No. It’s used for 1) reflexive verbs; 2) impersonal pronouns; 3) passive voice; 4) explaining reciprocity (example: Se hablaron despues de cenar= they talked TO EACH OTHER after eating lunch)
No se usan zapatos en la casa. No se come pescado aquí.
@@JohnnyZenith I have been learning the language for 30 years so it might not be 100% right but I think you don't have to use it but its like a shortcut or another way to say it. Sometimes as I've read things with. the (se) in it I've translated it like we do in English . So either word works.Example, please we don't wear shoes in the house. Good luck, keep learning. poco a poco.
Exactly. Often in English people say "you" for the impersonal "se". Like in your example, we would say "no se debería hacer eso" because it's talking about people in general, not any specific person.
I just have one question to ask because I saw a person from Argentina did it like this is it possible that you can omit the (se) like for example instead of say it like this. I even see some of them put it in the second person but I think it's bad Spanish for example si quieres buenas notas tienes que estudiar when I heard the person said that in the second person I told them you talking about me the person replied no I'm not talking about you I'm talking in a general sense I said what you put it in the second person so I don't know if that is a native thing

'Se' can equal the 'Royal You' of English?
"He __ (did something)."
"You (not actually addressing the other) shouldn't do that."
Exactly. Often in English people say "you" for the impersonal "se". Like in your example, we would say "no se debería hacer eso" because it's talking about people in general, not any specific person.
