We don't know how the frontal lobe works. And when we say "development", we are speaking about mass growth. So when we say it completes the developement, it's actually only about the mass of it stopping to grow. But we don't know anything about how the mass relates to the functionality. It's quite possible that the functionality of "maturity" is already there at the age of 19. And I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

As a father of a 23 yr old. I will say, you need to talk with the guy that is her age as well as the 30 yr old. My daughter is involved with a guy she started dating the last 2 months of their senior year. He has a good head on his shoulders, is in the Army Reserve, did a 1 year deployment to Iraq. Has his career path laid out and what he wants to do. So in this case, he isn't your typical 19 yr old male trying to figure things out. So I think it good she is with a guy her age and they are growing together and working towards a future together.
A Lady my age did not want to see a blockbuster hit movie; said she is TOO old to go to the movies anymore. Then a girl less than half my age asked me out to go the same movie and paid for half the date. The sum of our ages was 45 then. Sometimes women box themselves in as old by acting old. No fun. lol.

until she's 40 and he's 50...or she's 30 and he's 40... the funny part is how many times the women are older and never a word or consideration. I did find when I was in my 40s and dated a 20s something that her playing video games much of her time was interesting and the fact so many men AND women were actually jealous. It's all very interesting. When in my 20s had a few 50 plus cougars that came to my work in the auto industry that flirted etc. and would have me come to their car and crawl all around looking for certain issues etc. basically to cop a feel or watch the angle and usually gave me a tip afterwards. The men and women at work thought I was a pussy because I wouldn't go "tap that" cougar. Now as a 50s man if I went to a womans work in her 20s and had her do such and then give her a tip probably wouldn't go over too well. Double standard world in every way.
Might I also add when I was in High School...NOT graduated but actually a student and I dated women already graduated and divorced... I was a "stud" and not a young boy being molested. This was in the 90s. Imagine a 22 year old man in a community dating a 17 or 16 year old girl in high school ?? Double standard. I can appreciate all perspective with regard to the subject at hand. I do slightly lean towards agreeing with the females with regards to the age gap separation. I have taken plenty of time to evaluate this. Yes, I do find younger women more attractive to look at. However, at my age, I really don't want the responsibility of any more children. Also, there is really something special about being able to relate to the person you are with. You grew up with the same music, TV programs, the way your age group viewed life for that particular era. I have tried talking with the younger generation. Most of them have no personality. The personality they do have I don't care for. There's an old saying, " familiarity breeds content!" I would rather have a 6 that I can relate to than a 10 that all she's good for is to look at. There's something about growing old with someone your like minded with and traveling. I do get it, though. I'm a man, and we are visual.
That only works if you both get together when you're young. But if you're a guy in his 40's looking for a good wife you aren't going to have anything in common with a woman around that age range. So going young is the only option. 😎

She's the same age as me and she owns a couple of sports cars. So we would have plenty in common. Other than introducing ourselves to each other, neither of us has taken the next step. I invited her to a car show and she never showed. That was the extent of it. I'm kind of a one strike and your out kind of guy. If she refuses my invite, I don't ask again.

they're using a lot of words that have nothing to do with the question. to decode the noise, just understand they're upset. but if you showed them a series of images of 30yr old men with 19yr old women with no age labels they wouldn't see a problem. they couldn't tell the difference between a hot young guy and a hot mature guy, because the only difference is wealth and competence.

I have always felt anywhere from 5 to 10 years is very workable with 10-15 years optimum for both parties, depending on the ages. If she is 25, then if he is in his 30s, that would be fine. After she reaches thirty the gap can grow larger.

I didn’t look at men older than me in my 20s. It was only when I was in my late 20s that I became comfortable with dating older men. They oldest I would date at 28 was 50. Now at 33 the oldest I would date if I wasn’t taken would be 55. My fiancé is 45 and I feel that’s a perfect age. Once you fall in love with someone you kinda want them to live as long as possible ! I will say though that I didn’t have a father around so maybe that attributed to some of that 🤷🏼♀️ also, I grew up around a grandfather who dated a 28 year old when he was 58 , they got married and are together at ages 50 and 80. So on one hand , it’s been normalized for me but on the other I have seen the downfalls of that. He is 80 with dementia and has two girls under 13 he can’t keep up with , and a wife who is very obviously cheating on him and puts him in a back room of their mansion while her and her family live off his money. It’s all fun and games until the dementia kicks in. I can also tell you that most women I talk to think I’m strange for liking older men and laugh at me for it. I don’t think most 20 somethings want older men unless she’s in it for money.
dementia is a minority most men don't have that problem . do you often speak bad of your family shows them down respect . your grandmother and grandfather did the right thing and both of them won at life . normal people would rather have 20 good years than 50 bad ones . if you truly likes someone the time you spend with them shouldn't matter . and I said like because romantic love isn't real

My wife whom I've been with for 13 years left me for a guy 18 years older than her; she in her mid 30s.
My ex-wife of 23 years left me for her boss who was also married for eons & was about 10 years older than me. He doesn't do squat outdoors & she's super outdoorsy, he likes music she hates, he's a lazy overweight slob-type, etc etc.. What he did have was a much deeper wallet than I had. Hypergamy in older chicks is way more about the money than anything else, at least as I've seen with my own eyes.
