Just bought me a set of those for my 2018 Traverse AWD. Mine are 255/55R20. I can't wait to take it out off roading and in the snow. This tire is just what I had been long waiting for...for my crossover suv.
Thank you for this video. Going between the Nitto and toyos for next purchase. So this was helpful. Great job on the Forester. I have the same year but only a premium
I got the Nomad Grappler too, they are great! I'm jelly, I haven't had the chance to trail test mine yet, but your video is very promising! I really enjoyed your test footage, especially the gravel road drifting! Just subscribed! You should watch my Nomad Grappler video.
I have Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires on my 19 Forester Touring. They’re not designed for more than dirt / gravel roads like in this video. They’re Awesome in all other driving conditions, even snow.
I recently switch out my stock oem for these pair and they're fairly quiet on the road. Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to test these off-road due to atmospheric river hitting California.
you should install the Ralitek mud flaps. also maybe the nameless axle back exhaust. I did it on my 2018 forester black edition and looks and sounds great.
I have the wild peaks on my forester , they do alright . Weakest point on this new foresters is definitely the CVT , agreed. Gotta love those Sullivan fire roads …
I'm looking for something that can withstand really rocky dirt roads. Not necessarily uneven, there's some inclined but the roads are even at least. However there's some really sharp rocks here and there, would these tires be a good choice? I was also looking at the falken wildpeaks at trails. 90% of my driving will be on road/ highway though. Once a month I may have to make a long trip into the country though. And I drive a 2010 forester btw, non-turbo. 5 speed manual, if it makes a difference
How’d they perform on looser sand I’m in southern NJ and we have a ton of sugar sand in our NJ Pinelands /Pinebarrens. I’m a landscape / wildlife photographer so most of my travels are lower speed exploring while off road. Thanks for any insight.
Good deal man. I keep trying to tell people the 245/65/17 KO2 is NOT the tire for these vehicles but because that's what they see that's what they do. Too heavy for zero benefit over something like the Nomad Grappler or AT Trail when considering the limits of the Forester or a Rav4 or something of that nature. And the 235/65/17 size is really the sweet spot. Almost all the clearance of the 245 without the need for spacers or offset and much lighter.
I have the wild peaks now, they are approaching their wear indicators, they are at 40k miles now, so their 65k warranty is ambitious at best. I am debating between these, the wild peaks again, the BFG Trail Terrain TA and the destination LE3, the le3 isn't 3pms but has siping the whole way through.
Just bought a set today in Northwest Indiana for my X5 50i ...they get put on Wednesday went with 20s....I'll update we get alot of snow and ice off lake Michigan where I live on up til May sometimes.
Considering getting these for my 12 grand cherokee. Its a base laredo 4x4 with their base 4x4 quadra drive I system so its not really off road oriented but was looking for a good all terrain
Hello. Please tell me what offset the wheels have. Did you have to put spacers on it? I'm thinking of putting the Nitto Nomad Grapplers 225/65 r17 on it. I have the 2014 Forester XT. Do you know the offset of the original wheels?
All the SUV type off road tires are Pmetric .. meaning they only have a 2 ply sidewall. My Toyo All Terrains had to be replaced to to a small thorn puncture in the sidewall .. on Subaru's you have to replace all tires .. can't do just one! Was a bit of a shock to learn. But, the good news is that BFG came out with a 225/65 17"LT KO2 .. and I have them on now. These are 8 ply with 3 ply sidewalls .. the Toyo's I had on weighed 30lbs per tire .. the KO2's 40 lbs per tire .. identical sizes. 🤠
Thanks for the video. I’m picking up my first ever new Subaru coming from a Mercedes AMG, which I loved but wasn’t very capable or practical. My question to you is, should I stick with the stock yokahama geolanders for a while or immediately upgrade to the nomad grapplers? I plan to do some off roading and and getting out amongst the outdoors, but given my work schedule, I just don’t know when that’s gonna happen. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
If you’re not gonna be doing anything serious off-roading, stick with what you have👍🏼 my dad has the same stock tires on his Forester Sport and he still managed to get through soft sand at the beach in areas 2wd vehicles get stuck. On the other hand I wouldn’t suggest running stock tires on rocky trails where the trails east up and punctures stock tires. The All Terrains are definitely an upgrade but your stock tires will get you on simple dirt trails
It’d be cool to see a comparison vid between nitto nomad grappler and falken wildpeak at trail!
Preferably in 225/65r17 😎

Those Neato Grapplers are really something.
Awesome clean video! The Subie looking great! Those back roads look fun. Absolutely ripping through the turns! Congrats on the Nitto grab brotha🔥
Thanks brotha!!💪🏼
I so wish those kids were in the child seats for this test drive. I get it though; these are great tires for a mall crawler, kid hauler. Great review!
Great review thanks bro
"Knit-o" not "neato". Putting these on a 4runner limited 20" rims, glad they seem like a good choice for all around.
Are they quiet ? Looking for no noise on highway.
@@kota11334aggressive tread and no noise? Pick 1

How do you compare it to the falken wildpeak a/t trail you reviewed from a year ago? Since these nitto just came out, I might pick them up! 😍🔥
Honestly, they feel and perform the same. Can’t pick any difference. Hope that helps!✌🏼

Awesome video... which dirt roads did you go and where is that track with hills?
Thanks Israel! (26.2649300, -98.5834510) is the dirt roads and the big hills are at the old Mcallen mud pit (26.1670283, -98.2420193)

Hi. Thanks for you video. I have Subaru Forester Sport tire 225/55/18. Can I use 225/60/18 Nitto Nomad Grapplers or I need change the wheels?
Looks like it might be a good snow tire?

Hi, nice video. What lift do you use for your Forester? Thanks.
Rough Country

If you get the chance can you please let us know how well they do in the snow, mud and street. Also how much of a hit do you take on your mpg?
Im interested in the same setup in this video 235/65-17. What is the offset your sparco rims? With that tire size did you have any rubbing?
Have you taken the Subaru to the east cut and if so how did it do?
Not yet😬

Man... so many videos and reviews on these already... lol
How would you say these compare to the wildpeak trails, especially when things get wet?

which is the more aggressive looking tire. nomads or wild peak at trail
The Nomads are more aggressive imo having both. I did have a friend say they both look similarly aggressive
@@OverlandNomad thanks for the input. Yeah they’re definitely really similar.
@@OverlandNomad we’re there any on road performance issues that made one better or worse than the other?
