    Brandons explanation hit me over the head like a ton of bricks. Looks like I'll be focusing on thmy deadlift set up this week

    Steps (note to self)
    1:55 bracing before hinging
    3:39 more clearly explained it as "bracing from a neutral position" in this case, that would be standing with the middle of your foot over the barbell.
    This is what I observed with lifters such as ProfessionalWeakGuy bracing before hinging. He does that emote thing...

    I’ve watched idk how many videos and lost count of the articles I’ve read trying to fix this. I can’t wait for my next deadlift day to give this a try!

    I just finished my sets, realized my bracing felt weak and looked into this and I was making this exact mistake. Thank you for the good info, I’m going to try and incorporate this

      @@brandonmorgan3931 Brandon, let's say I'm doing multiple deadlift reps, do I maintain the brace that was built during a neutral positioning the entire time, or do I reset each rep? This jamming into the bar during each rep is 100% me lol.

      Brandon #2 does look a little rounded here. His erectors are also just massive though which probably makes it look worse than it is

      Yeah, good point. I'm slow on the strap in, so it's like I'm bracing from the bottom at every start.

    • @HolidayFortnight
      @HolidayFortnight 4 года назад +8

      You guys are probably wrapping the straps too many times. Only once is necessary, so it should be quick. Wrapping the entire strap around the barbell takes way too long. Practice just doing it once so you can be quick and confident enough to know the grip will be secure enough

      i found out instead of rounding to go into a sumo position to get air from there and then close my stance and do the lift,but thats only with straps.

      Breathing is part of bracing so you can’t. Correct me if I’m wrong
