    I bought the Sonic Pad to replace a dead Pi running OctoPrint. Considering the cost of a Pi right now it made more sense to me to get the Sonic Pad. The first printer (E3 Pro) setup went pretty smooth, just had to figure out the settings for the Sprite Pro extruder. So far I'm liking it. Even without any tuning it's printing faster than before. My Ender 6 will be next.

      I had a total nightmare with my sonic. Besides shipping delays, if you try to add two printers of the same type it fails. (because printers can't have the same name, and the name is generated from the type). Then the accelleromter won't work in the interface (it does work from the console). Then, for reasons of my own stupidity, my mainboard shorted out, and trying to switch to a BTT SKR Mini (the most popular upgrade board for Creality) was unsupported (you need to manually compile and upload klipper to the board, not hard, just annoying).
      Or... I'm just currsed to run into every bug possible.

      @@JustinAlexander1976 Thank You Justin for the info. Answers my questions as to which way to go with my Ender 5 Pro I just attempted to update the board to Creality's 4.2.7 and nothing moves afterwards. Sounds like I got to adjust some wiring/pins somewhere or just buy the SKR Mini and throw klipper instead on it since I'd have to anyway. And it also solves what to do about my two CR-10S's that I had hoped to setup on the Sonic Pad. May just end up getting three new boards for all of them.

      @@stephenjeppesen933 I installed the SKR Mini E3 V3.. amazing board, increadible deal for the money, but.. I tore off the USB Port (i'm having a fun week). @@JustinAlexander1976 hey, if that is the case stop sharing your mojo! You know the hot melt Creality uses on every single connection even the power ones which surprises me considering the mechanical aspects of those, I ended up ripping 4 of the white plugs completely off the old E5 Pro board. Threw them out already so hopefully I haven't also thrown out a pin I wasn't supposed to! Still going to go the BTT SKR Mini route for the three printers though. Just may have some wiring repair to do on the E5 Pro.

    Hey man, its really nice for you to share your experience using Ender-3 S1 Pro with us. I believe, Our World is a Shared Experience.
    Now the bit I want to ask you a favour. I having serious issues printing with my E-3 S1 Pro. First one came, which I had to send it back to Creality so they swap me my present printer. It started Ok, then back to square one. As myself being disabled, I keep finding hard to use the Stock screen that comes with it, so I also bought the Sonic Pad from Creality. After a few hiccups, I managed to make it work. Then all back to square one (x2) again. My models becoming out of shape, coming off even I use Glue Sticks as a precaution. So, I went through every single checks, tighten up all the screws (I found some came loose), reset to factory setting, but cannot win. I Levelled/Re-Levelled the Bed, but when it comes to set up the Probe the Extruder get stuck to the bed and keep pushing down as well as loud noise. I hope I managed to explain my problem, so I will be extremely obliged if you could advice me to resolve this issue.

    Great video! I have a pi 3b sitting idle but I'm also considering the sonic pad due to the screen and the integration with creality printers. I feel like I'd rather spend my time honing my 3d modeling skills rather than learning how to setup klipper on my printers. At least that's what I think now. I do plan to research the process a little bit more to see if it will work and be cheaper.

      Hey ajmckay2, thank you for your kind comment and I agree, the sonic pad is an awesome tool that helps you cut out a lot of the headache of setting up klipper on a Raspberry Pi, thus allowing you to focus on the important part of 3d printing, actually creating stuff, but I see your point if you already have a raspberry pi at home, it might be a cheaper option, I think it comes down to how much technical skill you have and how much time your willing to devote to upgrading to klipper, please let me know what you end up deciding

      that camera mount was a project I did, its a camera mount for the police body cam from getach, which I use at work, I printed it using carbon fiber petg and it connects to MOLLE, I sold it to a bunch of guys at work, thanks for asking😊

    Yes! Please do make a video/series on how to get the Sonic pad running as its best. I have an Ender-3 Pro and do like Octo but the time investment in all the work plus the fact that I can but it as a bundle with a Spider hot end just seems to make it a no-brainer Can you also do a video on the (I assume optional) G-Force attachment? Wondering how I would add that and if it adds value or not.
    BUT I have heard horror stories about an update messing up the Sonic Pad. Is that the case or it that rare or just with unique setups?
    I may still some day do the Pi4B/Pi3B route but at least I have all the benefits and use of my printer right now.
    Also I LOVE the mount! Any chance you can do a video series to show how to use whatever design software you think is best? I already saved 3x more than what my printer costs by printing bushings for my Anderson screen door which they do not sell a new hinge or bushings for. I was even able to make various sizes that accounted for wear too. I also need to learn how to post my STL files on 3d printing sites.

    An update about the SP. It was working great with my MK3s and SV06 Plus. I had everything dialed in and printing better than ever. Then I began having hardware issues. Constant MCU overload errors I couldn't finish a print. I tried contacting support but they said that they do not support non-creality printers and kept closing my tickets. So a note to people who may want one for non-creality printers. You're on your own if you have any hardware issues with the sonic pad. You may want to look in to a Pad 7. For me it was easy enough to configure Klipper using an old computer, kiauh and xubuntu. Very disappointing I really liked the clean look of the Sonic pad in my work area. If I had one creality printer I could have at least pushed support to replace the defective hardware but they wouldn't help at all.

    I have a ender 3 neo- had to set it up with the ender 3 v2 neo for it to work. I also had to change some of the printer.cfg files. Now my print is horrible. It is very thin when it prints. It is not very sturdy. I am using pla+ and have my bed set at 65 and extruder at 215. I have had multiple collapses with larger prints. And when I went to try to get the sonic pad off my printer, the sd card that came with the printer is corrupt, and I can't go back to my original printer screen. I want to use my sonic pad because of the ease of getting to all the options, but I don't know what to do. Can you help? Is there a setting under the printer.cfg that I need to look at? Do I need to make changes to my Ultimaker slicer? I am so frustrated......

    Nice review thanks. I'm still on the fence about getting one for my SV06 plus and Prusa MK3s for the wireless capabilities. After being spoiled with my X1C. Though I think about it and I don't leave spools loaded on my other two because they're all in a damp basement so filament always goes in dry boxes. Also I'm not mass producing anything and I'm basically picking the colors when I dream up something so I'm in the basement anyway. Wireless really doesn't do much for me since I have to go down there anyway. Still its pretty cheap and might be nice to have the two also reachable from upstairs and hook up webcams.

    • @z-made
      @z-made  Год назад

      Hey OliverM3, first of all, thank you for your kind comments, second, I can understand your reservations about whether this would be a good fit for your setup, given that you store your filament in dry boxes and typically work in your basement where you're close to your printers that makes sense. While wireless connectivity may not be a top priority for you, I think the convenience of having your printers accessible from multiple locations and monitoring them remotely with webcams could definitely be a nice benefit. , so it may be worth considering even if you're not mass-producing anything. Ultimately, the decision of whether to invest in a Sonic Pad or not will depend on your personal preferences and workflow. If you do decide to try it out, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how it performs with your SV06 Plus and Prusa MK3S. Thanks again for watching my review!

Will do some research and see what I can do. I have an ender 3 pro as well as a Monoprice maker select plus printet

    Hello, thanks for your videos, do you recommend buying the sonic pad, or continue with raspberry?

    • @z-made
      @z-made  Год назад +1

      That depends on whether you have klipper up and running already on your printer with the raspberry and if a large touch screen is something that interests you, if you already have a raspberry pi running klipper and have access to a touch screen and accelerometer i think you could pass on the sonic pad, but if not then i think the sonic pad is the best bang for your buck upgrade you can get for your 3d printer and it can run 4 different printers at a time

    I am about to return mine but did anyone have problems with bed size? I have ender 3 pro with 4.2.7/sprite/crtouch. With the "built in" profile for it the nozzle crashes into the bed and is not configured correctly.

    • @bigdaddyed88

      @@z-made Z offset is fine it is that the probe is probing off of the bed.

      you might have a problem with your printer config file

    • @z-made
      @z-made  Год назад

      the other thing that might affect this is if maybe you accidentally chose the ender 3 instead of the pro, which has a slightly larger print bed size (the print bed size in actuality not in the print area) and might be the cause of your issue

    I need to correct your grammer sir... you should not say "its more... comfortable". You say: "Its more... better". "More better" is more better. You can even throw an extra "er" on the end, like this: "Its more betterer".
