E6000 takes about 24 hours to dry. For added strength I would definitely use it in addition to the hot glue. Hot glue over time on a glossy surface will loosen and come apart. Just my opinion....but your teacups are absolutely stunning! Very much looking forward to more videos!!❤️❤️❤️
Thinks for the tip. I have collected a lot of teacups and saucers and wanted to try and make these. I'll be sure to use the E6000 along with a hot glue gun.
This DYI is absolutely gorgeous, a beautiful artistic display for a Tea Table setting. I will definitely make some of these floating displays for my table settings at our Annual Ladies Christmas Tea Party. Thank you for sharing and posting. God Bless Candy from Grenada.
Thank you so much for your videos!!! your film has launched a new hobby for me. Here is suggestion for increasing the stability of your arrangements. instead of using decorative tile or stones, use a tea plate or as we call in the USA, a bread and butter plate, it adds stability like you would not believe!! Thanks for introducing me to a new hobby
Aw Yr phoebe hasn't changed a single bit x beautiful DIY becky and American diy'ers love the e6000 x it's taken alot of flowers becky, you could have used the moss from poundland around the flowers in the saucer, I seen somebody haul it from the easter craft section x
Very nice.. I love them, they are beautiful. Am trying to make... I used the E6000 to glue the forks to the saucer and cup.. my first one I let set for several hours.. As I was putting on the flowers, the cup fell off.. now, am letting them set up for 24 hours or more.. I propped up the cup with a can .. after several hours, I started putting on the rocks for weight on the saucer and then glued on flowers and shells.. will take the can from under the cup after 72 hours and hope they hold together...I used the glue gun for the rocks and flowers... they are beautiful and I love the idea... want to make to give to my sister at Thanksgiving..
yes I agree I had the same problem I don't know how many different types of glue I tried but it does look so nice when its done love yours they look amazing
wow! Becky what a lovely idea, I've often wondered how it was done, looks amazing and so effective, will definitely be giving it a try, love it, tfs 😊😊 xxx
I felt like my room was missing something so I did this DIY and that’s when beauty entered my room. Edit:I used stones as my weighters💖love ur channel,at 20:57 can u plz do a vid about decorating that box in the right bottom corner bc I got mine from the works and I really would love to see a vid about that.Great channel keep it up!💓
What if you tried a round glass tumbler for the weight you need on the saucer. You could fill it with Styrofoam or oasis to do your flowers in. This is a great idea I'm going to try . Thanks
I also do crafts I experiment with different glues. The best is clear silicon in a tube. I have yard art that I gave as gifts years ago and they are still holding. I figure if it holds windows, tiles, it will hold dishes and plates together. The only downside is you need to let the pieces cure, I found 24 hours best. I assemble pieces then sit aside and work on another project. Hope this helps. Happy crafting
Becky .. You have the cutest shabby chic ideas .. Looking at the project from the web .. Is adorable .. Have you thought about angling the cup somewhat slanting down .. It gives more of a tipping ..pouring of the cup. I had made some for a community sale .. I had to bend mine to look more like the cup was pouring .. Just Sharing my thoughts. 😊
These cups are beautiful, i have some of the twin syringe glue (got it from poundland ) so i might try to do 1 for my bedroom as i have a small bunch of roses that are a perfect colour but look odd where i have them (i still haven't finished my room yet but put my 2m shelf up)
When using E6000 you got to put a bit of hot glue on your project along with the E6000 it will hold the thing your glueing in place while the E6000 sets up.
Becky You did a fab job on both. Epoxy glue would be very good for the project next time. You have given me a great Idea for my Nice's wedding in July, wouldn't they make very pretty center pieces for the tables ? Love from Ireland xxx
Try making a ridge on the underside of the plate in a thick row to keep it from tipping or use some small rocks glued into place. Then no need to weigh down the plate.

Sandi Clark yes it didn't work very well. I'm going to try gorilla glue next time x
Thinks for the tip. I have collected a lot of teacups and saucers and wanted to try and make these. I'll be sure to use the E6000 along with a hot glue gun.
gina cooper hi Gina, you could also try epoxy glue as that may work better x
Sandi Clark

Hi, I use to be a China restorer, we used epoxy resin this will be really strong. X

Hi Goldie, welcome to Becky's crafts and goodies :-)

I think you would find dish sinker fishing weights might work a little better than the tiles, buy from any tackle shop usually around 50p
