Seems that they are evenly matched until they get loaded up with open programs, when the 5 pulls ahead due to the extra 2Gb of RAM. The 90 Hz screen refresh rate on the 5 is an advantage if you are a gamer, but if not you likely won't notice it (unless you are coming from prior phone with a high refresh rate).

The flickering effect its only visible on camera, because the 60hz Pixel 5a display. You can't see this effect with your eye in real life.

All displays have some flicker. The reason you see visible flickering is due to FPS difference on the camera

@@lcm0112 That's because it's slower, the 5A 5G is running at 60hz while the 5 is at 90hz, the camera frame rate is probably set closer to Pixel 5's refresh rate. I also get the same flicker when I record my phone
