I watched a pod of Ocas eat a grey whale, first they chewed off the fins so it couldn't dive out their range, they commence to strip the blubber off. It was team work. Two would hold the grey whale up, while the others having greater leverage would strip the blubber in big hunks. This happened forty miles off Magdalena Bay, Mexico. The big male kept circling around, worried that we might interfere. When we got too close to get a better look, the orcas would take the grey deep and come up a few miles away. Finally we took off and left them alone to finish their meal in peace.
Obviously no humpbacks in the area to come to the gray's rescue. Humpbacks often rescue smaller mammals from orcas. Southern Sass That’s right. I saw Blackfish on Netflix about 4-5 years ago and fell in love with orcas. Then I learned from a TED talk that orcas are sentient, self aware beings. Yet another TED talk taught me that they have a limbic system far more developed than humans have. The limbic system is a set of structures in the brain that deal with emotions and memory. They have an extra structure we don’t have. Likely they feel emotions far deeper than we do but, at least humans can articulate and express what we’re feeling in any given moment. They’re fascinating creatures!
Amazing video! Can’t believe you got that on camera! Imagine what it would have been like with a go pro In today’s time but Thank you! Love every second
You can see the Pacific Whitesided dolphins come up to the surface in a string of blows.... the almost sad thing is that the type of swimming that the orcas are doing is called "porpoising" Loved the vocalizations of the Bigg's Orcas.
Dumbasses like you need to educate yourself first off you cant mess with nature everyone needs to eat second off id like to see you try to stop a pod of orcas
Christopher Anderson I think they are more agile, do to their size ,but the orca is overall faster? I didn’t think that would be fast enough to catch up so easily though
I love both of these animals, their so amazing beautiful living things, and it makes me a little sad to see what happens to the dolphins but this is how it is out the wild. It’s nature and gotta let it be.
@@tomflegg4227 😳🤣 While I happen to agree with you, the Orcas that are residents & only hunt salmon aren't doing very well. The salmon stocks are so low that they are starving & therefore not breeding often. When they do manage to produce a calf, most don't survive. Amber K well, if there are orcas and sharks in that water, then what do u think is in the forest? I’m betting bears, wolves, medium sized cats, other stuff. Just from looking at the lush and beautiful trees, it’s prob like that because humans the nature there is “big”. If there wasn’t a large ecosystem that had many predators and prey, it wouldn’t be a forest anymore
@The Alchemist yes because they know they are in captivity but in free wild a Orca have never attacked a Human in history. I was in New Zealand and was swimming in the water then 3 Orcas came to me checked up what im doing i was so scared cuz they was really big animals but they didn't do anything and swim away.
I feel for the dolphins' plight, but the orcas have to eat, too.Their hunting co-ordination is amazing and It's cool listening to their communications within the pod.
I wonder what is the, for lack of a better word, the mechanism behind the local orcas not feeding on the dolphins and the transient ones seeing them as prey. I am also wondering why some pods are "local" vs transient. There are so many differences between the two types of pods.
Many say there's no recorded instance of orcas attacking humans. Even so, seems impossible to think that it's never happened when they aggressively pursue members of their kind.
Amazing video!! But I agree with majority of the people. The music ruins the video!!! But wow how lucky are you to experience this and so close!! Again just Amazing!!! Thank you!!

If Orcas can take down a grey, they can take down a humpback too.
Gary D Flatt that would be amazing!
Flmkane orcas don't care while trasients don't. If you taste good to them your on menu size doesn't matter especially with pack hunting.
Milanka umm orcas kill Humpbacks to my man, no one is safe
3:50 that last one was probably the biggliest.
The alpha male I suppose.like in an actual wolf pack
Nehe Miah actually females are the dominant ones in the group so it’s more than likely a female:D
Like a submarine lol
Wow ! I just wish that the dolphins were just quicker or smarter because I love seeing dolphins, just not seeing them get ate up by Orcas, but those Orcas are just so majestic, even in their hunting formations. Wow ! What a site
Someday, they will figure out humans are easy pick in water.
We probably taste nasty considering what we eat. Orcas are picky eaters.
Oh my gosh look at the size of the male they have with them!! I would love to see something like this up close! Whales and dolphins are absolutely fascinating animals! The area you live in looks like heaven!!
Until you get 20cm spiders, venomous snakes and other animals that will kill you around your house and neighbourhood.
Nahh i'll take my safe europe as a home anytime
@@menknurlan 😂😂
Wade It’s on my bucket list. I want to see Alaska once at least because I want to see orcas and dolphins out in the wild! Refuse to pay Sea World a dime. Sea World is an evil company.
I just found out recently killed whales aren’t actually whales they are dolphins
I disliked and then changed to like. I was more sad for the dolphins first but this is amazing footage and deserves gratitude. Thanks for sharing
Stephen Ashe you disliked a video due to nature?
Stephen Ashe ur an idiot along with the other 20 people who liked ur comment
Amazing video! Can’t believe you got that on camera! Imagine what it would have been like with a go pro In today’s time but Thank you! Love every second
Why did u add this loud music dear...
Shut up idiot
@@DATDUDE2024 no you shut up, idiot.
I though you used huge volume
@@DATDUDE2024 did I ask ur name??? 😂😂😂 then y are you announcing ur name, but u have strange name 'idiot'
The music made it hard to watch, took away from the quality for sure.
You can see the Pacific Whitesided dolphins come up to the surface in a string of blows.... the almost sad thing is that the type of swimming that the orcas are doing is called "porpoising" Loved the vocalizations of the Bigg's Orcas.
Why sad they both are porpoises?
Thank you so much! What an awesome experience! The sounds are absolutely stunning! All the very best to you. JC.
You got some awsome still photos. Love the music. Thanks for posting
Animal: Hey human help me im getting eaten alife!
Human: Wait let me get my camera
Dumbasses like you need to educate yourself first off you cant mess with nature everyone needs to eat second off id like to see you try to stop a pod of orcas
8 tons of pure power against three young ppl in a boat...... Wanna see that
I thought dolphins were faster
Christopher Anderson I think they are more agile, do to their size ,but the orca is overall faster? I didn’t think that would be fast enough to catch up so easily though
@@Ty-ru1zh maybe they had some sort of formation to trap them.
The more a cetacean is big, the more it's fast
Orcas are Dolphins. Dolphins are f as stern then Whales. Also Orcas are smart and corner prey
Who else got this on their recommended for no reason?
Probably got this from watching too much Seal videos😂
I love both of these animals, their so amazing beautiful living things, and it makes me a little sad to see what happens to the dolphins but this is how it is out the wild. It’s nature and gotta let it be.
Well tbf most orcas only hunt salmon, these guys are dicks
@@tomflegg4227 😳🤣 While I happen to agree with you, the Orcas that are residents & only hunt salmon aren't doing very well. The salmon stocks are so low that they are starving & therefore not breeding often. When they do manage to produce a calf, most don't survive. These guys may be dicks by eating mammals, but they are doing SO much better than the resident pod. Way to go humans & this whole salmon kick everyone is on. We are the real dicks...
dolphins do exact same to smaller species..orcas just a big dolphin.
Yes. Saw the movie the Cove? See the difference between humans and orcas?
Great video but the music needs to go.
Nope. I like the music. It fits nicely.
+DoubleDogDare54 Good to know, I'm just writing an email to the elders of the Internet to make them aware of your love for this music too.
I'll let you know when they reply!
lol

James Ritter you need help
Were the calls that you were recording via hydrophone? I would love to hear audio of just the calls. It's so beautiful
They did so many parts in slow motion, except for the actual kill 😒
Dolphins sees human surrounded by sharks:
Dolphin saves human
Humans sees dolphins surrounded by killer whales:
*Starts recording*
How could a human save dolphins from a pod of orcas lol
Lol....there is 400 dolphins...
@@noodlesinit2178 just fish those orcas out of water
@@noodlesinit2178 *whale them out
@@allengeorge5364 lol also *dolphin them out since orcas aren't actually whales XD
Thanks for sharing no idea what the dislikes are about. You filmed nature in the raw and put some good stills and film together well done.
paulanson100 🎶
Great video but kill the music next...please!
Dexter Crichlow CUT THE SOUND OFF
It's like a bad Christian rock song instrumental at 120% volume 😂
Music was perfect!
@@ricpowers1475
Most of the losers that's complaining about the music are just jumping on the band wagon with everybody else just to knock on the video maker as if the music sooooooo so terrible, and it's not...
@@claydogmadman6295 No.it is.
Thanks for sharing this awesome moment, it’s an amazing planet we live on and these videos really do demonstrate it. WOW !
Gosh, nature can be so cruel....... I'm fascinated by both species but is heart broken for the dolphins.... Those killer whales displayed a lot of aggression.
Looking around at the scenery I wouldn’t expect orcas to be in that water or Dolphins I thought blue like pretty oceans lol that’s water looks green n it looks like a huge camping ground
That’s definitely not a safe place to camp bro, it’s actually really dangerous to even go into that forest
Scoobs Shrooms why is the Forest dangerous
Amber K well, if there are orcas and sharks in that water, then what do u think is in the forest? I’m betting bears, wolves, medium sized cats, other stuff. Just from looking at the lush and beautiful trees, it’s prob like that because humans the nature there is “big”. If there wasn’t a large ecosystem that had many predators and prey, it wouldn’t be a forest anymore
Amber K also considering there are orcas and even dolphins, it might be Alaska, and Alaska isn’t a place you go camping. Well, it’s not a good idea.
McDonalds was closed that day so they went to Denny's instead.
Hans von Grimm actually Sizzler, they were eating seafood.
Orcas even eat polar bears when they catch them. Its nuts.
@The Alchemist yes because they know they are in captivity but in free wild a Orca have never attacked a Human in history. I was in New Zealand and was swimming in the water then 3 Orcas came to me checked up what im doing i was so scared cuz they was really big animals but they didn't do anything and swim away.
Leaving full and content, the Killer Whales sang in harmony:
"If you knew Sushi like I knew Sushi
Then you'd eat Sushi like I ate Sushi!" 😋
I feel for the dolphins' plight, but the orcas have to eat, too.Their hunting co-ordination is amazing and It's cool listening to their communications within the pod.
I rather them eat white sharks instead.
Pamela Torres oh they do that n all
The song choice to lead up to the hunt was epic .
Yeh! what kind of chant and music is that? it sound like a great evil is about to occur!
@@chinedumonuora1557 that is indian classical music and it is indeed related to some catastrophe
I would have loved to hear the splashing and the sounds of nature rather than the music
I wonder what is the, for lack of a better word, the mechanism behind the local orcas not feeding on the dolphins and the transient ones seeing them as prey. I am also wondering why some pods are "local" vs transient. There are so many differences between the two types of pods.
The music made me go away.
How away did you go? Did you enjoy it? Did you feel high or just felt going away? Some music will take you away isnt that amazing?
Let's see......Did anyone MISS you?(Searching, searching, searching) NOPE!
Music sucked
well, 'going away' is kind of the whole point of sufi music.
MUSIC SUCK BALLS
PETA is filing a class action against the orcas on behalf of the dolphins.
*........SO YOUR SAYING THAT PETA WANTS ACTUAL PREDATORS TO BE "VEGAN" NOW...,* I swear Peta is gonna be responsible for earth's downfall.
Thank you PETA!
WTF Orcas and Dolphins in a lake....?!?!?!?!
I have to change my knowledge about their habitat :D
They ate their cousins. I wonder if a human ever ate a neanderthal or vise versa.
Many say there's no recorded instance of orcas attacking humans. Even so, seems impossible to think that it's never happened when they aggressively pursue members of their kind.
Jose H no records of an attack in the wild. only attacks have been while they were caged in those tanks.
we're too small, we prolly dnt even taste good, sharks avoid eating us too
Get rid of the music
@Alexandra Ashborn that comment makes no sense wtf
The music is good lol
Agree, so much fucking around and not one dolphin killed on camera.
Horrible music
I just lowered all my volume
For those screaming cannibalism: cows are mammals, humans are mammals so are we cannibalistic?
@NoPain NoGain orcas and bottlenose dolphins are also different species 🤭🤷♂️
@NoPain NoGain I think you should look up the definition of cannibalism but sure 👍
@NoPain NoGain obviously kiddo but remember; knowledge is power
@NoPain NoGain still not cannibalism. NEXT
So beautiful to see that large orca with its straight fin...instead of the bent over fins of the orcas being forced to live miserably in captivity.
Amazing video!! But I agree with majority of the people. The music ruins the video!!! But wow how lucky are you to experience this and so close!! Again just Amazing!!! Thank you!!
What is the location of echo bay ? Looks amazing !!!
Liked the video but the music choice was horrendous
the music is OK
Where is this?? The water looks like a lake not an ocean
