You instructions are clear, specific, and focused. Your " how to" videos are beneficial to me and by your other reviews demonstrates you are the "standard" used to become an accomplished musician. I request a how to set up a practice routine, what to practice, how long to practice, and over coming the stress when the player is unable to perform the practice material. Your talent is for intermediate to advance students. I wish to have my beginner students watch and grow with your instructions. I am astonish with you. Thank you for your videos,
Thanks so much, Geary! That’s a great idea for a next series of videos. 👌 I actually already have an entire course dedicated on Practice Techniques: violinwithdrlynn.com/courses/practice-techniques
All your tips here are very good! Thank you for teaching these practical and detailed but easy to understand instructions. I'm an adult beginner who studies violin on my own. I'm really struggling with my string crossings that's why I'm glad that I found this video about it. It's a good thing that I found your channel. More power to you! 😊❤
Happy New Year! I’m so glad to hear that you found it easy to understand! We just covered string crossings in my class of pre-professional/professional violinists… so you’re not alone! :)
Awesome, I’m so glad! Thanks for watching and sharing! I have lots more shorter tutorials on my website as well: www.lynnkuo.com/social-media-tutorials Hope they help!

Hi Ramona, thanks for watching! I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “mastering the E string” but I highly recommend you peek into Simon Fischer’s book called ‘Tone’, which features a plethora of exercises that will help you develop bow control and sound production on all four strings. If you haven’t already, check out my tutorial: 5 Tips to Improve Your Sound, which is inspired by Simon Fischer’s work. Hopefully, it will give you some ideas. ruclips.net/video/7aFadd2JI8Y/видео.html
Great videos....but....anyway to do them in a closed setting? Between high winds, car noises etc. It's distracting and sometimes hard to listen. Background is great...but the information is better.
Thanks for watching and the comment! Yes, the wind was unpredictable that day. I’m no longer filming in Newfoundland now but I do miss the scenery though. 🌊 I appreciate the comment!

Great video Dr Lynn. When do you make the string crossing at the tip, frog or middle of the bow?
Thanks for watching, Mohammed!
String crossings can happen at any part of the bow and it’s best to practice them in all types of situations.
