I prefer the original Chris and Kim after hearing different versions. And I like their innocent interpretation compared to the bolder and passionate one depicted by other musical theater artists.
WHATEVER GOES FOR ME me too because the newest ones have changed the way the songs are sung. They are all still amazing and have powerful voices but I prefer these two over anyone else!

It was supposed to be the first time for Kim in all aspects :) Lea, when older, interpreted the songs and the character of Kim in a more passionate way, though. Good thing my sis has the very first and original version of Miss Saigon with all the old songs (and interpretation) and lyrics still intact.

One of the best duets ever, Sun and Moon and Last Night of the World, from the original production of Miss Saigon. Lea and Simon Bowman. None will ever compare to these two Actor/Singers. They're performances were superb, one of kind and were absolutely brilliant. They will always be what made MISS Saigon. They can do 100 Reproductions but none will ever compare to the original.

Well, I was there but I still ugly cried... lol. Simon's voice is like a force of nature filling the entire hall when he crescendoes... a perfect match to Lea's crystal clear sound.
Its 2023 now, 7th of January, still watching again and again these great actors/singers. The chemistry is beyond perfection! The respect for each other is so immense its almost reverence. Everything is effortless. You can't help being carried away into that place and time when love is almost perfect.
These two just get better and better. They were my favourite pairing In the original production and I really enjoyed this more recent duet. Unique talent.

I agree and I say this as a devoted Lea and Miss Saigon fan. I used to listen to that original soundtrack over and over again. Her voice at 18 was definitely lighter, more angelic but for the most part she still sounds the same. She's adapted to her maturing voice. I still love her voice and she's therapy to my ears. Her voice never fails to lift my spirits up.

I suddenly found myself searching and watching the original clip of Miss Saigon when they were young. Omg, the chemistry is still there! Nostalgic and the feels! Kilig and brought smile while watching. Miss Saigon is my first full length theater show I've watched and will hold dearly in my heart. I grew up watching and admiring Lea's talent. I was lucky enough to have seen them and the rest of the original cast ( including The High Sparrow from Game of Thrones Jonathan Pryce as The Engineer) five weeks after the show opened in London. So this brings back good memories and when I saw the 25th anniversary concert the three of them still have what it takes. FABULOUS

I watched Lea sing Last Night with other singers and it's different. After years of performing together and being friends, Lea and Simon's chemistry is undeniable. They can never replicate their version with anybody else. Lea and Simon are so good with each other that when I watch them sing these songs with someone else, it feels like they're being unfaithful LOL!

I was fortunate enough to have a front-row seat at the opening night of Miss Saigon at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane London 20/9/1989. I went on to see it 3 times in London - it was fantastic with Lea & Simon playing the lead roles. I have seen it several times elsewhere around the globe but none top their performances.

I prefer the original Chris and Kim after hearing different versions. And I like their innocent interpretation compared to the bolder and passionate one depicted by other musical theater artists.
WHATEVER GOES FOR ME me too because the newest ones have changed the way the songs are sung. They are all still amazing and have powerful voices but I prefer these two over anyone else!
@@whitneysterk3555 Yes, the other singers can sing the songs very well but somehow I prefer the original interpretation (West End) when Lea was still very innocent (no boyfriend at age 18) since that was more in keeping with the character of Kim. It was supposed to be the first time for Kim in all aspects :) Lea, when older, interpreted the songs and the character of Kim in a more passionate way, though. Good thing my sis has the very first and original version of Miss Saigon with all the old songs (and interpretation) and lyrics still intact.

For some reason seeing them singing together again 29 years after the show opened gives me closure.....that their characters get to meet again to profess their love. I teared up a bit. And how come their voices have not changed one bit (maybe even better) in 29 years!

One of the best duets ever, Sun and Moon and Last Night of the World, from the original production of Miss Saigon. Lea and Simon Bowman. None will ever compare to these two Actor/Singers. They're performances were superb, one of kind and were absolutely brilliant. They will always be what made MISS Saigon. They can do 100 Reproductions but none will ever compare to the original.
You can see Simon Bowman is really enjoying performing with Lea Salonga. And the chemistry's so perfect!!! Can't wait for Lea and Simon to have album together.....

Well, I was there but I still ugly cried... lol. Simon's voice is like a force of nature filling the entire hall when he crescendoes... a perfect match to Lea's crystal clear sound.
Its 2023 now, 7th of January, still watching again and again these great actors/singers. The chemistry is beyond perfection! The respect for each other is so immense its almost reverence. Everything is effortless. You can't help being carried away into that place and time when love is almost perfect.
These two just get better and better. They were my favourite pairing In the original production and I really enjoyed this more recent duet. Unique talent.

I agree and I say this as a devoted Lea and Miss Saigon fan. I used to listen to that original soundtrack over and over again. Her voice at 18 was definitely lighter, more angelic but for the most part she still sounds the same. She's adapted to her maturing voice. I still love her voice and she's therapy to my ears. Her voice never fails to lift my spirits up.
Can’t watch this amazing video without shedding tears. For me, it looks like Kim and Chris have found and loved each other again in heaven after 30 years.

babyjuds a music teacher once told me when she learned that I sing in the church, that I should sing everyday, ( exercise baga) para bang sasakyan na kahit di mo gamitin pero paandarin mo for few minutes sabi n'ya to maintain the range of my voice, of course di ko sinunod at sinusunod, walang oras, walang proper place! Lea is one and only! there is no other!

Kilig and brought smile while watching. Miss Saigon is my first full length theater show I've watched and will hold dearly in my heart. I grew up watching and admiring Lea's talent. I was lucky enough to have seen them and the rest of the original cast ( including The High Sparrow from Game of Thrones Jonathan Pryce as The Engineer) five weeks after the show opened in London. So this brings back good memories and when I saw the 25th anniversary concert the three of them still have what it takes. FABULOUS

Is it just me or did it seem like they missed performing in stage together? The way he hugged Lea and that change in his singing at the second song felt as if he was moved back in time doing what he loved the most.
This giving me goosebumps, I haven't even seen miss saigon, but this song just goes right through my heart.

I watched Lea sing Last Night with other singers and it's different. After years of performing together and being friends, Lea and Simon's chemistry is undeniable. They can never replicate their version with anybody else. Lea and Simon are so good with each other that when I watch them sing these songs with someone else, it feels like they're being unfaithful LOL!
I was lucky enough to see them in Miss Saigon in May 1991 with my Mum. We both had tears running down our faces. Our favourite Chris & Kim ♥️♥️

I was fortunate enough to have a front-row seat at the opening night of Miss Saigon at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane London 20/9/1989. I went on to see it 3 times in London - it was fantastic with Lea & Simon playing the lead roles. I have seen it several times elsewhere around the globe but none top their performances.
