I enjoy you and Brent working together so much! I hope one day you will own your own Dairy Farm. I’m 74 years old and watch farmers now on RUclips from the state of Maine to the Midwest. I grew up on a small dairy farm and would have like being a dairy farmer. But these days most small dairy farms are a thing of the past here in Southwestern Pennsylvania. I still have farm friends, having big dairy farms milking upward of 700 head. Your a great young lady, keep up the good work and blessing to you your family and Brent.
Good morning Taylor from a snowy Wisconsin. I see that most of your snow has already melted. I think that if more small farmers followed Brent’s farming practices more of them would stay in business. Repair, maintenance, and taking care of your cows, and hiring someone named Taylor is a great way to run a farm. Thanks for another interesting and I informative video. Keep farming. Stay healthy and may God bless you and Brent. 🚜🐄👋
I really admire the way that the animals are cared for. The saying for many years has been go big or go broke, but going big makes one a slave to the bank. Common sense--keeping the outputs as low as possible and taking care of the animals seems to be a less stressful route. The bigger the operation--the more headaches to maintain it!
So so happy to see that worked out at least temporarily, I hope it lasts a few seasons. May not be how others would have done it but you got it fixed and hopefully it lasts all next year. Really wish I was there to give you guys a high 5 for it working. I hope you and your family and friends all had a great Thanksgiving also Tay. I am sure I am not the only one that suggested welding it if it was shot, but it is nice to see when a suggestion does help you. I really enjoy your videos and thank you for taking the time to make your videos. We got snow Sunday, and it is still sticking around. I hope you get our snow so you can go sledding on the snowmobiles, I have not gone for a few years and do not want deep snow. Stay safe and healthy Tay.
Two items in this video summarize what is important on the dairy farm and why we love working with cattle: the gentle care of the cows then the road dirt on the pickup. The pickup is expensive and is dirty from getting us from here to there - but the true pride in our work comes from caring for cattle.
Wow. another great video. Great job Taylor. Love the fact that you saved a couple hundred dollars in repair work. You should get an IV for your coffee. That way you wouldn't have to stop to keep brewing it. LOL. Have a great day and God Bless
Hey Taylor Maybe the Nut was mounted with some Loctite to "glue" the Nut on the Threads from the Factory? The Heat from the Mecanic made the Loctite weak? The Torque from starting the Mower maybe was enough to break it lose? Nice vid again👍 Maybe next time do only a small Spotweld so yo can grind in of again, if you ever need to change Bearings🤔
Taylor, you are like a daughter to Brent, than his hired hand. You remind me of my daughters when I had a dairy. Baling wire and a welder hold a farm together.
🧐 Your RUclips channel is really paying off ❤ 💰 ❤. Im guessing Brent was at first a little skeptical but now WOW he must be loving the decision to say yes! Your great personality along with Brent’s experience makes a team to beat!
Hi Taylor , I too spent countless hours at the farm and did most of our repair work at 16 ,I'm 22 now and work a farm equipment dealer but this video reminded me of the days when i had to make things work to save money where we could . Great video
You are a hard working young lady 💪 Taylor and you deserve all the mugs of coffee you can get. Please say hello to Brent for us. Love the videos Taylor. Kind regards from all of us in Ireland Patrick Brazil 😊.
The other thing you could use in warmer months would be locktite... Blue is ment to beable to break with hand force, red requires heat to break. Use it in gun smithing quite a lot. Should work here to... Take a few minutes to set.
out of all the farm channels i watch taylor calls it crap not manure ... i love it ... i love how you talk to "fast" happy holidays! tell the girls moooo from me!
First of all, congratulations on 13K Subs, Taylor !!!! You have earned it and more!!! I love your content. Keep up the great work!!! God bless you all!!!! Eddy
If a nut on that machine becomes loose, explore using a locknut or self-locking nut. They are readily available at McMaster-Carr in a range of sizes. Putting Loctite on a thread could make future removal quiet difficult.
Hi Lady Tay, that was great news on the mower by savings lots of bucks with the welding. I hope it continues to work and not just kicking the bucket down the road so to speak. You and Brent surely must be thick skinned because you are always outside working in the extreme cold temps and appear to not mind it all. I wouldn’t survive without wearing an Alaskan Parka. Thanks again for your great video. I often wonder approximately how many hours of video do you shoot before you edit it down to what you actually post. I would bet it’s quite a lot. Have a wonderful week. Please stay warm and safe. Drink your share of coffee and above all take care. Thank You for sharing your life with us.
Hey Taylor! So happy to see another girl Maine farmer! Just started watching you not long ago! I make Cow's milk soap and would love to send you a couple of bars! Just pick out a couple or I can send a couple at random! It's Julianna's Cow Milk Soap! :) Happy farming! -Julianna :)
Another awesome video!! I luv snow...disclaimer: I don't have to work or drive in it. so there's all that. Glad yall got the mower shell fixed. This will buy u some time to shop around for a replacement. Would it be possible to find a salvaged part? Stay safe and warm up there!
Hi Taylor. Glad to see your a FORD F150 girl. What year is your I had a gray 2013 and then a 15 the same color as your. Then reddish brown/ black 18 that changed colors it was called something? Red magenta. Depending on the light sometimes it looked dark purple. Now driving a 2021 F 150 Lariat that is called Kodiak Brown but it too looks different colors depending on which way the light hits it. If you can’t tell I have leased all of them but I just bought the 21 out right when the lease was up. When looking at the new ones to lease the payments wer3 at least $150-$200 dollars more per month for a truck with no options to speak of and it had the smaller motor so it was a no brainer to just buy the 21 out right it only has 27000 miles and I know how well it was taken care of some of these guys that lease tend to not care how they drive or how much more weight they haul or tow with it because oh well it’s getting traded in in 2-3 years so if the engine or transmission goes out they don’t care it’s the next guys problem or if it happens to them it’s covered by warranty so drive the heck out of it. I baby mine Keep the videos coming. I love watching them. Ps the 3.5 twin turbo eco boost has been a good engine lots of towing power and torque I have had 3 of them and all have been very good as well as the 5.0 engine which is a 302 cubic inch v8 vs the 3.5 v6
Thanksgiving morning of 1971(Before you were born) we had 3 ft of snow here in N.E.PA.! I was thinking you have to take it for a test run!! We were away for a few days for Thanksgiving, I'm catching up on all my channels! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! We did!
Hi Taylor! Glad you were able to get that nut to hang on!! My dad was the type that never put away tools. Whenever he worked on something you could depend on a supply tools too bee left behind. Makes me think about you leaving the rag and spray can on the ground when you were looking for the wrench and hammer. You were heading to the shop any way!! Liked your comment on "mowing in the snow." "This is wrong."
It does look strange mowing with snow on the ground but the job is not done until the fix is confirmed. Now you won't go all winter wondering if the mower will work in the spring.
I wonder if your mower issue could be caused by the over running clutch not working. Maybe when you stop the PTO it comes to a dead stop and jars the nut loose. Calling the manufacturer for tech support might get some answers.
Use red locktite on the threads (clean threads first) and let it dry for a day it will never loosen off. You can buy that at any NAPA store or auto store. Get a socket to fit your dewalt impact that will tighten it up way more than a pipe wrench! Also buy a vice for your shop will be a great asset.
Sooo, that's what helps you to chat so freely, the several cups(large) of coffee. I think we all like your entertaining comments, the faster the better. Your buddy from N. Carolina.
When I lived on a farm in southwestern Ontario, I knew of a young farmer near us who lost both arms to the shoulder after getting caught in an unprotected pto. Safety first always --- even if is inconvenient. Loss limbs or life is far more inconvenient.
Good video not sure what brand mower that was i know there was a recall on certain mower for nut and bolt problem coming loose But it looks like you got it fixed Good video Taylor
Taylor, a question from a guy who has not mowed using a mower like this one. What are the silver colored bars hanging down in front of the turtle heads. I’m guessing that they knocked the grass down for the blades to get a better cut. Novices! What can you do with them? 😂😂 Another great video!!
your driving style is great: soft start of the pto, not tough acceleration of the machine, very careful on traktor handling! You really can be handed ober a tractor or machine. Wish all drivers would be like you. You can come anytime to do our grass cutting👍
You can dilute your coffee by one cup coffee water to 2 bottles water in a drip maker. You mainly want the warmth of the water with the caffeine. This way you are being good to your heart as well. God bless. As for your gloves, sew a string to the wristband of each glove and pass one glove up one arm and down the other arm of your coat, your will not "lose" them again.
When welding dissimilar metals or high strength metals always use 7018. 7018 does a better job when using it. Remember you have to keep it heated to keep moisture out of it. It is called lohi for a reason. Lo hi means low hydrogen. Thus why you must keep it heated to keep moisture out. One keeps it in its own box with a incandescent light bulb inside to keep it heated. Your rod is too thick for your minimal skills.
Would be nice to Brent will put up nice machine shop, or you can work on everything inside instead of the weather and in Parker tractors and stuff in there
Hey Taylor, I think you could weld better. If you lived closer I would show you how. Instead of welding it you should have used red locktight after cleaning the nut and threads with brake cleaner.
I wish I could get all my tools loaded up and bring them there to fix up all your equipment . I've been noticing a lot of your equipment is getting worn and in need of some severe maintenance .AND I'd bring those zerts for the skid loader . Don't be surprised if you see a package in the mail soon !!!😊
Drill a hole between the nut and shaft then tap it put a bolt in there and grind the head of the bolt flush with the nut. Or use red loctite on the nut.
If my old kuhn has that problem ill know how to fix. Ur fingers look good.mine are all beat up.still work tho. The curtains are all gone on mine too. One advantage mine sits in a barn all winter. Have that old jd rake too.its retired Have 10 wheel sitrix rake now. Maybe one more year i 72.
Hi, I think that big nut should be torqued to a specific amount of ft. Lbs. which you couldn’t do with a hammer and pipe wrench, and that is why it keeps coming loose. Have a god day.
@@tayfarms That sounds like the wise choice. Whenever he had to feed less than ideal feed, my grandfather always said it was better than feeding snowballs.

How do the Amish run small farms with few cows?
I’m glad you saved $500 right now, you might have some other expense that wasn’t planned for. Hope you had a great Happy Thanksgiving.😊

I would have welded a spot, Edge of the nut onto the spracket the where you could grind it off and win ruin the threads on the shaft.
I've done repairs like that where I drilled and tapped three holes on the edge of the bolt and the nut. Put set screws in it with some lock tight.
T how did you get so mechanically crafted. You are so amazing
Good job young lady.
Happy Thanksgiving guys
Thank you!!
Hi Tay! May I recommend you have a video on you snowmobiling when there is plenty of snow on the ground? Just a suggestion.
I think that’s a great suggestion!
The heat from the welding may have caused the loctite to breakdown. Try applying fresh locktite to keep the nut from turning.
I guess dairy work is addictive. A very noble profession.

All I can say, Taylor, is that you're one tough lady, dude!
Would you please put a protective cover on the PTO shaft of the mower, this is extremely dangerous
When I lived on a farm in southwestern Ontario, I knew of a young farmer near us who lost both arms to the shoulder after getting caught in an unprotected pto. Safety first always --- even if is inconvenient. Loss limbs or life is far more inconvenient.

Hopefully a safety latch holding that up while underneath the hydraulic lifted implants

Yep, your probably correct, however with a weld on the end it won’t be coming off no matter what now😂
When Kuhn put that mower together it was not a blond with a lump hammer & stilson that tightened that nut 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
By welding nut is not good idea reason saying might damage cog in bed then your taking about expense
