there are several persons with long boxes of these in the US much less CA and they are the ones most attached. Selling hulk 181's in canada was tough because they already had them. Everybody was buying ASM 129 instead lol
The prices are so ridiculous they border on mass lunacy? People paying way over the true market value based on the last CGC purchase on eBay. The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide is the only true value guide for this industry and people are throwing away thousands or tens of thousands of dollars to to own a piece of paper that's slowly deteriorating because it was printed on Acetone paper. The industry should print a comic book based on the Dutch Tulip Bulb Mania of February 1637 and give it away on Free Comic Book Day.
It makes me laugh that a lot of RUclips comic book creators tell us about buying low and selling high... "ride the wave" they say. So how many sold ALL their books in 2021... 🤔 And I have a Warrior #1 I brought off the shelf over here in England. It's not high grade now... 😆
Brave and the Bold 28 is criminally undervalued. Low census numbers for silver age and a huge 1st appearance. I grew up on all of those great 90s DC animated shows, and Justice League was always one of my favorites. I have two copies in my collection, a CGC 4.5 and a CGC 4.0 signature series signed by Murphy Anderson the cover artist. Happy collecting SG
That's a good point about the characters not actually being on the Watchmen cover. Strangely I never really thought about that as a downside with that book, because the cover is so unusual and iconic regardless perhaps.
Also not to well known about brave and bold 28 it’s the first cover appearance of Martian Manhunter and first US cover appearance of Aquaman - great list
Great Pics! Especially the Strange Adventures ......... Add also, Harbinger #0 (Pink Cover Giveaway) in a CGC 9.8 and Definitely the First Squadron Supreme, Avengers # 85 - maybe FF#48 (if they do the movie, right) - Hulk #181 is also a book that sells, in any condition, anytime. buy an extra copy for spec if you can
about the same time? IMPO the market is ridiculously strong because ultimately it is a sentimental venture, not a popular vote. I've done everything I've ever wanted to do in life on this planet at least because of comic books for over 40 years. the market is subjective and supply and demand and all the metrics do not apply in a bidding war. It's only about your space to store the comics is the limiting factor.
SG have you considered getting the following war books? GI Combat 87 (1st Haunted tank - outstanding cover). 91 (1st cover and another outstanding cover) and 114 ((Original). Maybe you have them. Anyway just a thought. Jess
Chasing the Thor portion of Journey into Mystery still, so 83 & 85 are the biggest ones on my list. Maybe the market will be low enough when it makes sense for me personally to jump at them. Certainly hope you'll have all the opportunity you'll need to grab those you've mentioned here.
my personal grails: meteor man #6 9.8 #1 9.8 BLUE FREAKING MARVEL #1 x-men #25 black n white cover 9.6 x-men #13 9.8 fantastic 4 1st appearance of H.E.R.B.I.E. 9.0 Static, Icon, Hardware, Blood Syndicate #1 9.8 slabbed going on the wall like in the fresh prince I have these poly bagged but i dont wanna take them out the bag hehehe
Unfortunately, we can't determine the bottom until after it's passed. Although the price would be less than "optimal" at the time, it might not hurt to try to grab it after the market is on the up-swing for 3 consecutive months. At least at that point we can look retrospectively with a bit more data. It's possible that may be in April or so, but that's only a guess on my part. I can say that just last week I was finally able to sell off some stocks (without taking a loss) that I've been sitting on for 3 years. Also, we'll be in an election year so there's some historical evidence of correlation to improved markets in election years. As for myself, I have to go after X-Men 94 (another book with a terrible cover). It's the last book I need to complete my Claremont run. Also, going after the GSX1 since I feel inexplicably compelled to get that, although it's not a part of the main series.
Man, the Suddenly Squid Batman cover is one of my all-time favorites. DC seems to hold value pretty well. You have really good and affordable choices here, brother.
Great video!! Good luck with finding your key comics in the new year. I’m not looking for any key books necessarily I would love to just complete several runs I’m working on in the Bronze Age. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! 🎄🎁🎄🎁
I got myself a Special Marvel Edition 15+16 1st+2nd Shangi-Chi Master of Kung Fu for christmas this year. The 16 is already 9.0-9.2 and after a clean/press 9.2-9.4. The 15 is currently around 8.0-8.5. After clean and press it could be potential a 9.2-9.4 candidate. Found them locally in the Netherlands. Currently i'm lurking at another 70's key of a less popular character in CGC 9.2 or 9.4 if it stays in my budget...... fingers crossed 🤞 In the coming months/years I will be hunting for silver/bronze (small) keys in the range of $175-250. I want to upgrade the collection, get the best 300-400 slabbed and sell everything via mystery boxes for $300-350 each in 10-12 years. Let's see how far I can get as a small budget collector.......
Awesome I hope you achieve all of your list if not most Brave and the Bold 28 is definitely underrated it kinda suffers from the same issue as Avengers 1 because it’s not anyone’s 1st appearance but B&B has the 1st appearance of Starro the conqueror But hey while nobody is looking at it is the best time to get it everyone is buying booster Gold and ASM-300 Wishing you and your family a Happy Holiday
You should spend every dollar you have on Mark Jewelers comics. Yes… comic books with an ad for junk jewelry are significantly more valuable than the same book without the ad for junk jewelry. At least that is what the RUclips comic influencers keep saying. So yeah… spend it all on comics with ads for junk jewelry.
when i hit the lottery i’m gonna spend a significant amount of money on comic books that have ads for junk jewelry, so i can hob nob with other folks that enjoy junk jewelry ads as much as i do
@@shawnmichaud4484 not new to this…. Yet morons are going to pay premiums for stupid things… the worst being ads for junk jewelry. Love seeing scammers outmaneuvering the biggest scammers of all… RUclips comic influencers…. The source of the “high value” Mark Jewelers mythos.
the junk ad was thick cardboard that enhanced the stability of said comic(s) that's the only thing, except they also tended to pop staples like when you put a board in the CF
I picked up my tod 10 cgc 9.2 for 500 a few years ago and it's got white pages. I don't this the market on that book will ever get back to those prices in high grade.
How can you not have a watchmen #1. Have 2 raw copies both high grade. 9.6 is still respectable, dont really understand people's obsession with 9.8's. Comics are for reading not for flipping or showing off. Years ago we were not too fussed on the after market price.
That hulk 181 9.4 has been in the social media news lately with the ebay seller reholderring books that were lesser grades and sending them in for custom labels.
You're searching too hard... stick to the mid and smaller-size remote comic shows... I was looking for two years for two wanted difficult Keys... found them both in nice shape, at the same show, for a very reasonable price.
Dude, forget it. The fantasy you hope for it not going to happen. I have an ASM 5.0 and as soon as anything in higher grade shows up, I'll outbid you. It's not gonna come down. Book it.
Wait for 181...the Canadian Diamond will flood high grade copies for all of us like a children's piñata party.

Don’t buy a Hulk 181 with a custom CGC label. There are frauds running about.
Correction : Don’t buy any CGC books, there is fraud running about.
Facts
I would like to get the Punisher Max 1-22 by Aaron and Dillon. (Aaron is now completely useless.) Also the colored Akira and From Hell.
All slabs have come into question with the recent news!
Also not to well known about brave and bold 28 it’s the first cover appearance of Martian Manhunter and first US cover appearance of Aquaman - great list

Go after the Great Salt Lake Comic Con '91 pamphlet, and get the real Hellboy first appearance.

I'm a fan of Boston Brand! Cool books to strive for.
Love how much DC is in here, great choices

Just picked up a copy of Warrior #1. Really happy to have it as part of my collection.
I'm looking for that Daredevil #1. I need to it to complete vol. 1.
I’m finding lots of silver age at big discounts, now is the time to buy.
Just on the subject of Hellboy, I wish they would just do an animated series in the style of Mignola as much as possible, rather than more movies
Just got back into Comics myself I'm starting small with 80s Uncanny X-Men X-Force GI Joe etcetera then I'll move up to more expensive
Man, the Suddenly Squid Batman cover is one of my all-time favorites. DC seems to hold value pretty well. You have really good and affordable choices here, brother.
JLA 28 CGC 9.6 right now on Heritage Auction ending next month. Current bid $100,000.

I picked up an ASM 50 7.0 this year! Also an FF 48 and 52. (Both 6.5)
Personally I'm looking to grab an ASM 129 this year for sure, A Daredevil #1 and depending on how well my year goes, a Hulk 181.
I picked up my tod 10 cgc 9.2 for 500 a few years ago and it's got white pages. I don't this the market on that book will ever get back to those prices in high grade.
Hate to tell you...its come and gone
