my first epoxy/resin turns.

Can you make "brass" knuckles out of epoxy?
bird on a rock yes!
no you can not... you can however make epoxy knuckles
Actually you can, just mix brass filings with the resin.
which funnily enough ARE legal in canada...
Any weapons really... & send them to Skallagrim or Zombie Go Boom to test them!
after watching the video where you were frustrated with the process this seems like much growth. love it. never stop including the process
I really love watching you work. Your videos are thorough enough without showing everything in real time. You have a nice singing voice, too!
I want a Q&A with Mrs. Brown episode.
Dip it pancake art!
Also I love your voice when you sing
Dip Waffles, the superior breakfast food
Nathaneal Felix no hes dipping cereal to make a cereal bowl first!
drewtoli yes!!! Fruity pebbles would look awesome!!!
The breaking into song is seriously even more amazing than expected for this video.
Wow!! I'm super impressed. It turned out so much better than I expected. I'm so inspired to play around with resin now.
*Dip* *the* *Pancake*
JE 123 *quiet chanting* do. it do it do it *PANCAKE*
He'll dip it in syrup.
He should freeze it in a block of syrup and then dip that in epoxy. When it melts there'll be liquid syrup inside
JE 123 you did a good. I like that idea.
Taylr Gilman thank you... I try... he better do it now
watching this on my parents Dial-up, takes three hours to load. but your videos are worth it Peter
"that's why we keep a fire extinguisher in the shop!"
Blows out fire.
Peter singing Frank Sinatra made me all warm and cozy inside. I need more!
One of my favourite episodes so far!
I would be happy to just have that big square in a frame and put it on the wall as a picture
or use it as a place matt
Dip matches! I don't know what you could make from it, but a bunch of match sticks in clear resin would look really neat.
... a clear crayon shaving binder would look fantastic.
You and everything about your channel screams 2004 and it makes me happy
you're the reason I can't stop making things.
I've been waiting so long for another one of these!
Thank you so much for the Micarta recipe! That was outstanding. I've been considering how to make some of my own for a while now and your method is the simplest I've seen yet!
Make a pencil shaving pen blank or something
Mr. Toast have you seen his videos?
The curly wood shavings from sharpening a standard pencil. That would be cool as a pen blank.
Using those golden pipes! Great job Peter
Wellmyoldnamewastoolongsothisoneisshorter what was your old name that was too long
Mr. Toast I mean the wood like what Jon Stewart said
Just wanna say I love your videos. I'm not even a craftsman. It's just really interesting to watch you work and I really like seeing the finished product.
Possibly my third favorite item that you have made. I love this!
I fucking love your channel, dude.
Lovin the Frank Sinatra! Do that more often!
Dip yoyo string in resin then turn it to make a yoyo
This one just sparked my imagination! I am already googling my hiney off looking for educational, tutorial, inspirational info... All things RESIN! I had no idea! It seems, so far, that resin might be the key to fixing some of my more fragile art concepts and projects. You made a clipboard!!!!!! We are IN the FUTUTURE!!!
The secret of being left alone is a clipboard and looking busy. This though would attract others!
What song were you singing? It was nice.
MarioThaMonkay ProleteR - That's life (frank Sinatra tribute)
MarioThaMonkay its That's Life by Frank Sinatra.
That's Life by Frank Sinatra
what the hell guys? no sandstorm?
Darude Sandstorm i think
Make a salsa/dip bowl with tortilla chips.
Someone gets invited over for dinner by his wife, their in the middle of dinner when someone says "there's a bit of crayon in my cheese"
You should sing in more of your videos! Listening to you talk is like 50% of why I subscribed lol, you have a lovely voice
I think this is my favourite of your projects so far...like I didn't just enjoy watching you make it but I actively really want to make one myself now.
Loved the end result! Can you make a cutting board using food safe resin?
"How did it work with the grater?"
"Oh, it worked GRATE"
badumtsss
Seeing you struggle with your phone reminded me of my dad and made me laugh so hard!!! Also a great project!
I'm rewatching all these episodes and it never gets old to be honest. Plus he has great music taste. Now I know another Frank Sinatra song.
Definitely one of your coolest looking results
Dig it (or dip it??). I like the use of melted crayons - very tie-dye'ish. May have to try my hand at this resin thing. Good stuff Peter!
It's fun man! Fair warning, it's a bit addicting!
Make a pancake plate!
Paco Ramirez omg that is perfect!awesome idea!
would say a pancake tray to serve pancakes. that seems like something he would do.
You need to put thread locker on those Chicago screws or they will eventually work their way out. I know this b/c the man that made my belt used Chicago screws by the buckle and I found the two bits on my bedroom floor and never even noticed they had fallen out.
+_RiskJr_ good to know! Thanks!
Hey! That's one of my favorite songs. You remind me of my grandfather. Full of life and knowledge. You seem like a cool dude!
the melting of the crayons!! wow
An useable artwork
I have no idea if you mean ''unuesable'' or ''a useable''
Jack MacKelbot it goes both ways
"an useable" sounds clunky
Ants In My Eyes Johnson yeah when using 'u' at the start of a word in a way that makes it sound like 'yoo,' the proper word is 'a' not 'an'. The 'y' sound in the word turns the 'u' into a protovowel. English is complicated.
polarknight 537 What?😂
came for the resin stayed for the showtunes
you should make micarta (sorry if I spelled that wrong) skateboard for Braille, like you did the Legos. that would be awesome to see!
I use a clipboard everyday at work. I LOVE this idea! Wish I could buy one!!
The idea cutting crayons and melting is best
Was that your wife who came into the workshop, if so I love her voice, it sounds very nice. ☺
+Minty The Cat Yep. Mrs Brown has been in a few videos. Mostly burning stuff :)
... or your hand :P
Peter Brown she does seem to be a bit of a pyromaniac... 🤔
what can you make with glow sticks?
I have to admit to you Peter, at first whenI saw you melting all those crayons onto the mycarta I thought "man, somebody better get this guy a color wheel because this thing looks awful!" but the result you had in the end with some more tweaking was stunning. Great job!

mysticwolf11 It would be perfect for weekend warrior type people. Do a bunch of stuff then let it set all week before finishing up the next weekend.
45 min is great I had no idea resin goes bad after a little bit... the cup started getting hot it tripped me out. Very creative project!
I'd normally skip the ads that plays before the video starts but I'll made an exception just for you because the things you've made and the ideas you've come up with are cool.

"I'm not dipping pancakes"
Up Next:
"The Pancake Frisbee"
next . pizza serving plate . made outta real pizza
That could be Amazing!!!! 🤔
@@robynsnest1895 would totally not rot
@@dofw.mp4330 you use a special stabilizing resin and you just stick it in the vacuum chamber takes all the air out of it so that doesn't rot
@@noahpaulette1490 might be true and im too lazy to check so ill just believe you...for now(kappa)
Peter I love it when you sing in your videos.
Casper was my favorite movie growing up. love that song!!
See now every one is going to want to see you dip Pancakes Peter...
"i set the paper on fire" "oh that's awesome" y'all think peter is joking when he says his wife is a pyro
"The bit I'm using is 11/32nd"
*laughs in metric system*
Frank Sinatra!!!! I was so happy you were singing that! That's life is one of my all time favourite songs
Really really loved the pov shot of the bubbles rising to the surface where you can't even see the flame from the torch.
When did Frank Sinatra join the show?!?
Dip it suggestion: a circuit board that still works in resin. Maybe a USB flash drive or something.
hey cool. i call my blow torch "the flame" too!
Love how this one turned out, looks really awesome! Thanks for posting
Your videos are great, you always have such a curious and enthusiastic approach to things. It's great to see you problem solve as you go and your wife's input was awesome haha
