    This is amazing. I just started dancing at age 46. My entire family, wife and three daughters, are dancing. No we all are dancing for the same Halau here in Hilo from a former student of Kumu Rae.

    My mom danced for uncle rae and won many times he is very strict and i dance for the same group but differant kumu

    Hula kahiko is suposed to be hard, strong, Aunana is soft,and look lovely. Kahiko is more like an ancient ritual... :)

    everyone has their own interpretation. I don't think it looked like karate, but that's just me. It was also about a train so the movements were supposed to look abrupt at times. I think it was pretty creative yet still traditional.
