For a short, glittering moment it really did seem like the world could change and for the better. We blew it. But I was there and saw it.
A song that gave us all hope that the world was going to be a better place.

Adversities and struggle. Scorpions blow away most acts they perform with. I saw this for myself when I attended “The Summer Strut” at Anaheim stadium. They made all others look like garage bands. Long live Rudolph!!
When Scorpions came to Red Rocks in 2012, and before they sang "Wind of Change", Klaus repeated a Rudolf Schenker quote, "We wanted to show the people in Russia that here is a new generation of Germans growing up, and they're not coming with tanks and guns and making war - they're coming with guitars and rock 'n' roll and bringing love!" and then he broke out in his perfect whistle.
I was privileged to get to know them in 2007 and I kept in touch with the guitar player, Matthias, who sent all sorts of swag for contests I would hold online. I got to see them several times and in my old/er age, it's memories I will carry me to my death. The sweetest bunch of rockstars you will meet.
NOTE: Klaus wrote this song in 1989 before the fall of the Berlin Wall, when the mega rock concert in Russia was held, called "Moscow Music Peace Festival". He was walking down the street and got the lyrics running through his head and the rest is history. BTW you have got to view some of that RUclips footage, it's amazing. Several bands played, but Scorpions put most of them to shame. There were around 100,000 in attendance. Footage of some of that is in this video.

The Scorpions formed in 1965 from Hanover Germany ❤️ I’ve had the privilege to see them live 11 times over time. They are amazing live in concert ❤️

Scorpions have been around since the 70's. This song was on an album that came out right when the Berlin Wall came down in Germany. This band is from Germany. Check out Rock You Like A Hurricane, No One Like You, or The Zoo

At a time when this song was much needed in the world. The song is just as relevant today as it was back then. Another song that is raining true today but written in the 90’s. Megadeath Holy Wars about the Middle East and Israel.
As a teenager in the 80s this was such a powerful and much needed song. This signled the end of the cold war.

This song and video are so nostalgic for me and most likely others who grew up in the 80’s. I remember the Berlin Wall coming down in 89 like it was yesterday. I was 10. Thanks for the reaction. What a voice!!
Seriously though, still brings a tear to my eye. I am 45 and we had a few years of no war or chaos. I just want to go back in time especially prior to 2020. I’m actually pretty worried for the future. 😢

The very first time I heard this was while watching a Filipino cover band in Singapore. They nailed it, (including the whistle) I had been at sea so didn't get to hear it before that.

Such hope for world peace in 1992. When East and West Germany were finally reuinted. The fall of communism in Europe. Figured we could FINALLY all be one people. Seems we have fallen right back into the old world of thinking again. Hating others because they are different. I want this feeling from 1992 back again!

It was the fall of communism & socialism in Europe , The song became an anthem for people around the world, who wanted freedom in the society that followed human rights and civil laws - unfortunately, for some unknown reason, some of the younger generation are starting to think the antisemitism and socialism is a cool thing. Well when you have stupid people making dumb decisions you get bad results. And there’s a boat load of stupid people in positions of economic and social power, and some of them are teachers too. I live in the US and I’m from the San Francisco Bay area and Kamala Harris is running for president. She has been a disaster since she was a DA of San Francisco. Those are the type of people that are causing the issues and they’re too stupid to even know it Not book stupid just decision-making stupid .

I got to see the Scorps and Mötley Crüe ant the second Best venue besides red rocks was the gorge in George Washington state. We camped we partied we rocked that weekend. RUclips the venue and you’ll see what I’m saying about the second best outside of red rocks.
