The waves there on the beaches are no joke! When i was there i swear the some of waves were 12-15ft before they crashed infront of us. We didnt get to fish too long and didnt catch anything. Great to see you had some luck. I hear the best season for surf fishing there is in the spring.

We were on the western side of Cabo in February.
I caught scierra mackerel each morning throwing a 40g silver spoon.
Can't wait to get back.

Nice, tried fishing again here in NC after as a coldfront passed. Lots of cold rain shut the bite off, landed a puffer fish, an atlantic spade. And lost a nice fish on the last sandbar(super steep slope) on a spoon. Very last cast i had casted way too hard and sliced my finger with the braid and the 4oz sinker didnt help, so called it a day after the last 6hrs with no bites. I think coldfronts and tropical storms really make fishing hard

Enjoy the rest of your trip.I was surf fishing at a state park in SC.yesterday..figured I'd throw some mullet minnows durring on\off rain.minnows were 5 " or so .bigger than I prefer..borrowed gear.weight was too light ,too heavy,khale hooks were right size for the minnows I wanted..hooked 5 heavy somthings.?.10 ish + lbs.almost saw 11 was scaled.think it has to be a good flounder.others? .a lot of stretch in the line .you name it. Wasn't used to any of it.water was warm & cold mix..a lot of deep sand bar soup.looked like red drum water .dk.smaller sharks.?.no matter.good fo r the soul.almost cool enough H2o...next.... time .next time! Have fun

Sierra mackerel are very good eating, especially smoked . Griseldas Smoke House on the marina does an excellent job smoking your catch for the trip home.

@@BamaBeachBum since I was 10 years old my father use to takes us tuna, yellow tail,barracuda, halibut, mexican sheepshead and snapper fishing all in one day... The rooster fish are usually on the pacific side of Cabo brother...you will need to rent a 4 wheeler or that american that has the tackle shop will point you in the right direction...
..the fish are biting..lol...good one ,have a safe week and enjoy..

Highly unlikely .. but possible.. he would have better luck 50-150ft depths patty hopping or looking for surfacing yellowtail / bluefin

Headed to Playa Del Carmen with the family in March and I’m planning on bringing a travel rod with me for some beach fishing. I’ve heard different opinions on requirements for beach fishing, everything from “no license required for catch and release” to “must be license” to “no beach fishing allowed”. Do you have the 411 on the requirements for beach fishing in Mexico? Is a license required and if so, where dose one purchase a license? It’s not the easiest information to find online. Thanks! You are in Jansen's country; you should have looked up the Dutchman. Cabo is awesome, the whole Sea of Cortez is unlike anything else in the world. Good video, have fun!
