Southwest is the last airline I would take to HNL, but what a picturesque departure! I really enjoyed the views of the recruit depot....it doesn't look like its changed much since i graduated from there in 1988.
Yeah, it's not my main choice either - but I had to try it a least once! And yes, MCRD is one of the few places around San Diego that hasn't changed much through the years. It still looks exactly the same as it did when I moved here in '97.
We rode to Kona from Las Vegas on a max in October, came back via one of Southwest’s 737-800 to Oakland in November. Definitely thought the ride was better with the Max.

Oof! 6 1/2 hours in a 737! Never like long flights in narrow planes-just makes me squirrelly
@@edvaira6891 me too
Good thing Hawaiian uses a proper plane for this flight, a nice large A330 :)
737 MAX 8's LEAP-1B is a rocket than the A320neo's LEAP-1A
You got that right, Oggy! Fuckin' WOOF!!!
Probably cause it's lighter
The MAX to hawaii is not a bad ride at all - beats southwests NG 737s.
