As soon as I saw that mercy button go, I knew I had to match my determination with the king of all monsters. The only way to end my quest was to toss aside the pacifism that held my determination early on in the story and defeat this one final monster. And boy did it hurt to do that.
+Alucard well, actually you do. Sort of. You can spare at the end when the mercy button repairs itself, but unless it's true pacifist of soulless pacifist, Flowey will kill him.
its a game about monsters and humans have been in war the humans won and banished them so they live underground and sometime there will be a child which falls down and they need 7 human souls to break a barrier so they will be free and asgore has only 6 and you can play in 2 ways pacifist which means you never hurt anyone and get the happy ending or genocide which means you kill EVERYTHING.
And, additionally, in the library it tells you; "the less the monster wants to fight, the lower its attack and defense are. if a monster doesn't want to fight you, then they are weak against you"
Furthermore, if you're smart enough to keep the Butterscotch Pie up until this point, you can make his ATK and DEF drop even more than if you just talk to him.
If you haven't done it, and plan on playing through this again, bring Toriels pie slice and eat it here.
I know what happens. It remind him of Toriel and lowers his Atk and Def.

+Justin Mayo (Aulubear) you dont have to kill him if you are the pacifist route

No, SOULless Pacifist plays the same as True Pacifist, just with a little bit added onto the end of the ending.
*mercy button is destroyed*
Aight, aight this happened... this... this is going to suck aint it?
+Ultimafire1258 "I'm level 1 and I have never even- how does this work? hoW DO I ATTACK"
and the music is almost just like the one where you had to fight Toriel with. Great.
*Goat man with a fork*
I like how a Mercy button was destroyed. So symbolic. There is no another way. Only battle. Only death.
It also kinda symbolises that Asgore doesn't want mercy anymore, after all he's done he believes he doesn't deserve mercy.
dip with pepperonis mercy button
Rip in rip Mercy Button
asgore is like f*** mercy!!😤
He's surely the Ike of Undertale.
More like he thinks he doesn't deserve it after all he's done. Check the Pacifist ending if you already read his defeated dialogue.
So this is a Game where the monsters want your soul?
It's hard to explain but kinda. But not for a reason you'd really expect. It's very very hard to explain if you don't know the story.

what if you click to fight?
He dies and Flowey still destroys his SOUL to keep you from leaving.
how are you doing so much damage?
