Lowcost decks seem so powerful as soon as there is any payoff with advantage gain or to just hit blackjacks, chaining through the deck is so easy

Absolutely loving these videos! I just started playing last night myself. As for the power level question, it might be too early to tell, maybe at higher difficulties low values will be harder to work with, but as for now I think I can be confident saying that low values + disruption is the easiest way to win. Especially Terminate the Spire. That card is fully overpowered.

As others have stated, the big problem with the game is that going for low cards is nearly always the better strategy. There are some bosses and enemies which counter it but not enough to where it's discouraged

47:18 That is definitely Jean Luc Picard ... or Sir Patric Stewart playing, I suppose.

I see your Blackjack, and match it with my own!

Pretty much under no circumstance you should go for high value cards in this game. The general best deck is going for a bunch or round up cards(except the misprinted card because it's somewhat big) for easy Blackjack, disruptive cards like Break limit to mess with your foes' deck, and damage dealing cards like Scratch. Rules card and sweep the leg are also useful because you can set your limit back to 22 after bosses use Sweep the leg on you. This make Terminate the Tower the best card because it contains three of the mentioned cards.

Yea! It does seem like lower numbers would always be better, in a vacuum you'd think the best deck just has twenty one 1s and you get a blackjack every turn, but you have to keep in mind the enemy's ability to screw with your deck, like if they put a 20 in your draw pile suddenly if you need to hit 10 times to get a good score, but every time you hit there's a chance you'll bust, your deck becomes much worse. Or I imagine some (enemy) cards might have an effect similar to thorns where you're discouraged from hitting too much.

I feel like this game has more mechanics it could take advantage of, like max hp, or having even stranger blackjack limits (currently only 20-22).
I could even imagine some cards being added to incentivize taking larger cards, for example:
Punch card: lock. when the opponent hits, deal 1 damage.

37:50 That is one major gripe I have with this game: I haven't found one yet. Low card decks just consistently outperform any other strategy, because by cycling through your deck so quickly, you can get so many powerful card effects off. Nothing short of a foil locked Rorschach Card would even make me consider a high card deck. And they even nerfed it recently, by making the opponent hit first. That's generally an advantage for you, but high card decks seem to excel only when they have stuff that benefits standing before the opponent, which has become harder, thanks to that. And there's barely even any effects such as that. And some enemies just have straight 21s they throw at you, which makes things even harder for the high deck. Not to speak of enemies that can disrupt you after you've stood.

I was terrified that last round was going to end with the deity playing his heirophant (was it that card?) and burning your loyalty card and/or the king of the hill after you'd already stood. This would have massively neutered or outright killed your deck on the spot. Thankfully this didn't happen, but there were a few moments where key cards were in play and the enemy was still hitting.

I thought the deity of hope's gimmick of always going for 777 was cool but it did just chose to lose at the end? It drew two (7 or Queen) cards and set them both to queen and busted?

I’m personally offended you keep putting such fantastical flair on Gerald’s name.
HE’S NOT A COOL GUY, he’s just Gerald. Not Jer-AULD
Just JER-old. From Riveria. He’s just a guy. He’s got 3 kids, a wife, 2 jobs, and only 8 minutes to play video games a month.
