I forgot one thing the wheel feel good there are almost zero delay while playing but in this video it's look like it has a little bit of delay but in reality it's not the reason that make it's look like it has a little bit of deley is my editing skill lol
Hi Felix, great Video! I am about to make something similar. But for the love of god i can't find a somewhat accessable "tutorial" for Newbies in the SimRacer Scene. I am pretty ok with electronics and stuff and did/do quiet a lot of DIY Projects. Can u just quickly answer one short question? I have an Arduino Uno, (some Nanos). I bought an Encoder and will buy a second hand Hoverboard. So i will have 2 Motors. Also have some Hobby-grade FPV-Drone ESC's which can handle up to 35A at 24 Volts. What else do i need to get this working? Do i need this STM Board or an ODrive or something similar? I hope you can help because after 4 Hours of research i didn't come to a conclusion :/ Thank you very much in advance!
first of all arduino uno and nanos cant be use we need MCU that support HID Encoder depend on which kind of encoder you bough you might be able to use it drone esc cant be use because we need something call FOC
depend on which Odrive you using the one i'm using is easy all i have to do is switch the DIP switch to DFU and powering the board connect usb then upload HEX to the board via STM32CUBE PROGRAMMER
Hi Felix, first of all, the system you made is beautiful and second of all is how much did it cost because I really want a better wheel, I right now have a wheel from 2007, A Logitech Driving Force Pro and I want an upgrade but because of the country that I life in everything is super expensive. Is there any way for me to contact you so maybe you could show me how to do it?
Well if you have to buy everything it's should cost around 150$ But in my case I'm using a lot of recycle part so it's a bit cheaper it's cost me around 120$ the price is not including pedals btw also it's depend on where did you buy all your stuff in my case I'm living in SEA so I buy almost everything on SHOPEE.com it's quite cheap compare to others Here's the forum where people talking about this DIY wheel thingy www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/dd-wheel-with-hoverboard-motor.13178/page-30 there are quite a bit of people ready to help you just asking in there
@@mertsuntur6225I'm not proud to say this but You can find the clone one for 60$ in aliexpress It's call Odrive 3.5 single It's basically Odrive 3.6 cut in haft
Its a hoverboard motor but actually any brushless motor should work but this type of motor(brushless outrunner) should do the best since they made focus on the torque not the rpm
No its peak at around 15Nm so at 55% i shoud get around 8.2Nm but its depends on a lot of factor like in game setting and to prevent clipping i have to lower in game ffb so i dont really care about numbers i just use the one that i feel good with it
@Felix-wu1zv I get it. Was just curious. I am thinking about making a formula type wheel with this motor built into it like the new cammus ffb wheels that came out. 15 peak is acctually perfect. I was also thinking about making motion actuators with them. Perfect power for that also. My brain is excited. Lol

Could u do a complete explanation of the whole thing in one video it would be very helpful..
Please take video how you build.
Hello, do you have schematics of this project?

Checking the link in the description there are more info in there on what you need
Let me ask, after following the connection diagram, is it easy to install the program?

@@Felixnelsonsr How do you connect the encoder to the hoverboard? Do you have instructions? If so, please let me know. Thank you bro.

No it's not possible brushless motor need motor controller to work

What is the maximum steering angle?
1080 degree
