So, I repainted the trim and got a perfect match to the same light grey in the new side panels. Came out great and I really like it. You should be able to see that in the next few videos after that one. Also, the plane it totally done now. I’ll be posting the new seat renovation in the next day or two, and then a project wrap up with the big before/after reveal shortly after. Just got back from a fun week at OSHKOSH… check those videos out too.

You are doing a great job of restoration. I am working on the carpet under the instrument panel. Two small pieces that attach to the pedestal. All the prior carpet was glued in with Pliobond which makes removal of the residue very tedious. About an hour per day in the early morning in Louisiana's heat and humidity is all that one can stand before getting impatient and careless.

Yeah - make sure you have a fan in there, it helps. But that's absolutely why I started the project in January. Managed to get all the really labor intensive stuff done before it got really hot. Always pretty warm in FL, but big difference between Jan and June.

That's exactly what I'm going through on my Arrow in Savannah, GA (a free 100 degree sauna) and I only have a shade port, no hangar. I'm using Jasco Premium Paint & Epoxy Remover for stubborn adhesive. It's thick, you brush it into place and leave it 30+ minutes (as long as over night) and adhesive just melts away with little effort.

@@JawanzaBassue that sauna sounds brutal - stay hydrated! Nice tip on the adhesive remover.

What is another 20-50 hours of work and another few thousand dollars when your project will end up costing ten or twenty times that. I just put in a new engine with new crank, cam, piston rods during the overhaul. Then new hoses, fittings, then sanding, sealing and painting every piece from the firewall forward. Talk about hundreds of hours?! I can appreciate every detail of what you are doing. It gets to the point that we can put more money into the airplane than we can ever get out of it. Just those 10 hoses was over a grand. Prop overhaul, alternator, oil cooler, prop governor, electric fuel pump and the list goes on and on. My plane has not flown for 2 years, but the carpet is the only thing left before it takes to the air once more. I know how you feel. You have to love it.

Sounds like you've got a great project going on. Yeah the money spent is purely for personal enjoyment - definitely not getting that back out - but not planning to sell this anytime soon.

I'm not good at this but my opinion is "different things" go well with contrast. Black and white. Red and blue. You get the point. You'll look around and figure it out.

Yeah, I agree. I think the issue was, the trim color being off kind of created a third color in the plane. I ended up repainting it all... as you'll see coming up in the trim video very soon and really like the results.
