Unfortunately not all of us are nearly rich enough or experienced enough to fund and/or make this project. But there have been an 8-bit version of megaman 8, so maybe this isn’t impossible
Ah yes. This particular remix got me through my sophomore year finals in high school. Just sitting in the computer lab and bumping this while researching. Great stuff
Anyone who whined that the X8 soundtrack wasn't "as good as the 16-bit games" should listen to this video. Seriously. This is beautifully executed and, as far as I can tell, stays true to the original tune AND the sound limitations and instruments of the 16-bit Rockman X games.
wow this video came about 10 years ago, when i used to play megaman x8....those were my golden days...school..video games..cartoons..life was reall good and peaceful...and it hurts realizing you cant get back to those days 😢😢
Haha yeah, I can definitely relate for sure. I have to fight for time to do that kind of stuff anymore... Squeeze it in where it never seems long enough, or else sacrifice a bunch of sleep and struggle trying to function the next day. Sometimes that's worth it, though. Hang in there and try to make the most of what you have! :) Thanks for the comment.
@@ReavoEnd man this video of yours is a real gem...it took me back to my some real good times...i can come here whenever i want to feel good so thanks to you too for uploading such video ❤
Man!! that's the most beaultiful snes style song that i have ever listened!! it's trully awesome!!! i've got tears all over my face! thanks for the great piece my friend ;)
Yeah, it sounds pretty cool, but I think for the main sound of the song (the opening of the song that plays throughout it) makes it seem like the song would sound better in X1 soundfont with that main opening sound using the same guitar sound from X1's Stage Select theme.
X9 should just be, well, *X9* and not try to be Megaman X1 - 3 with the snes style, Megaman 11 looks good I wanna see them do that same style but with X9
@megamanxz1 Thanks haha. Yeah it's true, the instrument clarity is higher than the SNES would produce, only because the samples I used are direct rips from the game's memory. When the game itself uses those samples, it adds its own set of effects to them, from varying forms of reverb to chorus to vibrato, and also some inadvertent "effects" that cause the samples to be rendered with less clarity than they have as stored in memory, if that makes any sense. If this could be converted to SPC form..
@Overwa7ch Permission denied, at least for now. This arrangement was created especially for use in GameDragon's MMX Engine, which will be a public, open-source engine upon release, and will come with a demo level or two. Because the demo will be open-source, I'm sure anyone will then be free to use this arrangement of Jakob's Elevator in their creations.
Totally badass even after all these years!!! 😁😁😁🙂 I love it *I like it even more than the actual track from X8, in which I'll admit it was good, I always wanted to think about what it would sound like if it was on snes, not that a ps1 version wouldn't be bad, but hearing it on the snes soundfont of the x games would make it more fitting 🙂
@SabreMage Then it could be played back with the same sort of more "muddied" levels of sample/instrument clarity that sounds more like it's playing on the SNES. Interestingly, it's possible to extract the original MMX1-3 OSTs from their SNES roms as tracker files, which can then be played back with the clarity of the original samples. It sounds really good, and quite different from how it sounds in-game!
@HyperKenny1991 Yeah haha I've been thinking about that since I finished this. Would be interesting, especially to capture the few 3D elements in 2D. Avalanche Yeti's ride chaser stage in 2D would be really interesing, since there was only one throughout all of MMX 1-3.
@SabreMage If Anything I think It would be Changes around COMPLETELY I would think that the Avalanche Yeti and the Gigabolt stages would Revert mainly back to Platforming. Just a hunch, It's prefer it that way too xD
@drn000 I think that if you'd make it the same length as the original, reformated it into .ogg file and named it the same, the game would propably take it, although I'm not sure, I think I'll give it a try. In case you're wondering, the ingame tracks (at least in PC version) are stored in ogg folder wherever you instaled the game.
@megamanxz1 Hm, I'm not extremely well-informed about the limitations of SNES hardware, but I'm fairly sure I didn't exceed the "instrument/voice" limit at any point in this song. What about it convinces you so?
Someday someone could make Mega Man X9 but in the style of the SNES trilogy with the same instruments from each MMX game (1, 2 and 3) Then Mega Man X10 in the PlayStation Style with music elements from X4, 5 and 6 I dare to see someone make Axl into a 32-Bit Character since people have made him into 16-Bit Sigma could be threatening again, Ailla could have a bigger role in the stories and not be annoying, The party members in Command Mission could be characters in those games too as new Maverick Hunters, Vile would have his own team of Repolid killers with him being the leader, Layer’s crush with Zero could gradually increase to the point Zero notices I could go on but you definitely get my point
@GeneralChaos98 i actually think megaman x9 should be in 3D but still 2D like megaman x8 but the soundtrack should be in SNES form and in the new form except that you can choose which one to hear
A MIDI file was not used. I transposed the song by ear, imported instruments, edited effects and etc. directly within FL Studio.
I salute you
@@theshellderinslowbrostail5422 Me too❤️
Very based
THATS INSANE
Sick work. No wonder the music note sounds a lil different, cool style bruh
This proves that Capcom still has the classic Megaman music intact. this sounds so natural like it was meant to be played back in the SNES days
Wow, I thought this was going to use X1's instruments. Good call going with X3's soundfont.
It would be really awesome if someone managed to convert Megaman X8 into an SNES-style game.
X8 would certainly be easier to do that to than X7.
Unfortunately not all of us are nearly rich enough or experienced enough to fund and/or make this project. But there have been an 8-bit version of megaman 8, so maybe this isn’t impossible
MMX8 SFC ?
Edu TV how’s that going
@Edu TV Do you have any screenshots on any forums?
It reminds me of Tunnel Rhino stage.
its totally rhino stage
yeah these are MMX3 style guitars
Now I want to hear an Xtreme version of this to see if it'll sound like that version
tribute to Bob Marley this

WOW, like, this was released in 2010 and I am seeing this 8 YEARS AFTER ITS RELEASE!? I ONLY MET THIS REMIX NOW!? Oh my, that's seriously amazing!
holy crap this is fucking epic
Ah yes. This particular remix got me through my sophomore year finals in high school. Just sitting in the computer lab and bumping this while researching. Great stuff
I will stay in this elevator forever.
This is ...Incredible
This sounds like Megaman X2's music tracks mood, yet it also reminds me of when Zero went to rescue X in X3's intro stage. Very neatly pulled off! :)
I can't believe that despite the years it still sounds so good, that means it was really made with love and is well made, I LOVE IT!!!!
Holy shit, this is amazing. Where the hell has this been all my damn life?
Hidden among RUclips's billions of videos, waiting for you to discover it...
I'm here just for the MMX8 16-bit demake
This song makes me high in the emotion that I'm on a quest to save someone with X-Buster and Saber at hand...

X3 would be even better. That Toxic Seahorse/Gravity Beetle/Blast Hornet awesomeness.

This should be the intro stage of Mega Man X9, with this very track arrangement.
X9 should just be, well, *X9* and not try to be Megaman X1 - 3 with the snes style, Megaman 11 looks good I wanna see them do that same style but with X9
Yoooooooo dat retro guitar so clean man great job on this 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This mix it's a truly nostalgia trip for me, it's been 12 years and still sounds great.
It's wild to me how this one-off project from way back resulted in something people still find value in to this day. Thanks for listening!
