This will happen if you save a "different turret" SPOILER ALERT! She/he tell about stuff what Cave Johnson said on chapter "reunion" and about god sending some one and get peck by bird. You will understand this if you finish the game.

It's nice to get these kinds of emotion from a video game...when I played it the first time I remember being completly focused and then this one turret says "I'm different". It was just the cutest moment. I cracked up for a moment, saved this poor fella and became so joyful. It was hard to say goodbye though

I like how they’re programmed with morality, that was a fully functioning turret that had you locked on but decided not to kill you as a gesture of thanks for saving its life
Watch the turret advertisement for portal, every turret is built with a morality device and a morality suppression device haha.
It had a blinking laser, which means it wasn't fully functioning.

When i finished the game for the first time on singleplayer, i didn't rescue this turret. Now i feel extremely awful.
I tried to pick him up, but it didn't let me, so I just assumed I couldn't do it
When i got to this part i felt sad for the turret but my DUMBASS FRIEND GAVE ME A SPEEDRUN AND I COUND'T SAVE IT 😠😭

The turret you save sort of has some foreshadowing. "Cast into the earth and pecked by birds" - foreshadowing to PotatOS. "Her name was Caroline" - foreshadowing to GLaDOS being Caroline.

I was looking at developer commentary and they were saying the original reason that GLaDOS wouldn’t help you solve the tests is because she would be pecked by birds, which is what I think the Prometheus thing was referring to

These things are not supposed to be like atlas and p body, who can think for themselves, but this one and all of the defective ones proved that statement wrong!
The turret quoting Cave with that lovely little voice melts my heart.
I saw that turret during my first time playing the game, at first I thought "Shit, guess I'll die" then when I grabbed it to yeet it into the void it said "Thank You" at that moment I just stopped, grabed a cup of water and CAREFULLY gone down the "stairs" then when I saw that blue thingy, I remembered of how it destroys anything that goes through it, so I put the turret down, made the universal gesture of peace and go through without thinking about it too much, then at my 2nd playthrough I grabbed it and sit comfortably as I listened all of what this "Different" Turret says, and oh my God, that thing was a spoiler machine, talking very vaguely about what would happen after Wheatley assumed control... Everytime when I see it I grab it, put it somewhere safe, peace gesture and go off.

Refers to Cave Johnson's speech where he yelled about the combustible lemon (which I wanted to be a thing).

Refers to Wheatley's takeover in Chapter 5.
Prometheus (GLaDOS) was punished by the gods for giving the gift of knowledge to man (Chell plugging Wheatley into GLaDOS' mainframe). He (She) was cast into the bowels of the earth (turned into PotatOS) and pecked by birds (attacked by crows).
"It won't be enough."
PotatOS tries to confuse Wheatley with a paradox later in the game, but it fails horribly.
"The answer lies beneath us."
In Chapter 6, you end up in the old Aperture Science. Not the one from the original Portal, but in the old days. (You can also find a huge potato thing made by Chell on "Bring Your Daughter To Work Day." She used a secret ingredient from "Dad's work")

When Cave died, he wanted to be put interesting a machine to keep in charge of the facility. He was already pretty sick because of the moon rocks being used in the various gels later in the game. However, fearing the former technology wouldn't exist by the time he died, he requested Caroline's brain be put into GLaDOS' (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) body.
Perhaps the orcale was a prototype. A sort of fragment of cave Johnson.

I wouldn’t say that the Turrett saying the name “Caroline” at that point in the game counts as a spoiler, as nothing else is specified. The reference to Greek mythology also requires a fair bit of thinking to understand

regarding the greek reference, have you got any clue as to how its connected to the game, or what it tries to imply/foreshadow?
it's been 9 years since i've last dealed with the lore, and i can't remember all of it sharply enough in order to decipher that bit.
@@Supervergil1 The story isn’t one to one with the events of the game, but you could say that Prometheus refers to GLaDOS and that the “gift of knowledge” is her body which is taken by Wheatley. GLaDOS then falls down a deep hole where she goes to “hell” and is then pecked by birds. In the Greek myth, Prometheus gifts the knowledge willingly and is punished by god for it, whereas GLaDOS’s body is forcibly taken from her. Still, I believe that it is pretty obvious that the parallels were intentionally made.

Except they’re not random, every line the turret says (except for “thank you”, “I’m different”, and “that’s all I can say”) actually are subtle spoilers, that relate to something that will happen later.

The Prometheus story actually sorta happens too, in this occurrence, Wheatley is “man”, GLaDOS’s body is “The gift of knowledge” and GLaDOS is “Prometheus”, Wheatley takes GLaDOS’s body and GLaDOS is turned into a potato, then GLaDOS (along with Chell) fell to the lower parts of aperature labs, GLaDOS got kidnapped by a bird and when you find her again the bird is pecking at the potato
“It won’t be enough” Is refers to when you try to confront Wheatley to the paradox and it doesn’t work
“The answer is beneath us” You find out who GLaDOS is when down below

Prometheus is meant to represent both Chell and potatOS, and them giving the gift of knowledge to man (wheatley) sent them into the bowls of the earth into the 3 old Aperture laboratories where PotatOS was pecked by birds
'It won't be enough'
This is a reference to Doug Rattmann, a mysterious character who tries to survive in the wreak of Apature and spies on Chell

I always saved the turret, and listened to her draw parallels to later on in the game. Like Prometheus, GLaDOS was thrown underground and a bird tried to eat her.

Unpopular opinion: I destroy lone turrets because otherwise they'll have to be lonely for god knows how long. Turrets in groups of 2 or more I try to spare.

All I want is a mod that allows you to take this turret to the end of the game, like the companion cube. It could even be a challenge mode of sorts.
That turret would be a pretty good toy. It should have a motion sensor in front that says "I'm different" if you walk in front of it and "Thank you" if you pick it up. You should also choose whether it spouts other quotes all other times.
I got so sad when I first saw this Turret, I thought I couldn’t help it when I first played, just for me to later be able to help them! :))

Turret was different, it knew the truth, if the truth was told the facility would be in trouble thus they wanted to eliminate the one that was AHEAD in its way of thought by killing, just like real life.

What a polite and adorable little turret that one is. I wonder how it got to be so knowledgeable? Greek mythology is here. Cause The actually story told, As Prometheus gave knowledge and fir to Humans, He have hanged on the mountain and the bird came and pecked his liver, the liver was regenerating again and again, Zeus punished him.
Also, the word the answer is beneath us, is connected to Greek mythology. In portal 2, it is the secret underground abandoned lab. In Greek, it is scary, lonely and dead hell.
