I have a 1.2L petrol (2011) that has 83hp and does 40mpg in town and about 60mpg on motorway (because of the constant speed), it can be slow up the hills but when you get up to speed it's a great first car to cruise around in. Easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces and easy to park as well - plus i like how the wing mirrors look and fold in.
This version is an excellent car. I do not have one fault with it and regularly beat cars off the line and I drive it up and down motorways and I have never thought it was sluggish. One of my family used to have the Fiesta so I have driven both and much prefer the Corsa and it even kept up with a Honda over a long distance and on the motorway so definitely not slow and in fact I would say nippy and I have the points to prove it. The ride is much smoother. It has never failed an MOT in 5 years despite being 10 years old. I have only had it 5 years. In fact I have been looking to trade it in, just because it is 10 years old, but honestly can not think of another car even newer I want to buy hence why looking at the 2015 Corsa and that led me here but at the current time I may just keep it a little longer.
misfit which engine you had, petrol or diesel? What about reliability? Im so interested in this car... Having owned a BMW makes me go for a corsa 1.7 with 131 HP. Still dont know.
I've got one of these and it does not feel sluggish on motorways or picking up speed at all. 2000rpm to 4000rpm you really feel the power of the turbo.
JustPlay247 yeh very, my car from 50mph in 5th gear pulls to 70 quite easily and quickly. Murging on to motorways it has enough power to over take any car in front as well.
2:10 avoid the smaller engines? i have the 1L and its not sluggish at all. heres a tip. drop into 3rd or 4th and floor it. and its not vauxhall that does it. vauxhall just takes your money
Can't really go wrong with a Corsa. There is good reason that they are popular with driving instructors. I always find it helpful to look at who uses the cars professionally when deciding on a new car. if the police, paramedics, taxis, driving instructors use them then they are pretty solid buy just my 2 pennies :)
sean cuff honestly speaking its a good car with good fuel consumption but it does have some issues Pros:fast car for a 1.4 turbo, comfortable, nice interior, nice Alloys ,overall good car Cons:no usb drive, not heated seats or heated steering,no sat nav,the lever to move seats forward gets stuck so passenger can get in really annoying. its nearly 20 grand car i had to buy a pioneer cd player for my own use optional btw other then that its a great car iv have for couple of months i still love it hope that helped.
***** Thank you very much. I'm considering buying either this car or a nearly new volkswagen polo GTi. Im going for a test drive tomorrow to see how the corsa drives :D. Excited much.
For people saying wow corsas... such a slow car, it completely depends on the engine!!! You can have a 1L ecoflex that puts out 75hp to the 1.4T and 1.6T which are 120hp and 150hp respectively, and not to mention the Vxr with a 192hp 1.6T, the Arctic with 205hp, the Nurburgring edition with 203hp and the Vxr-r with 240hp!!! Ive owned one for 2 years and have loved every minute :)
WakingCobain just bought one, the quoted acceleration time certainly is not as fast as the car actually is. Usually will beat most 1.0 and 1.2 turbo cars off the line as it’s naturally aspirated and the torque is already there hence not needing to wait for a turbo to spool.
I have a 1.2 sxi 62 plate Vauxhall corsa and it's amazing :) my first car as an 18 year old and it's perfect, don't see why you would even compare it to a Polo seeing as a Polo looks like a dogs shit where as the current Corsa is beautiful, and with the darker head lights and tail lights, and the chrome tip chunky exhaust, as well as the fog lights, it's beautiful, as even is the standard corsa! So shut up corsa haters :P
Rented a 1.2L 5dr 62 reg Corsa for a couple of weeks. Rebecca's opinion is dead on with my experience. The 1.2L engine lacked power and the A-pillars were an annoyance. Everything else, great. Get a 1.4L petrol or the Ecoflex, and you'll have one of the best in class.
Is the Vauxhall corsa exoflex 1.0 litre engine any good ? Tempted to buy it but heard a few people saying not only struggles going up hills but struggles on the motorway as well ?
Azureecosse In fact, the diesels in these Corsas are not Vauxhall diesels at all. It is Fiat engines (sadly) with Opel badges. The original Opel petrol engines are of much better quality. I have to disagree with you on the Yaris thing. I think it is a soulless car, it has less space than the Corsa, worse riding comfort, worse seats. And the Corsa looks very much better. But but...people have different taste
Azureecosse I highly regret that I dont mentioned in my last comment that I have been working in the car industry for many years. Maybe you think it is something I came up with right now, but it is the truth. I know there is many common of faults on the Insignia, but the Corsa...no way! From my experience, I dont recognize much from what you write. The Corsa D has a very good reputation on the second hand market because of few faults(Something longterm-tests in Europe have proved). This is also a knownd fact for both Meriva A/B and Astra H and J. I know there are some people that only wants an A-B car. But my experience from the last years is that things have changed. Just look at Toyota, they recently admitted themselves that their cars have been too "booring", and have started to work with the design.
pahaha the new model Corsas are awful I've driven 3, and all of them have bad gearboxes, the car jolts when you change gear and is not smooth at all, they are easy to stall, they have those massive pillars that restrict your view at junctions, interior design is ugly, exterior design is ugly.
***** I have worked on these cars for 8 years, and have not seen ONE with a bad gearbox to this day. If I should buy a car of this size, the Corsa D would be my obvious choice. That is based on two things; 1. It is a car of high german quality with very few faults, and It has proven its reliability 2. I think it looks much better than all of its competitors both outside and inside. Especially the front and the dashboard looks very sporty.
+Nilufa Ansari I don't know if it's relevant or not anymore, but people commenting here aren't complaining. Maybe she was just keeping the rpm low? If you shift down, you should get more than enough power to accelerate to the motorway.
The problem i see is that many people seem to think that it is the old Vauxhall and that it is a brittish car, it isnt. Yes its called a Vauxhall but its still a german Opel. Seem to be alot of misunderstandings.
Oh man I'm so confused, Do you guys think it would be ok with 2 small kids at the back? 2 Years and 5? Its a 2007 1.2 i 16v Club 5dr. I'm going to see a Suzuki SX4 and this one... I need a small family car - cheap insurance wise. I've seen so many that I'm lost in translation.
orry for pointing out something i didn't know people were sending writing lots of comments about bananas revew wise i could point out that you could have told us a bit more about the car coz im still stuck is this a good car or not im 50/50 like the look not sure bout power wise whats it look with a tow bar ? whats best to go for 1.2 1.4 or 16 sxi sri standard limited ed ? h8 limited edition its not limited i live in small town there must be at least 100 white ones
Good car, handles bumpy roads well, the 1.0 l Breeze is a bit slow but, still quite smooth. I've had my AC re-gassed 3 times but the gas escapes after a few months. It's a good car for maybe your first car. Not for serious motorists though. I'll be upgrading to a crossover very soon
not the one i have,i had a golf vr6 170 bhp,and this one about the same, once the turbo is worn in a bit its fast, double clutch it,never have i red lined it,its all about how you drive it,overall on my review they are quick cars, maybe its a case of a bad egg or a good egg catch my drift
Nice review, I see they a run of limited edition corsa's. I think maybe you should replace the banana with a small bottle water or coke bottle and possible try young teens drinks like redbull or relentless, as I don't know many whom carry a banana :).

Well lifetime warranty kinda negates any issues of reliability. If it breaks they fix it for life and you can't say that for vw polo that make you buy a warranty.
I disagree. Many British people are well aware that Vauxhall are known as Opel in Continental Europe and they do see it as an American owned European car just like Ford. GM also have R and D department and testing facilities in the UK which means a lot of Opel car are co-developed in the UK and Germany. You should be more worried about Opel in South America and China where they are re-badged as Chevy and Buick, and they genuinely think those cars are American.
I've also had a corsa black edition 1.4 for 2 years, the car pretty well surprised me! For the money a good looking small trustworthy roadcompanion :) I even driven on the track ( nurburg/zolder) with it and had heaps of fun..lovely car !
Just saying what it seems like from outside UK. :) And yes i think GM is doing a mistake with the Opel, Vauxhall, Buick and so on. Should be one brand al over. But i think the american cars are built in canada, i could be wrong.
There’s nothing wrong with Vauxhall, it’s an English brand, iv had lots of Vauxhall’s in my 23 years of driving, currently have a 2008 vectra 1.8 Vvt Sri, I love it, and my dream car is a vxr8, another Vauxhall. Corsas are good but the entry level cars are underpowered, sris and vxrs are very good.

My girlfriend habe it and it’s SLOW car! 69hp wtf its feeling like 30 hp
JOKER-MKD Maybe it depends if she has the 1.2 or 1.4 and also her driving style.
for some random reason I find the Vauxhall logo more appealing on a car than the Opel logo.
Bought Corsa SXi 1.2… BRILLIANT! Very Nippy… and is really fun to drive! defo recommend this car!
nippy? loool the 1.2 are underpowered
Why banana"s so important in a car.??? Confused
Come on dont be so naive.... traffic jams can be very boring....
In her case very boring she gots two of them....
Do you really want to die of hunger while driving ? its super important
Freudian maybe?
😏😂😂
I always look to see where i can store my several bananas and coffee cups in a car
I've got one of these and it does not feel sluggish on motorways or picking up speed at all. 2000rpm to 4000rpm you really feel the power of the turbo.
George C So what she said about the struggling from 50 to 70 is false?
JustPlay247 yeh very, my car from 50mph in 5th gear pulls to 70 quite easily and quickly. Murging on to motorways it has enough power to over take any car in front as well.
You have a turbo though? And a bigger engine size?
I love how cars are looking sportier these days even if they have a 1.4 or something lol
2:10 avoid the smaller engines? i have the 1L and its not sluggish at all. heres a tip. drop into 3rd or 4th and floor it. and its not vauxhall that does it. vauxhall just takes your money
Plenty of banana storage
ha ha ha.... that's what I thought.
they could've used a map, or a ice scraper thing, but no, they use a banana =)
It's a great wee car like, but the only thing I don't like is the way the indicator and wiper stalks work!
Mine doesn't have heated seats :(
I still fin it the best looking car in its class!!!
bought 2014 black edition with all the extras going to pick it up today so excited :)
hows it going?
sean cuff honestly speaking its a good car with good fuel consumption but it does have some issues
Pros:fast car for a 1.4 turbo,comfortable,nice interior,nice Alloys ,overall good car
Cons:no usb drive, not heated seats or heated steering,no sat nav,the lever to move seats forward gets stuck so passenger can get in really annoying.
its nearly 20 grand car i had to buy a pioneer cd player for my own use optional btw other then that its a great car iv have for couple of months i still love it hope that helped.
***** Thank you very much.
I'm considering buying either this car or a nearly new volkswagen polo GTi. Im going for a test drive tomorrow to see how the corsa drives :D.

Does the 1.4 petrol struggles with acceleration like the 1.2? Is there a reason to pick 1.4 over 1.2?
corsa 1.2 12 reg first car looking forward to passing my driving test now.
Do you still own it? How was the1.2 D Corsa?
WakingCobain just bought one, the quoted acceleration time certainly is not as fast as the car actually is. Usually will beat most 1.0 and 1.2 turbo cars off the line as it’s naturally aspirated and the torque is already there hence not needing to wait for a turbo to spool.
She has a thing for bananas...
I own a 2011 1.4 corsa Sri and even though it's only a small 1.4 engine I find it to be quite poor on fuel even when driving gently
So much for my day off! I Ended up in dumfries buying a car this evening! Sweet dreams 😚😚😚
Becka, you have got to be the cutest auto reviewer I've seen.
Great little Car for a runabout
Rented a 1.2L 5dr 62 reg Corsa for a couple of weeks. Rebecca's opinion is dead on with my experience. The 1.2L engine lacked power and the A-pillars were an annoyance. Everything else, great. Get a 1.4L petrol or the Ecoflex, and you'll have one of the best in class.
the term sluggish can mean different things to different people
Any others get this for a first car? (Finance) is it a good option
Try arranging a bank loan instead.
+Bishx43 I'm going to be taking my lessons soon, so if I pass I might get a Corsa or a Vectra. I do like the Vauxhall brand.
Is the Vauxhall corsa exoflex 1.0 litre engine any good ? Tempted to buy it but heard a few people saying not only struggles going up hills but struggles on the motorway as well ?
The reason why it doesn't accelerate that quick is because Vauxhall constricts the fuel supply for economy, the engine itself is no way underpowered.
He he: "acceleration in cup of tea making time" Love it. Move over Jeremy Clarkson.
The Corsa D is one of the very best cars Vauxhall(Opel) has ever built. In general this model has very few faults.
Azureecosse In fact, the diesels in these Corsas are not Vauxhall diesels at all. It is Fiat engines (sadly) with Opel badges. The original Opel petrol engines are of much better quality. ***** sounds to me like your just bad at driving a manual
These cars good on fuel?
This is a sport version? The styling seems sporty.
Thinking of buying one. Is good on the motorway? what she said worrys me a bit.
+Nilufa Ansari I don't know if it's relevant or not anymore, but people commenting here aren't complaining. Maybe she was just keeping the rpm low? If you shift down, you should get more than enough power to accelerate to the motorway.
+Sam Rogiers
thanks for your comment. I did end up buying this car in 2014. So far I'm very happy with and also experienced no issues on the motorway.
Can you please tell me more about how it's driving? How is the response of the steering wheel? Is it fun to drive, or is it more a boring car?
+Sam Rogiers Drives smoothly, easy to steer and park as bonet is small. Hope that's helpful.
It is. I'm just doubting between the corsa and the astra at this point
I wish for once that the comments on a carbuyer video are actually about cars.
I really wasn’t ready for that banana.
Does it have an aux input?
If I was going to buy one of the New Corsa D, it would have to be 1.7CDTI 130hp..
That is a blend of performance and economy
Have to agree,,, although I've not driven a new Polo, but compared with the Fiesta I'm in the minority of people that prefers the Corsa!
The problem i see is that many people seem to think that it is the old Vauxhall and that it is a brittish car, it isnt. Yes its called a Vauxhall but its still a german Opel. Seem to be alot of misunderstandings.
In a year of driving one of the least powerful corsa d cars i have never found it to be slow from 50-70
+Calum Evans She was probably trying to accelerate back to 70 in 5th gear -_-.
Isn't 50mph 5th gear ?
Materials are not bad quality, although all of them hard. The fit is where it kind of lags behind. Not so upmarket as a result.
Does she come with the car?
Oh man I'm so confused, Do you guys think it would be ok with 2 small kids at the back? 2 Years and 5? Its a 2007 1.2 i 16v Club 5dr. I'm going to see a Suzuki SX4 and this one... I need a small family car - cheap insurance wise. I've seen so many that I'm lost in translation.
Anyone got a clue what automatic transmission oil suitable for this car?
Can someone please say if the window tints are stock? Trying to get insurance and don't know if it's been modified or the car just comes like that
JB92192 stock
orry for pointing out something i didn't know people were sending writing lots of comments about bananas
revew wise i could point out that you could have told us a bit more about the car coz im still stuck is this a good car or not im 50/50
like the look not sure bout power wise whats it look with a tow bar ? whats best to go for 1.2 1.4 or 16 sxi sri standard limited ed ?
h8 limited edition its not limited i live in small town there must be at least 100 white ones
I have the same car it is such a good car for new drivers as it is cheap to insure
Dan Bartley think I’m gunna get this
What model is she driving?
lifetime warranty means actually "model's lifetime", so as long as they produce that model of the car. which for cars is on average 7 years.
Noticed that the 2013 corsa struggles to go up to 70mph after 50mph average speed zone.
Car featuring in this video...is it petrol or diesel?
Blu Jeansify diesel
It's the 1.4t black edition petrol
I've had good luck with GM's warranty program. The few times I've had issues I haven't paid a penny!
check out at 2:36 how much in front she has the drivers seat...
Own a Sri Corsa 1.7 Diesel 130BHP Quick Around Corners And Roundabouts
Slow in a straight line though.
anyone know if it has a start/stop system
yes and yes.
Yeah we really like the new Corsa!
They might do more than one review a day?
Good car, handles bumpy roads well, the 1.0 l Breeze is a bit slow but, still quite smooth.
I've had my AC re-gassed 3 times but the gas escapes after a few months. It's a good car for maybe your first car.
Not for serious motorists though. I'll be upgrading to a crossover very soon
I drive a 59bhp Skoda citigo and before that a 59bhp Ka. Had the 1.0 corsa for a week and found it dangerously slow
she's gorgeous!!
the 1.3L Diesel 95BHP 6+1 is alot snappier and better suited for long journeys
where is mat?
I think the vauxhall corsa is much better built than the ford fiesta, but the fiesta, is better to drive.
well i bought one on the 2nd December and what she has said is all true
.
not the one i have,i had a golf vr6 170 bhp,and this one about the same, once the turbo is worn in a bit its fast, double clutch it,never have i red lined it,its all about how you drive it,overall on my review they are quick cars, maybe its a case of a bad egg or a good egg catch my drift
HEATED SEATS! Mine doesn’t have that! Why are they obsessed with storing bananas?!
omg why didn't you show dashboard?
The Air Con in these have a tendency to pack up. Nearly always the condenser. It's position being the problem.
Nice review, I see they a run of limited edition corsa's. I think maybe you should replace the banana with a small bottle water or coke bottle and possible try young teens drinks like redbull or relentless, as I don't know many whom carry a banana :).
Lifetime warranties are the biggest scam ever. You need to have the car serviced at the dealer to keep the warranty in tact, which costs way more than it needs to be compared to a trusted local garage/DIY.
Vauxhall do good finance deals I give them that.
Year 1
All new Vauxhall passenger cars are covered by a one-year unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty with qualifying repairs at no cost to you.
Years 2 and 3
The manufacturer’s warranty is extended for two more years up to a maximum of 60,000 miles.
Lifetime!
After that, Vauxhall provides a unique Lifetime Warranty, available to the first owner for an unlimited time and a maximum of 100,000 miles.
Ive got corsa 56plate 1.4 sxi and its an really good car
Well lifetime warranty kinda negates any issues of reliability. If it breaks they fix it for life and you can't say that for vw polo that make you buy a warranty.
No mention about what it's automatic gearbox is like
I think it is so cute that you English still call Opel 'Vauxhaull' :)
It’s Vauxhall not vauaull and it’s British not English
The current Corsa feels centurys old, I wish Vauxhall would make a new up to date one
no she is selled apart.
if you know what i mean.
loads of headroom? Looks like 2 inches more than your height
Six foot? Not six feet?
Have one, its quite good!
I checked on car checker my neighbour has 78 hsp
I realize that, but the Corsa is a gorgeous car. We have to make due with the likes of the Chevy Sonic. :/
AAARGH! Reallyt good review
Isn't she gorgeously glowing in that red coat? I wasn't even listening until the banana made its comeback!
corsa black edition 1.4 (1364cc) manual petrol
I've also had a corsa black edition 1.4 for 2 years, the car pretty well surprised me!
For the money a good looking small trustworthy roadcompanion :)
I even driven on the track ( nurburg/zolder) with it and had heaps of fun..lovely car !
"The aid pillars are so huge"
Now people are going to talk about how this car should be called an Opel aren't they?
Beautiful car
to be one of the best selling cars in the uk, there's nothing to laugh at
I want a cup of tea now
1. Sorry for my mistake.
2. I'm a boy and I like her red jacket, she looks lovely in it so I don't mind.
You have either replied to the wrong person or have read the wrong name. Funny though, I like it.
Lifetime warranty....wait....what....!
Could somebody explain that
You and your storage medleys
I think it is so funny how she just TEASES us men (matt included) with the banana, throughout all of her videos! So cute.
Matt Watsonn
Just saying what it seems like from outside UK. :)
And yes i think GM is doing a mistake with the Opel, Vauxhall, Buick and so on. Should be one brand al over. But i think the american cars are built in canada, i could be wrong.
i say go for 5 doors better than 3 door
Now I know where to stash my secret bananas
There’s nothing wrong with Vauxhall, it’s an English brand, iv had lots of Vauxhall’s in my 23 years of driving, currently have a 2008 vectra 1.8 Vvt Sri, I love it, and my dream car is a vxr8, another Vauxhall. Corsas are good but the entry level cars are underpowered, sris and vxrs are very good.
Kristian Spencer what do u think about the 1.2
It’s called British
