Black Bear Scratching Post - southcentral Washington

Nothing beats a good late-summer scratch on an old fence post! Bears have been rubbing on this abandoned garden post for a couple of years, but it wasn't until this year that they really started demolishing the wood around head-height. I was tempted to dub over this video with some catchy dance tune, but I figured I would let the pileated woodpecker and the bear grunts suffice for sound effects. I'm pretty sure this was one of the four bears I ran into this afternoon while checking my cameras here.
