Well, as I'm sure you know, this particular car wasn't that good, with the team overreaching with an over ambitious, peaky design, in an all out attempt to try and stay up front. In actual fact, it marked the start of McLaren's slump that lasted until the new decade.
Awful lack of energy at the front of the car. It just looked so laboured on change of direction and resulted in understeer. Mclaren should never have let Perez go, the car was fully to blame in 2013
lukaku20wba on the plus side, he probably had the last laugh, McLaren's downfall only got worse after 2013 whereas Perez in the Force India has been going from strength to strength.
Came from the future, McLaren is back up with Sainz and Lando, they finally got a good engine from Renault this time round in testing, they've racked up laps much better and smoother than in previous year, and Perez is at home with Racing Point and impressing everyone with the pink Mercedes, even though he did say unless he gets a win, he will leave in 2022.
I don’t remember who it was but someone in the McLaren organization suggested that they should have run with a D spec of the previous year’s car, the MP4-27. That probably would have been the best choice. Because last time they did that was 2003 when Kimi nearly won the title in the MP4-17D. If they had a used the previous years car, they probably could have fought for championship. The MP4-27 was arguably the best car in 2012. It did struggle with reliability though. So if they had a year to upgrade the reliability and keep the peace of the previous car, they could have won some races.
@@tempest20000 why every year the teams change their cars for a new one? why they cannot keep and working on just one car and make it perfect? if there are teams that their cars of year ago are faster than the new car, that makes no sense. Why they don't keep with the last year car, if it is faster?
Miss that sound
perez have had more podiums than mclaren since he left
Update: Perez have had more wins than McLaren since he Left

I remember few saying that in 2006, when the 2.4 litre V8 engines were introduced, replacing the iconic 3.0 litre V10 engines from 1995 to 2005
