    Inverted strength card goes in the same deck as Rorschach Card and RSVP card. Where now you've dealt 19 damage, forced them to stand, and possibly have them stalled to taking another 8...

    Large card decks just seem harder to do. You can always take a 0 cost card that does something useful. Larger cards means that you will eventually play less cards (unless you only have a few large cards which can be hard to get to). Meanwhile, low cost card decks feel more consistent because you can always play all of your cards.
    Not only that but larger cards make you stand on numbers like 13 while they are not in their final stage. So their mid-stage or transition phase is worse than a deck with smaller cards

      Large value card deck need other start deck to work. With full suit deck there are a lot card to remove for the deck to work

    Sweep the leg would have been amazing for this deck. One thing I've noticed is that since you don't see your "path", you have a lot less control over the RNG. I know that's pretty obvious but it has a larger impact than I though.

    Get the value out of eleven without the risk of busting thanks to versatile

    unless later starting decks or new mechanics suddenly show how a high card deck is viable, I think some balancing is needed. On way to do this would be to have each new "zone" increase the target blackjack number you need to hit to win. Low number decks still keep their consistency, but high value decks can "fit" more into their plays and it *really* makes busts feel more impactful if each player can hit and be hit by so much each turn.

    I can't quite see the value in Bat Credit Card. You get their chips when you win anyways, so there's no need to steal them.
    Charred Lizard can be sold over and over again. Even if it makes you bust, you can sell it and keep playing. It's never a ten, unless you want it to be.
    I mostly see Diamond in the Rough as good in a deck that DOESN'T use shield and use it to break the opponents shield. Obviously, it also works in a deck that makes so much shield, that losing 10 isn't an issue.
    This run really showcased how a high card deck can't deal with cards that don't fit into the strategy (unless they're 0s). If your goal is to hit 11+10 or hit 7+7+7 or something, than any little disturbance will cause you to struggle. If your goal is to hit a bunch of 1-3s that add up to 21 ideally, then you're just so much harder to disrupt.
    I think, to balance this out, the high cards need powerful effects. Valentines Card comes to mind as one of the cards that I like to use, despite it being a 14, because healing for 14 is a good benefit, while cards like 4th Kingdom Thunder, Bat Credit Card or many of the special face cards just don't do enough.

      I'm not quite as down on the high card decks, they can be quite fun and powerful with just a bit of removal, if you make sure to prioritize removing your lowest value non-flexible cards. Nothing worse than building a deck using 10's and 11's and then hitting a 2 and a high card, which you never feel good about having to stand on and definitely hurt Rhaps a fair bit here. You can suffer a stand on 15 if it comes to that, and theres so many high value/face cards in the game that you can build consistency through redundancy a lot of the time, lessening the impact of the occasional 10 + standard low value card stand turn. And the halfs are a huge godsend as always for any deck, but especially high cards I feel.
      Definitely not saying balancing isnt needed, but theres plenty of juice to squeeze out of high card builds for sure.

      It's a 10 that does a free 10 after you "steal" all their gold

    • @HappyGirlYaya
      @HappyGirlYaya Месяц назад

      @@jakestavinsky3480 There's no way to facilitate that. Most opponents have 50+ chips. Are you really gonna play that 6+ times? Yes, I guess you could kill them by cycling into it over and over again, but if you can do that, there's much better payoffs.

    A good showcase of why high value cards are no go in this game. Low cards are just far superior and easier to drive in this game. The Rain man also encourages you to play lot of low value/negative cards.
