Aaron, Try this: Use closed cell foams in the tires they absorb minimal to no water, then use a leather punch with the 1/8th punch setting on opposite sides of the tires to release a majority of the water.
What you could do with the water in the tires is drill 4 small holes in the center of the tire in the middle of the treads not in to the treads them selfs and make each hole appose each other. I have seen alot of people do it. And it works awesome. I got this tip from my uncle originally he has been racing R/C pro for a good 20 years and even runs his own little R/C rapair shop. The only thing you make sure of while doing it is Have a brand new very sharp drill bit and drill in the rubber as straight as possible. and don't put any pressure on the drill let the drill bit do all the work so you get a nice round hole. With a nice round hole you never have to worry about the tire ripping. I have done it to all 4 my tires and it works like a charm and even works while driving it. the faster you go the better it works.
Aha! Now u have something to shovel your driveway outside for ya, in the winter. U can just stay stay inside and let it shovel your snow. ! Cool project!!!!
The water issue is part of the reason I have beadlocks on everything that goes into water, so I can disassemble and let everything dry out if need be. I tried the sealed tires and no foams once and didn't like how bouncy the truck felt. I also had Dewalt motors on my E-Maxx at one point and wasn't impressed. Upgraded to a Mamba Max and the trucks a blast now. On 4s it'll do a back flip from a stand still.
Have the same wheels and tires on my emaxx. Poked two small holes in opposite sides of the center of the tire treads with a small drill bit to let the water out. Tires have been under water many times, and once back on dry land the water spins out of the small holes I poked. Works pretty well for me.
Oh oh my single Kershaw 750 fired up in a rocky riverbed third run at crawling speeds .now i am back on the bulletproof Titan.Have only one "constantly" proplem broken Spiders even with correct shimming .My Summit do 95% river crawling and 5% higher speeding. But i love this truck.(fifth year) Important constantly Service "all" ball bearings even in the two Speed box after mud, snow or river runs!
Also running trencher x's and the dual 700 setup on my summit, plus outerwear with a zip tie on each to tighten them up to the front of the motors. For the esc I cut a strip of plastic from a large face guard I use in my shop to make a mount above the rear suspension, bent sort of like a |¨| shape with the 'legs' down to either side. Believe I screwed those in with existing screws belonging to the battery compartment, details evade me and I will not be home for a few days still sadly. Pretty tough plastic, so it does not move that much while still having a little shock absorption.
Hey medic, one quick question..... Have you ever considered a traxxas revo? That is what I have and LOVE it, you should do a vote on if you should get one or not
Seeing all your content makes me really want to get back into RC's! Maybe here in a few months I'll pick up a summit. Just got done building a $3,000 PC and being a pilot for Horizon Airlines doesn't pay well (less than a McDonalds worker... lol)
Just a thought; do you have a vacuum sealer? If so, squeeze out a much water as you can, place one wheel and tire in a long length of vacuum bag and vacuum seal it. It should put enough pressure on the tire to squeeze out the water. Make sure you use an oversized length of vacuum seal bag to hold the water. Deep thoughts by man on a toilet. Nice vid! My Summit is due for tires. I like to crawl. Any recommendations?
drill 4 holes on the face of each tire. turn the truck upside down and run it full throttle till all the water is out of the tires. that's what traxxas customer support tells you to do. then you never have to worry about water because it will always clean them selfs out
If u drill tiny holes around the tires they will eject the water when u get up to speed and if done clean with a drill you don't even see the holes works great on my kits
I have the same tyres on my e-revo and I plugged them to keep the sand out as there's more sand than water here. Just used some shoe goo I had, works like a charm. They still balloon like crazy though.
This is great mate, my Summit is in serious need of maintenance, I am moving house soon, so just waiting on that. Do you ever have trouble with the gear pin turning when you go to lock the diffs? Have you done any vids about this? mine get quite tight sometimes and don't want to turn.
Take a skewer and at a minimum of 4 points poke holes in the center of the tires. A few high revs will pizza-dish the water to the center of the tires where it can fling out
u may or may not know already but, poke holes evenly adjacent on the tires. I usually drill 4 holes. Use the centifugal spinning force to rid of trapped water. Theres no need to change or trash a totally good set. But if u shud choose to do so, u can send em my way. lol
to get the water out of the tires drill 4 holes across from each other and spin them it will get a los of the water out then seal the holes with CA glue
Could you please make another vid about upgrading the ecx torment if u still have it bc I just got one and am looking for things to upgrade. The only thing I have upgraded so for is hot new proline trenches for rear and jconcept g logs for he front...
Medic! I have a question . Would it be possible to affix a snowplow to one of the losi 5ive's? Just curious might make for a neat video. Or do they not like to run in the cold ?
They run just fine I the cold but in order to plow snow you have to drive fairly slow and they don't really have that much torque at low RPM's you have to give it some gas and then you'll be doing 300MPH with a snowplow that wont stay on the ground when the truck squats from the torque. Also it doesn't have a reverse gear so it would suck to plow with. :-)
I love my my kershaw designs summit transmission. I run duel dewalt 14.4v motors. Absolute overkill but very fun on 6S. (Yes the 14.4v can take 6s lipos, they love to be over volted)! You should check out LEM "Leading Edge Machine". They sell a bunch of upgrades for the differentials and transmission.
I was just about to look at a couple of reviews of the Savöx SW0231MG as I accidentaly, on purpose - ordered 2 of them for my Gelände 2 D110 and as a backup for my Traxxas Slash. I guess you saved me some time. :-)
I almost forgot about this truck. As soon as I saw the twin motors I was like " I remember that ". Anytime you see a group of guys trailing with the usual scx10's, pathfinders etc. there's always a summit in there as well. What makes it acceptable as a trail truck being that it's basically a monster truck??? Just curious Medic... Can't wait to see it in action again.
What are those red protectors for the brushed motors? I tried Googling every variation of what I thought they might be called and I can't find anything I need that for my trail trucks please let me know
medic i have the same motor setup and my pinion only touches have the spur and there the pinions the motors came with any idea why they dont fully touch
Nice video. I wanted a summit, until I heard it had a plastic transmission gears. But I still want a summit. In your opinion do the transmission gears fail a lot sing plastic, and do they make steel gears to replace them?
hey i have a Hitec X1 Plus charger and I have 2 batteries both have 6 cells and different capacity. So I was playing with the SAVE function that the charger provided. In that function, it asks for battery type, mAh and Voltage. What voltage should i set it to 7.2 or 1.2
I used to have one and it was pretty cool but it takes a lot of maintenance and 2 batteries so unless you have a ton of batteries it's hard to run it a lot.
i have a traxxas.. when I hook the battery up it immediately start running as if im holding down the throttle and wont stop. any idea why and how to fix?
All you have to do to get the water out is just drill 2 small holes in the tire and gas it the water will all come out with no problems and as long as you don't drill out the tread you should be fine
I have the same tires and rims. What I did was used a soldering iron to melt 3 holes equal distance apart from each other around the outside circumference of the tire in the center of the tread pattern. Then when you drive the centrifugal force with force the water out. After driving in water make a high speed run on dry pavement and you will leave two trails of water!
I do the same. Holes right in the middle of the tire. Also the foams that www.rccrawler.com/forum/tires-wheels/514591-crawler-innovations-review-yeti-xl-raceline-3-8-wheel-3-8-r35-bfg-krawler-tire.html Is the way to go!
Called outerwear motor filter. Can probably get them all over the place, but I got mine at kershawdesigns com/MotorCare htm Same place the dual setup in the vid comes from.
Does anybody know were to find the cheapest but best long range reciver (like a mile range) lol. Because my exceed rc sc truck has horrible range maybe like 3 feet. And servo possibly? Thx :)
I love your work Medic continue !!!!
Cant wait to see the summit back to life!!!
Thanks for taking us along for the ride Medic! Happy New Year to you and your family, I hope everyone is back to 100% health. Cheers.

Yes more summit videos! Keep it up medic.
happy new year hope you and you family have a great year and thanks for keeping us entertained all year

Very nice video and very nice Summit :)

My Summit is due for tires. I like to crawl. Any recommendations?
What i have done sometimes is put 2 litte cuts in the tires 180 degrees apart thats way once you speed up the water slings out
I wish I could afford an rc. I've been watching you for a few years your awesome
@Memer Dreamer dang I can't believe that was 7 years ago, sadly at this point I've gotten into a more expensive hobby which is real life cars😭🤣
@Memer Dreamer it's all good man
drill 4 holes on the face of each tire. turn the truck upside down and run it full throttle till all the water is out of the tires. that's what traxxas customer support tells you to do. then you never have to worry about water because it will always clean them selfs out

Drill a small hole in the middle of the tire . I did it to my Stampede and it works perfect .
Did that to my summit tires and it works great 👍🏾
Brilliant truck would love one myself! Nice vid as usual 😄😄😄😜
This is great mate, my Summit is in serious need of maintenance, I am moving house soon, so just waiting on that.
Do you ever have trouble with the gear pin turning when you go to lock the diffs?
Have you done any vids about this? mine get quite tight sometimes and don't want to turn.
I just got a ruckus ecx for Christmas and it is a beat
Take a skewer and at a minimum of 4 points poke holes in the center of the tires. A few high revs will pizza-dish the water to the center of the tires where it can fling out
I really like your videos😮
u may or may not know already but, poke holes evenly adjacent on the tires. I usually drill 4 holes. Use the centifugal spinning force to rid of trapped water. Theres no need to change or trash a totally good set. But if u shud choose to do so, u can send em my way. lol
Hey medic what do u like better the vaterra raptor or the tracks slash
Is it a good idea to put a winch on the summit yes or no
Cool video 😃
to get the water out of the tires drill 4 holes across from each other and spin them it will get a los of the water out then seal the holes with CA glue
Could you please make another vid about upgrading the ecx torment if u still have it bc I just got one and am looking for things to upgrade. The only thing I have upgraded so for is hot new proline trenches for rear and jconcept g logs for he front...
I would also like it to under 200

Any tips for running them in water, tyre wise
I had the exact same problem with the tires as you had with my rc B44.1 to stop that I put window putty and fill in tat hole in the rim.
Adhesive wall putty works awesome to cover the holes on the inside of the wheels. I've used it on my wheels and no water gets in.
I am new to this sport so can explaine what boiling the tires does
What are those red protectors for the brushed motors? I tried Googling every variation of what I thought they might be called and I can't find anything I need that for my trail trucks please let me know
I have a summit and do you do anything to waterproof it
medic i have the same motor setup and my pinion only touches have the spur and there the pinions the motors came with
any idea why they dont fully touch
Nice video. I wanted a summit, until I heard it had a plastic transmission gears. But I still want a summit. In your opinion do the transmission gears fail a lot sing plastic, and do they make steel gears to replace them?
So rare I ever had a transmission problem.. they are HUGE!
@@TheRealRCSparks thanks very much. I am probably going to get one. Love the truck
hey man I was wondering were I can get an rc chevy pickup truck I looked in most places and they don't have one or they are either very expensive
really interesting video. I wish I had a summit too!!
How much was your summit and where did you get it
Hi medic when will you bring out a video of your vaterra 1986 k-5 blazer?
Nice vid 👍👌
Can you give a full list of the upgrades you have and the prices? Thanks ur vids r great
Whats the best upgrade for the mini e revo???
Has that table been in North Dakota
Drill a few holes around the tire and centrifugal force will do the rest ;)
Can u do a video of the telluride?
I really enjoyed this video medic. Do you have the apocalypse body already or is it in the mail. I can't wait to see it!
hey i have a Hitec X1 Plus charger and I have 2 batteries both have 6 cells and different capacity. So I was playing with the SAVE function that the charger provided. In that function, it asks for battery type, mAh and Voltage. What voltage should i set it to 7.2 or 1.2
Hey medic how do you do air filled tires can you make a video please
I would really like to own a Summit myself, but those things are expensive as hell! :D
Yup would love one too😝
I used to have one and it was pretty cool but it takes a lot of maintenance and 2 batteries so unless you have a ton of batteries it's hard to run it a lot.
Dang that's a lot
They offer one now with a good set of lipos, totally worth it, I own 1 and is the most fun to drive stock rc in my opinion.
I can't recommend this truck enough. My only problem is i live in Houston, now hills or mountains to climb. except for overpasses.
hey medic so im looking for a new car what should i get?
cool trucks
what kind of esc should i get for a 20 turn motor
I'm going to purchase my summit next week the green 1
I have the same tires and did same thing from water. I put a hole in them using a knife and the water rushed out.
Is that fan waterproof?
i have a traxxas.. when I hook the battery up it immediately start running as if im holding down the throttle and wont stop. any idea why and how to fix?
u just reminded me i should squeeze the water out of my slash tires
ethan dezwart Don't you do it after each run?
+Patrick Paré Never done it lol
Are these cars sutible for 9 years of age
And what country do you liv in
I have always wanted a summit my self how much are they
can you do a video on a vaterra k5 blazer
my traxxas stampede vxl has an esc fan but still overheats. do you know how i could keep my motor and esc temp down?
Google it
gear it down
You should, check your gear mesh, check for seized bearings, or gear it down. If you have to buy a fan, you are pushing it too hard.
thanks
you also could be running in grass to much.
I bought this motor conversion for my emaxx I hope it's good
Vent the tires that's what I did works really good
All you have to do to get the water out is just drill 2 small holes in the tire and gas it the water will all come out with no problems and as long as you don't drill out the tread you should be fine

Which ESC is this? EVX-2?
hey medic u should check out the losi mini 8ight T and do some things to it only reason I ask is because I have one and I love it
do u know were i can get some grippy wheeles
if you punch a hole in the tread centrifugal force will push the water out. works well.
really?
George silliman
yes really. its not going to completely
dry the foam out but reduces the amount of water by a lot.
More summit videos!!!
turn the pinion around the grub is on the end of the shaft
what is that red bag thing around the motor and who makes them
Called outerwear motor filter. Can probably get them all over the place, but I got mine at kershawdesigns com/MotorCare htm
Same place the dual setup in the vid comes from.
Nicmadis Thanks
Hey everyones. Maybe will advise a bedlock rims for this tires?

Does anybody know were to find the cheapest but best long range reciver (like a mile range) lol. Because my exceed rc sc truck has horrible range maybe like 3 feet. And servo possibly? Thx :)
