Good morning Tay, the problem with your gutter cleaner is everything is wore out. That sprocket that you are saying is wore will be attached to a vertical shaft, that shaft has two big nylon bushings, if they are wore out, it will make that sprocket run on a slight angel and cause the chain to fall off. The bushing is not too expensive but the job of taking it apart will be fun because it has been caked in agricultural waste for years.💩 I have done it on mine. Those old links are good for a handle on a draw pin, simply cut the hook part off and weld the big part on the pin, perfect fit for a hand. Take care 🇨🇦👍🚜❤️
Good morning Taylor from a snowy Wisconsin. Your weather patterns really change quickly in Maine. In one videos there’s snow on the ground and in the next the sun shines . I know manure is the main source of fertilizer for your hayfields but how long do your hayfields stay productive before you have to replant it? As much fun as you had making this video we had even more fun watching it. I was waiting for a splotch of manure to hit your camera when it was positioned on the ground but it didn’t happen. Taylor, you have one of the most beautiful smiles so keep smiling, keep farming, and enjoy your late lunches. 🚜🐄😉❤️❤️❤️
Hi! Hope your staying safe and warm in that snow! Yes, Maine weather changes pretty much by the minute 😂. That’s an excellent question about the reseeding. I can’t really answer it precisely but I do know that they have not been reseeded in the 10+ years that I’ve been working on the farm and they are testing well and seem to be growing very well still. Thanks so much for watching, hope to hear from you soon! 😊
There's a bushing in that shaft where the big wheel goes, you should replace that while it's out! I had problems with the chain kind of falling down so the cog didn't catch the chain, I built the shut up on the out side, not the return side, with a 1/4 in.x 3ft. plate steel so it would catch the chain, worked for a while, but finally had to replace the bushing! I think it's brass! You're pretty funny!
The International 1066, like other models in the International Harvester lineup, has left a lasting legacy in the history of agricultural machinery. Many farmers and enthusiasts still appreciate and use these tractors today. The International 1066 is considered a classic tractor and is often sought after by collectors and those who appreciate vintage farm equipment. Its durability, versatility, and the distinctive design contribute to its enduring popularity among agricultural machinery enthusiasts.
Taylor, great to spend another day doing chores with you. Not many women would consider spreading manure fun, you are a real gem. My spreader has the end beaters, not the side shooter so I'm always covered when I spread, farmer's cologne. Take care and keep up the good work.
You remain me of me in a-by gone time of my life. I'm 72 now, long retired and loving it. Keep farming and making videos, I truing enjoy them, thank you.
Good Morning Ms Tay. Enjoyed the video as I always do. As I’ve said before, I live in Maryland and it’s cold and dreary here so I can bet that it’s much colder in Maine which brings me to asking why you don’t have something on covering your head and hands. You are definitely a one of a kind. It’s just unbelievable the kinds of things you do on the farm and the elements you are subjected to, i.e., cow poop, dirt/grime and weather. And you just take it in stride…..Just Remarkable. Many times I sit here watching your videos and I catch myself just shaking my head at what you do. Ok, until the next video, please stay warm, stay just the way you are, be safe and take care. Thanks again. You’re wonderful.
Taylor, I agree with the person that suggested you disconnect the Batteries for the winter, that way there wont be any drain on the batteries and prevent any short circuits caused by rodents chewing on the wires causing a fire that way you will save the tractor plus saving all those hay bales 😊
Hi Taylor, good video, the chain was falling off on my patz, one time a flight caught and trashed the plate on the return side. you already established the chain is bad don't fight it. I did buy a new sprocket and brass bushings as well, the lower one was wore thru one side. good luck best wishes to you both.
Unthawing raw manure with an industrial strength space heater. I bet that smelled yummy. Love the long tractor vids! Thanks to you and Brent (and the cows, of course) for all the hard work
Patz had Gratez manufacture the chains for them. Then the patent expired and they had a falling out. Gratez now makes their own brand. Same as Patz you are correct.
Enjoy watching your channel... not many dairies your size left around the Lacrosse Wisconsin area where I'm from. Best wishes in your dairy farming future!
Ah, the joy of manure spreading. Shame it comes to an end. We never had a spreader freeze up. However, we always used rear discharge spreaders Pitchforks, shovels, and wheelbarrows. That is the way we loaded the spreader. We also farmed about 25 acres of corn and chopped it and blew it into the upright silo for feeding during the winter months. Fun and more fun. I really enjoy your videos. Reminds me of the good times of farming. Have a great day and God Bless
Hi Taylor, am a 73 yr old grain farmer from Iowa, am so impressed with your work ethic, keep it up I am sure you are going to succed as a great farmer.
Love watching, suggest keeping old chain gear assembly and having your welder build up spurs to have for a backup, as I saw in another episode that you obtained a different set of gears.
Use a paint thinner and automatic transmission fluid mix and brush it on the parts you want to free up on the barn cleaner. Do it once a day until you get your parts. This is way better penatrating oil you can by on the market.
I was afraid the 1066 got sold, my aunt had a 1066 on their dairy . Very reliable, I used it to prep ground in the spring and cousin would start planting when done milking. Yes mid day meal around 2pm and supper 9pm then still cousin had to milk. I went home because Iworked off farm.
There are lots of videos on soil health if you are interested to learn about the hay and manure breaking down and general soil biology. Some of the ones I am learning from are Dr Elaine, Gabe Brown etc. etc. Great information being shared.
Good job and another job done for the season manure hauling in cold weather is not fun. Barn cleaner is so nice when it works but a pain when it doesn’t.
Good morning, Taylor nice brisk morning. Hey, and I suppose it's pretty chilly right? In that tractor with a cab on without any covering to stop, the wind. One thing you should crank the engine as your using starting fluid An you should never start p t o when on an angle bad on the nuckles , start in a straight line Just some advice
Taylor, Great video. Slingers are the best spreaders. One thing i would recommend is finding a deflector for the discharge chute. It will make spreading so much adjustable and accurate. You will be able to do shorter width and more consistent spreading, just makes it nice overall to have that option. The other thing, if you ever get a slinger with a cover, it will change your Life 😂, but definitely makes it nice with liquid and being able to go faster without the slosh being a problem.
@25:15 good shot, almost hit the camera 🤭👍 A perfect example why one should keep good distance to muck spreaders and alike! A stone, ice lump or whatever heavy flung out by those flails and hiitting you in the coco nut and it's over 👎 You are a tough gal, the brown mist when you shut the flinger off, wow it looked like it hit you right over, no need for sunbathing after that one. Keep it up, you are made of something different!!! 💥💪👍
Good Morning,Ed from Vermont, I have worked with Patz equipment here in Vermont on many farms,I was going to say your sprocket on the unit is. Wore as well as the chain
Good morning Taylor! The 1066 with 1000 rpm pto really slings the sh..tuff! Turns it into a mist! Used to be contacting your "local dealer" he might be an hour away. Today it's considered local if it is less than 3 states away. That's Maine or Montana!! Enjoyed your video!
Good afternoon Taylor. Praying you are well. According to what the material makeup of that sprocket, it is possible for a good welder to build up the teeth on the sprocket . If they are hardened teeth they may break off after welding but it might work and save you from removing the sprocket. Just a thought from an old man. God bless !!! Eddy
The 66 series tractor my opinion was the best if you're a JD man it was the 4020 but actually it was the 4010 , IH was #1 until JD introduced new generation line up for tractors really enjoy the videos thanks so much!!!😅
G'day Tay. We used to have the same Patz stable cleaner chain and transmission. Changing the end sprocket will likely be a big help. Is your sprocket running straight or is it loose? Did you check the bearing that the sprocket runs in as well? If the bearing is worn too much (and it probably is being that it is the original), the chain won't run straight and will slip off the sprocket. It's likely a combination of old, stretched chain and worn out parts. It happens. Good luck with the repairs 😊.
In our country in the Netherlands it is not allowed to spread out manure after September 15 and it is allowed again after February 15, this is to prevent the manure from being washed off into the ditch, so that the groundwater remains clean of nutrients, but I think that Esther is regular there may be an exception, so that it has time to digest,
Great video, we always spread our manure pile in the spring, must have been too busy in the fall. Is that a Patz barn cleaner? We had a Clay barn cleaner, that was orange and green colors. Have a great day and thanks for sharing.
Good morning, first of all, congratulations on your courage! your job is difficult and despite that, you always keep smiling! I had a question about manure. is there a buried part to collect the liquids or is there only one part? greetings
Taylor, I’m with my dad who loves your videos. Which farm near Pittsfield do you work at? He wants to check it out. His name is Drew and he lives in Freedom. 71 years old.
There's something about this girl, she's seemingly genuine and like cartoon character cute. She obviously works hard. She's from Maine like me, makes perfect sense 😂
Its always a good day when i get to watch your videos
Glad to hear that!
@@tayfarmsGood I'm glad
Really enjoy your passion and love for farming
That’s so nice of you, I’m glad you enjoy it!🙂
Thank You for sharing your thoughts with us.

you're correct, I also told her that, that was before I saw your post!
It would help if Taylor cleaned out the stalls going backwards. Anti clockwise around the gutter cleaner.
Your backing skills are spot on, and yes I do love tractors! 👍👏🐄
Awesome! Thank you!
Really enjoyed your video, have a great day
Thanks Brent and Taylor for a another great video . From 40 miles away.
Incredible knowledge about all things on farm continuous training process, have a good day Taylor.
Thanks! You too!

Our neighbor just put in one of those sprockets last week. So far, so good. They said you'll get 10 more years out of your chain.

I grew up using an International Diesel 560 - it was a workhorse.
I kinda miss the McCormick International B-275 I used to drive in the early 90's.
The sign you rebuilt for the barn looks great
Thanks so much!
That tractor is a beast!
When you were spreading that maneuver, it was the little chunks were coming to the camera. You're a hard working person keep it up

Great job loading liquid manure Brent
Good morning Taylor
Enjoy like watching a young lady enjoy farming. Can't wait to see more of you enjoying life and your job
Thanks for the video! I know they are lots of work - but enjoyable to watch! That spreader has got quite a range for sure - need a hat!🤣
Hello Ms. Taylor, hope are having a lovely day! If I may ask, what would be your dream tractor ?
Good Morning Ms Tay. Enjoyed the video as I always do. As I’ve said before, I live in Maryland and it’s cold and dreary here so I can bet that it’s much colder in Maine which brings me to asking why you don’t have something on covering your head and hands.

The say the best time to spread farm yard manure is Oct Nov not in spring as Taylor suggested 😊
Hi Tay, glad to see you are almost ready for winter up there and finishing the manure spreading . Stay warm 🤗
As ready as we’ll ever be 😉. I hope you are staying safe and healthy! 😀
Great job spreading liquid manure Taylor
Well done - great season!
Yes, I did that to mine too, works great. Chain wears a 1/32 " a link times 100 links is how the chain seems like its stretched, but is actusllt wear
Another awesome video!! I'm constantly impressed w/ yalls ability to adapt and overcome any 'opportunity' that arises! Stay safe and warm up there!

Patz has spacers that you have to weld to make the drive larger around ,I have done it to ours .
Taking my 30 minute break at work; watching some great video content

Hi Taylor 1066 found new home when I seen that thinking have the sold the big tractor no housed for the winter great video Taylor 😊

Good Morning,Ed from Vermont, I have worked with Patz equipment here in Vermont on many farms,I was going to say your sprocket on the unit is. Wore as well as the chain
It really sucks how $$$$$ parts cost for anything in farming,if u can even get parts
Vermont, maybe in my area,l live in Franklin County, near Lake Champlain and the Canadian Border
Nothing worse than frozen manure, most farms in this area are all liquid pits now, just about all huge farm in my area ,no small farms much of any more
Same here dec 1 no more spread
Good morning Taylor! The 1066 with 1000 rpm pto really slings the sh..tuff! Turns it into a mist! Used to be contacting your "local dealer" he might be an hour away. Today it's considered local if it is less than 3 states away. That's Maine or Montana!! Enjoyed your video!
Hi! It sure does shoot it!😅 thanks so much for watching
You guys should disconnect the battery cables on the 1066 if you're not going to use it all winter. Just thinking about your new battery's
Manure storage like that is a huge asset. Winter spreading is fine until it's negative temps or several feet of snow and hauling is a daily necessity
Awesome
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO Taylor

Thats Patz unit. Used them for years. Take out a few links. patz mad in Pound wisc.
We had a badger barn cleaner on our farm yours looks like a Jamesway cleaner
A weld shop may be able to plasma cut a sprocket to match the chain pitch .
Great video, we always spread our manure pile in the spring, must have been too busy in the fall. Is that a Patz barn cleaner? We had a Clay barn cleaner, that was orange and green colors. Have a great day and thanks for sharing.
Taylor can you you explain how that pump gets the manure from the tyestall bar to the storage pit.never heard of this before.thks
Glad to see the international is inside for the winter. Any room for the massy? It’s hard on tractors to sit out all winter. Have a great day
Good morning,
first of all, congratulations on your courage! your job is difficult and despite that, you always keep smiling!
I had a question about manure. is there a buried part to collect the liquids or is there only one part?
greetings

I have a 966,1066,1466 and a 1566 all run super the best tractors ever made also have 1086 1486 and a 1586
Wow that’s so cool!
Excellent selection of tractors. I have a 966 and two 1086s.

Can you gear down the chain speed so the gutter will be full at the end of gutter? The chain will last longer.
Nice video Taylor.
