Eichel and his previous agent made it hard to trade him and lowered the sabres leverage by publicly showing how desperate he was to leave.

They would have had to pay buy him out of his contract just like lots of teams have done with career ending injuries. Sabres were in the wrong and they deserve to lose him it's a simple as that.

That’s coming from a player who did not like being there and you harmed his abilities to ever be elite not to mention ignoring his own appeals to have the surgery he wanted. They gave him 10 mil a year and the C, but he sent vibes he would not play here even after having what some might call an elective surgery that has never been done in pro team sports. Shame on them for continuing to pay him while trying to find a good trade before he had a surgery not approved by his employer’s MD’s. Him firing his agents showed it was all the Sabres too right?

He may have been an awesome person in life, a mentor the Best, however Players needed to come forward and say what is this man doing to our career. Maybe Alex Tuch can step in and become a True leader to build on. Buffalo needs to hang on to our top players and build around them and stop being the NHL train and trade center. Its weird how the vegas and flames docs had zero issues with eichels preffered operation but the sabres medical staff was dead against it.
