While I love the music. am not sure if the lyrics are sarcastic or serious. but they show an example of faith can blindfold people and drive them astray to kill each other in the name of an imaginary god.
I get your point 100% Qutaiba (thanks for stopping by btw, I see you're aware I made a little vid for your band !). Religion has been killing manking for millenia is what I deeply think, none is peace-based as they hate every "sinner" who doesn't believe / doesn't worship the same idol. Yet it makes a cool theme nonetheless for a Power Metal song haha
Just my thoughts, but every group has hypocrites and radicals somewhere. Some groups just grab a little bit more attention then the others when someone does something in its name.
Hello there mates. It's Paul from Lux Perpetua. I was just walking around youtube and I noticed your conversation. You should never treat our lyrics literally 'cuz we do not praise or criticize anyfing in them. As it has been spoken it's really good theme for song. But we do like to give people something to thing about and you are really good example of this. And btw the lyrics was inspired by movie Kingdom of Heaven.
The fact that you admit that this is a "cool" theme for a song happens because deep down you know that crusaders were the lesser evil. At the end of the day if men like them didn't exist you wouldn't have a right to question the existence of God now. Blame Christianity all you want about witch burning or whatever happened thousands of years ago but if it didn't exist we would all be Muslims now. Now this could be bad or good depending on how you look at it. Just my two cents on the situation.
Deus Vult intensifies !
Indeed.
The thought of the day is something I needed to hear right now. Thank you.
This is something I would need to read somewhere too...
