.....Hello.....🔥🖤🔥 Sublime Art, and Perfection in gestures..... I really love the Pattern of the sword....🙏😌 Have a great continuation and see you. 😉👍👍👍👌
Spectacular!! Around 7 minutes into the movie you paint a green liquid on the sword before putting it into the forge. If I may ask, what was that liquid and what did it do to the blade when heated? Thank you for all of the time you spend in presenting us these incredible insights into your craft!! ~Ray
Damascus steel is "crucible" steel which in ye Olde days was often sold in Damascus Syria (probably not made there, it was a major trading hub). Pattern welded steel is layers of steel stacked, forge welded, and then often manipulated into various designs (ladder, raindrop, etc etc.) Currently, the term "Damascus steel" is widely used when it's really pattern welded steel.
Damascus steel came from from the name of the city Damas, and the patern they maied in the steel, it is quit the same about a patern welded sword blade, witch is named like this cause the patern you make by welded twoo steel with hight tempereature in the forge processus. At the origine there was damascus, witch is a patern welded blade and Damascinage, witch is the incrustation of precious steel like gold, silver, coper in the blade. If you look at arabic blades, or spanish swords, or scandinavian blades, you'll have wonderfull exemples of it.
Yep! Thats one kind, it was made in India and has a particularly neat pattern. @@dominicdwk With crucible steel, basically you take a pot and mix your ingredients in, then heat it until it forge welds together. Depending on the ingredients, you get different appearances and properties.
What is the purpose behind clamping the blade between wooden boards beyond keeping it flat as it cools? Is it also allowing the smoke and wood to increase the carbon level?
The etching is pretty much flawless too. Nicely done Freerk

What’s the difference between Damascus and pattern welded steel? Is it just semantics or is there a real difference?
Pretty much the same

Just noticed that you flattened the wire for the wrap.

Normalize the steel, so when you quench it, it doesn't warp as much, if at all
