This might not stop everyone from totally running away with your pokemon, but if you nickname them something like "TradeBack" before trading, once the trader checks the summary, they will see that you want it back. After they return it, change its name back to normal. Otherwise, that trader will be stuck with a nickname mistake forever on that mon.

To bad some people will not care and will still keep the pokemon just to have the other version pokemon in there game witch they can use in pokemon home for a trade of the same pokemon just to get rid of the name

For some of the traded Pokémon, I could just easily evolve it in legends of Arceus then put it back in Scarlet and Violet

That's what I did for my Golem, Rypherior, etc
I was tempted to search for them in Tera Raids, but chances aren't that high, an they have to be 5 star or above for mons that strong. Plus you get the "Former Alpha" mark or also the "From a Distant Past" mark, which is pretty cool.

Still sucks that you not only have to complete both games, but also Teal Mask in both games, and nearly complete the Blueberry Dex twice, just to get your own of all 4 of these

I wish pokemon would implement a feature for those of us who wanna trade and trade back for dex and evolutions. I was thinking maybe like a trial trade feature where the pokemon traded only stay in other persons box for a limited time then automatically traded back after the time limit but I have no clue how practical that is or how hard it might be to implement lol

@nathanandcherelle made sense in the 90s now not so much it is more about making more money and making people buy both versions. It's an outdated system that shouldn't be a thing anymore
Pro tip as well: All of the Indigo Disk version exclusives (not counting paradox mons) can also be obtained thru raids. The fossil pokemon specifically are from 4* and 3* raids, and most of the trade evolution as well.

I love this list. It came in so handy before i had my living dex finished. Now i just use Home but i know a lot of people find this helpful
Home is very useful i use it for other version pokemon it now I got my future pokemon into my game to help me complete the dex
Top tip: start a new profile on your Switch and cheese your way through main game and teal mask. Save and use Home to transfer enough Pokémon get 200+ entries in the blue berry dex. Talk to Perrin to start her quest. Go catch your paradoxes. That way, transfer those to Home then to your original save file. Boom! You have two sets of paradox Pokémon and you can trade one set off. It's a bit time consuming but I pulled it off.
Is this even possible? I thought Home transfers were exclusively linked by profile. So there would be no way to transfer Pokemon from Home-B to Violet-A

@@Amins88 Nah, on the main menu select 'Pokemon'. On the screen where it says 'Select game to connect to Pokémon HOME', select the button which has your profile name. You'll then get a prompt asking 'Do you want to check a different user's save data?'. Tap yes and select the other profile uder and you'll have access to that save file. Transfer whatever you need to HOME, save, change user profile to the original one and transfer whatever you put in HOME into your main save file

I’d hold of on trading the new paradox pokemon cause there might be a raid event. Walking wake and iron leaves will probably have new raids soon to go along side the other 4 which may also get raids.

Read update, and was hoping that it was the shiny locks being removed. It’s just so weird that the olds ones that have been huntable for 20+years are locked again. Major coppium but never hurts to dream
If they where not shiny 🔐 that means kubfu and the 🐎 will be able to get shiny and GF do not want to make there shiny out yet
@@ultmewtwobut why? This is unprecedented, since gen 6 they’ve had a way to shiny hunt legendary Pokémon and all of a sudden not anymore. All of a sudden we can’t it almost seem like a mistake. Locking them decreases the longevity of the game
@@mobileempire5446 they want to have the 2 🐎 and kubfuu shiny to still be shiny 🔐 so they make them as events where you get a shiny of them

The only reason why I have Violet is because I let my girlfriend choose which version she wanted first, before the games came out, firstly.

Austin is one of these people we need more of in this world. Really appreciate the effort to make a more connected community, and helping more people to complete their dex
Helpful for the existing/returning pokemon, transferring from pokemon go into home and into your scarlet/violet game. I ended up completing my dex using this method when it came to version exclusives.
Before confirming a 'held item trade'... verify that the one you are receiving is also holding the item! I used two Protectors trying to get Rhyperior, because my first partner either didn't know it needed to be held, or (i'd like to think it was not) intentionally did this to annoy people.

While you can only have 1 of each paradox pokemon, it is always possible to run through the game again on a second save-file.
It is possible with Pokemon Home to put Pokemon from the first Home Save-file to the game of the second Save-file.
So you can easily put your main-game team and rush through the game on the second save.
That's what I was going to do it I did not get the double pack I did that with sword and 🛡 so I get both of the 🐎 pokemon in crown ⛈ in my 🛡 game

I think the Switch also has a feature where you can “trade” save data between profiles, so you can trade a secondary save to your main profile (the one you use for NSO), get the paradoxes, trade and get the version exclusives, deposit them into Pokémon HOME, and finally switch the profile saves again to get the exclusive to your main save. (NOTE: I haven’t tested this, so I don’t know if it’s true)

I got my kingdra from a raid some one online was hosting it and mange to get into the raid and we win the raid they are not hard to beat if you do a 5 🌟 raid for them

Edit: lots of ppl have also traded lol. Idc about the OT as long as I can get the dex entry. Also if going by online raids, its hard to enter into a raid without it being full or unavailabe when I try to join. Happened on Teal Mask dlc when I wanted Milotic and Conkeldurr 1 or 2 days after the dlc dropped.
If I'm gonna have to check all tera crystals on the map then fck me I'd just do the trade with someone online than spend time checking and waiting for a reset.

my guess of what they will likely do for the paradoxes(and also the box legends) at some point is do events for their shiny versions, but you get the one that doesn't normally appear in your game like they did with Zacian and Zamazenta in Sword and Shield

Completed the pokedex just now thanks to this. People did take off with my Gouging Fire and Raging bolt, which sucks, but I was kinda prepared for that so oh well.

I am glad that I buy double pack and both DLC not at the same time I buy my voilt dlc way after I got my main version DLC now I can complete the dex that and I will complete the bass game dex I just need to catch 2nd don pokemon
I’m only touch trading 1 time catch Pokémon with friends after what happened to my original Miraidon. Someone took it from me and I ended up having to take someone else’s to get one back, never again.
Why did they bother doing two versions? PLA handled "catching em all" alot better when it comes to exclusives.

Those who may not know as well: The mobile version of Pokemon Home DOES have a GTS feature! I used to and basically instantly traded off my version exclusives for the ones I needed.

I have completed my Pokédex, plus I caught some spares for trading purposes.
I have Female Alolan Sandslash, Alolan Sandshrew, Two Shieldon, Male Alolan Graveler, Female Alolan Graveler, Porygon with Up-Grade, Magmar with Magmarizer, and Rhydon with Protector.
Exert caution for anyone who does this, somewhere in the back of your head you should think I may never see this paradox Pokémon again for the possibility that the trade partner just leaves after the trade. I would recommend Home and trying certain rare shinies to get the opposite version. Me personally as a living dex guy I'm giving gamefreak 1 year to bring the other exclusives in raids or I'm just buying the DLC for my Scarlet(Second game).
I have Violet and am willing to part ways with my future paradoxes (Iron Crown and Iron Boulder) for the Scarlet ones. I want to replay through Violet with new returning Pokémon at some point hence why I said part ways.
Edit: So I did trade with someone back and forth for the Scarlet paradoxes for my Pokédex but my offer for a one time trade of the paradoxes is still on the table. Bernie if you’re seeing this thank you for helping me finish the Pokédex!!!
I can do the same on my violet game but instead I puting them into pokemon home then I will restart the game and get 2nd one since I want more then one of them that's why I got the double pack also violet is not my main game so I can replay it as much as I want

Yeah its a shame. I got the scarlet paradox for completion but in the process lost my violet luxury ball paradox pokemon. It is what it is but I care more about doing the in game content over the two pokemon. Though now it's all about the content behind BP minus the union gated content since that's not a thing outside of discords and what not.
You sir are the reason why people who don't have direct access to trading partners don't have to buy 2 switches so thanks a lot !
Just be wary, If you do not complete the quest before and trade your pokemon away, youll need to grab another one if they dont trade it back.
I appreciate you making these trade code rooms helps so much I'm just way too terrified to do a touch trade on a one off pokemon I'll have to see what the reward is for finishing this dex
For completing the blueberry dex, you get a master ball and the Mark charm, which adds two more rolls for marks when encountering wild pokemon. I'd probably just wait for raids instead of risking a failed touch trade

Something I learned is that you can make another account on your Switch and recapture these Paradox Pokémon on your version of the game, and then send them to Pokemon Home and transfer them to your main account. Although, that's gonna take some time to do, but you will get to replay the game again
@@Wownoway123 no. Making another account on the same email will automatically give you the DLC
Yeah this is probably the best way to get the other paradox legends you need but its very time consuming because you have to fill almost the whole blueberry dex again to get the duplicate legendaries and trade. I may actually do this though because I'm not risking my gouging fire or raging bolt going away forever to an untrustworthy trader
Just make a “trade back”/“touch trade” code for the pairs as well. Great/informative content all day.

I cannot express how much people suck right now. In the last two nights I've had people run off with my Golem, Rhyperior, Magmortar, and Kingdra.
Yeah I assume they will raid event the version exclusive legendaries in the near future. Since gen 7 or so Game Freak seems to have become pretty aware of the inherent flaw of trying to fill the dex while only giving players a single copy of a version exclusive mon. Like I doubt they expect us to yeet those 2 legendaries into Pokemon Home so we can RESTART OUR ENTIRE SAVE FILE to get additional copies (because that's technically a solution to this lmao).
In my opinion, this just encourages hacking lol having to play through the entire game a second time and getting 200 Pokédex entries can take a really long time and just seems silly to be honest lol At least most version exclusives can be caught in multiples so you’re not trading your only one, and this game had a second legendary that could be traded to get the other. These are literally the only ones where you’re stuck doing all that work again to get a second one of each, or just trading away your only ones just to complete the Pokédex.
we really need more people to play through Scarlet. seven days of trying to trade Future for Past, and I haven't met a past trade partner.
All I need for Pokédex completion in terms of trading now is Gouging Fire.
I can catch the rest of the starters after getting the 6000 BP to upgrade the rest of the biomes.

The codes were very useful! There were two Pokémon that I’d been unable to get in link raid battles and now I’m good. I just need to grind 3K more BP to unlock the last area and then all I’ll need to complete my Pokédex is the two paradox mons from the other game which I’m hopeful will eventually come in a raid battle.
Maybe a good system for knowing if players intend to trade a Pokémon back n forth is to have a Pokémon you want retraded hold a repeat ball and a Pokémon you intend on trading once hold an everstone

Yeah just make sure the pokemon holding the everstone is not a trade evolution otherwise the other person will be mad at you 😅

If someone doesn’t want to trade your Gouging Fire/ Raging Bolt/Iron Crown/Iron Boulder back, You can just trade with someone else to get a different Pokémon of the opposite version.

I like having a living dex in my games as of late. I have only completed violet once so if i want to get the other paradox i have to finish a second file transfer over the paradox just so i can fill my living dex. Scarlet paradox are the only 2 im missing. Im about to sit down and play all of base game, all of dlc 1 and dlc 2 just to participate in this.
Question: If you do not want to risk trading your version's special paradoxes, will it be impossible to complete the dex i.e. do you absolutely need the other version's as well to be registered?

If they dont do raids for scarlet paradox and violet paradox if not thats really screwed up cause most people that want to trade wont trade theyre legendaries. Hopefully one day we can have a pokemon game that doesnt do version exsclusives anymore but thats wishful thinking😅
I’ve been saying for years that the version system is just outdated. The whole “reason to trade” idea is pretty senseless now, at least for completion of in game stuff like the Pokédex. There are still trade evolutions and people can trade rare forms and shinies for others, so it wouldn’t be completely nonexistent if they scrapped the version exclusive concept.
@Themacattack1209 I agree with u. I love pokemon dearly, but these version exclusive things are wearing me down. I love all the legendaries, and it sucks that they need to be version exclusive, just like the main mascots for said respective games. I mean, even with pokemon home, u can only have a limit of who goes intl the game cause than u have to wait for them to update both game and home for u to trade over wat u want. It's been a hassle and it's annoying asf😮💨
I usually trade shinys for box art legendarys or other exclusive mons. I normally use Home, i find is the best way to get what you want for trades or close enogh to it. I had a shiny cobalion from Black and white that I traded for Iron Crown.
Everyone I traded with did touch trades. It helped me a lot. But now I'm greedy and I really want the Scarlet paradoxes to keep. So I'm going to trade two walking wakes for each of the Violet paradoxes, giving me an extra of each. Then I'll trade those extras in Home for the Scarlet exclusives

Austin! I found something out while shiny hunting for litwick! I found that if you have terapagos in the first slot of your party and go to Kitakami’s crystal pools, then Sada appears and talks to you. After that well, try it yourself to see! After the cutscene I am unsure what you can do next but you can make a video on it later if you want.
Nothing to do with the book you get, unfortunately, but it does give a new title screen
You don’t even need to have Terapagos in your party, as long as you’ve caught it the cutscene will play out. I only know this because I had Terapagos in the box when I activated the cutscene
if you talk to arven afterwards he'll assume you borrowed a copy of the book from the library, and say that the book "holds lots of memories for us"
For the starters, it's sad that there's no inbetween generation codes, for those that are missing a complete generation of starters, but don't want to grind BBQs points. It's not about being lazy, it's about time management. :-)
I do not have BB quest yet but I herd it's easy to get BB points even more of you do it in a group
@@ultmewtwo It costs 3000 points to upgrade the biomes, most BBQs only give between 20-40 points, with the special ones unlocked after 10 of them being 130-200 points. the group ones give between 400-600.
@@matthewgriffin9799 that dose not mean you can't upgrade it if you grind points also the flying threw the rings can be replay and you can get 500 points for beating hard mode that's good thing for all players to grind

This would be awesome if more people bought Scarlet. For the paradoxes, I've only been getting other Violet players or people who have Scarlet, but try to trade some random shiny garbage (like a shiny ditto or something).

Just a tip if they end up never making the paradox legendaries available in tera raids, just trade for the ones not in your game and put them in home or in your pc, whatever you feel like, then make a new account on your switch and play through the game, beat the game, beat the teal mask, then just put 200 pokemon in pokemon home from your main account so you can get the 200 required to unlock the paradox legendaries, catch them and put them in pokemon home, you can then put them in your main account of scarlet or violet if you felt like it or leave them in home. But I think this should be a last resort only done if they don't make the paradox legendaries into raid dens at some point since beating the whole game and beating teal mask can't take a good couple days.
Another tip if you decide to go this route, put your starter from your new account into pokemon home and take that starter on your main account and make it level 100 and since it's your alt accounts ot it will obey you even at level 100, then i would speedrun the teal mask before beating the game so the levels arent boosted and the teal mask can still be cleared with a single pokemon with ease. Then beat the game. You can make multiple level 100s with the strat I mentioned or once you beat the elite 4 and become champ you can just put your op team from your main account in pokemon home and put them on your alt, there's only like one required battle in the indigo disk before you can register the 200 and catch the paradox legendaries so its up to you if you wanna demolish that 1 required battle or not. Also you need to register pokemon in the teal mask since the NPC that gives the paradox legendary quest won't be in blueberry academy until you do the blood Moon ursuluna quest. But you can just do the same strat and put the pokemon you wanna register in pokemon home from your main account and do it that way
You can also do the new account method to get both box art legendaries, trade for the one you don't have, beat the game on your alt, catch box art, put box art in home, and you're done easy peazy

Ever since the first generation, I've always gotten both games and 2 gaming systems. It makes sure I will always be able to do the trades I want to do.

Yeah. The thing here is, paying a total of $70!! just to to get the other two legendaries. That's the part that sucks. You're literally buying a 3rd premium game at that point.

This sounds great since Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt are the only two I need for my dex, but I always get attached to my legendaries/special Pokémon so I think I'm gonna do what I did for completing my Pokédex in Shield and just play through a new file, get the Iron Boulder and Iron Crown from there, and just trade those through Pokémon Home. It's kinda annoying to do, but at least that'll give me a lot of extra Pokémon to trade if needed
The annoying thing is you have to complete almost the entire blueberry pokedex first before you can get access to the two new legendaries
@@TheSleepyWarlord Yeah that's true. I actually ended up caving in and just bought Scarlet, still waiting for it to come, so I can just get the new ones that way. I'm not really exited about having to replay the whole game to get up to that point, but at least with the Pokédex thing I can transfer most of them from Home to register them and just do the ones I still need. Kinda annoying to have to do the Kitakami one too though since in order to get Perrin to even show up you need to complete the Bloodmoon Beast quest which I think you need 150 Pokémon in your dex to be able to do it
I'm honestly thinking about picking up an used copy of Violet since I really don't wanna risk losing my paradox beasts, but that means I'll have to buy the DLC again too and idk if I wanna give Gamefreak the pleasure lmao
@@-memoria-2136 Yeah I get that. I did get Scarlet and the DLC, but I actually managed to get Gouging Fire through the GTS in Home. Someone wanted a Pharaoh trim Furfrou which I managed to get from trading a Kubfu from a different playthrough of Shield I did to get spare legendaries. As for Raging Bolt, I ended up having to trade that Gouging Fire which I was trying so hard to avoid
Honestly as someone who likes the Unova paradox legend ones more, but does like Walking Wake still, I would wanna trade with someone to get maybe just Cobalion for Raikou paradoxes, the Entei one is cool enough for me to keep, and luckily we do get both Walking Wake and Iron Leaves thanks to the Poké Portal.
But then I'd lose it forever ofc (unless I spent more money to get nintendo online for another account and most importantly spend a hundred hours to get to that point again and transfer it over to my main file And yeah, not worth it)
and I'd feel extra stupid if the opposites just get put out as Raids. And having already caught the one, I wouldn't be able to catch it from the online raid, I don't think?
But trading back and forth doesn't affect it right? Just curious. But I'm not gonna risk it if I can just get it from the raid event anyway. I was hopeful they'd put one out. Maybe after winter, or just within a couple months so people have had time to finish all the current dlc.

you could always do what i did when i needed miraidon, save to home, once you've completed as much of the dex as you can without it and then delete the save and start over adding back in the pokemon you had in home this way you'll have two goughing fire and raging bolt and then can trade one of them
I did the codes for the Paradox 'mons stupidly before watching this video (I'm a longtime viewer). I assumed it would be touch trade, but lost both of my Scarlet legendaries. So shattered, as I needed them with my OT for the Living Dex... Will have to start a new Scarlet save file to get them back... or do people reckon I should wait a few months and see if we can get additional ones in raids? 😪
