  • A great live performance of Sabbra Cadabra from February 21, 1974. This period was the peak of Ozzy's live vocals, and this concert is by far the best quality recording from around that time. Great stuff, Ozz actually hits all the high notes here.

I was at this show! I was 15 years old it was awesome! after the show I went to stage left were Ozzy was hanging out I called to him and asked him for the Orchids that were next to Bill Wards Kit He was so cool he ran over to them ran back to me (I was overlooking him from a railing) and he threw the Orchids to me..I had those white orchids for years man..cool memory

Yeah, 1974 was about as good as it got for Ozzy's voice. By'76 it sounded like he had scratched his vocal cords with sandpaper. Sad, he had such range and power at this point.

Dio told of seeing Coverdale cough blood after shows, then light up a smoke with a drink.

So many different things seem to play a role in the preservation of your vocal chords, a singer I am VERY fond of said he drank beer but not hard liquor because the liquor messed up your vocal chords, and he kept his voice until near the end of his life. I don't know, I hate his style of music, but I've always heard Frank Sinatra sucked the last 20 years he was out there performing, and you know that motherfucker drank liquor like.....well, like me.

    Love me every single night
Feel so happy since I met that girl
When we're making love it's something out of this world
Feels so good to know that she's all mine
Going to love that woman till the end of time
    Someone to live for
Love me till the end of time

Good to know that she's all mine
Lovely lady make love all night long
Lovely lady never do me wrong
    I don't wanna leave ya

    Lovely lady, mystifying eyes
Lovely lady, she don't tell me no lies

A superb rendition. Maybe the greatest recorded "Sabbra Cadabra" (there' not a ton of em). Of course the version from the Asbury Park, NJ (King Biscuit radio broadcast) is a classic due to the high quality of the sound. However, for an audience recorded tape, the sound is quite good and the performance is just excellent!
