Fun lore tidbit: Skulltaker has been defeated once. Skulltaker challenged and attempted to take the skull of Sigmar, (back when Sigmar was still a mortal), and was bonked so hard by the Heldenhammer that he was banished back to the Chaos realm and received a permanent scar from the blow. Skulltaker has been absolutely bent about the loss ever since, and dreams of the day he can seek his revenge and take the skull of Sigmar that he was denied so many millennia ago.
Tip for playing Khorne ... attack, attack, attack, attack, attack, attack, attack, attack, attack, ATTACK!! Someone offers peace, say no. Then attack again, followed up by attacking. Then attack. Oh, and if you hadn't figured it out, then attack after that. Attack some more, just for fun, followed by another attack, and round off with an attack. Always attack. Also ... a name suggestion: a unit of bloodletters, call them "The Defenders" just to have a group of moody, goth or emo, teenaged bloodletters in your army. Because all teenagers are contrarians.
The three turn cooldown thing on razing settlements was meant as a quality-of-life benefit for Khorne - keeps other factions from snatching ruins out from under you before that auto-colonise mechanic has a chance to kick in.
Lore bit on Skulltaker’s real name: He is the Daemon called U’Zhul. Not to be confused with the Bloodthirster embedded into Archaon’s Slayer of Kings sword, U’Zhul the Skulltaker is the greatest of Khorne’s Bloodletters, and would very much kick U’Zhul the Bloodthirster up the brass citadel, and has only ever lost one dual in his lifetimes, and that was to Sigmar Heldenhammer himself.
My vote would be to save Tim for a bloodspeaker, as that’s a support lord with an aoe cast, the closest Khorne gets to an enchanter. Plus there are several named heroes to get which would probably be better in Skulltakers’ army than a generic bloodreaper.
UNIT NAME SUGGESTIONS Bloodthirster - "Discount Skarbrand" (just in case Skarbrand can't be confederated, what with Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords not being available.) Skullcannon - "Khorne's Kaboom" Khorne Warriors OR Chosen with Duel Weapons - "Question Axekers" I will also second a unit being called "Khorne Flakes", as I am certain that will have already been suggested.
Lionheart, a few tips I noticed from the start. On the capture settlement and control a province missions you could raise them for skulls and the mission would complete when they auto-colonize. Corruption is your friend in colonization because it improves the chances for colonization which makes cultists really helpful. Cultists also give some nice replenishment which helps keep your army going. Love the series!
Your army would really benefit from a cultist since they increase replenishment. Also, using the cultist to make a cult in areas you intend to be in for awhile really helps as well. When playing Skarbrand I never take any tomb king territory since he doesn't like desert. Instead, I start putting cults in all their settlements (with some magnus ones) and just have one or two armies constantly rotating through beating the crap out of them and sacking every city. Levels them quickly, keeps corruption high, and with the right cult buildings brings in ludicrous money and skulls. So I would recommend using the desert coastline of lustria where there are some tomb kings as your cult and sack province to level new lords and heroes and bring in cash and skulls.
So excited for this DLC. I haven't played a Khorne campaign since my RoC one at the release of TW:W3, Greenskins have been one of my favorite races since TW:W1, and I really enjoyed my couple of campaigns with Ogre's in battles so I'm happy to see their campaign mechanics getting some much needed love. Best to you, the Lady, Cubheart, and Cubheartx2!
Let's go definitely playing as my favourite chaos God can't wait to see how this series turns out😊 Infantry khorns shredders Archers skull bows Cav lionhearts bane Tim the skull enchanter Artillery (if any) khornes blood shot😊😊😊
Something you might not realize about bloodshrines is that they (and skullcannons) heal in melee combat so they are not as tanky as they seem. Plus they provide bonuses for units around it so if you want your Bloodreaper hero to be a buffer, I'd suggest to give him the bloodshrine mount.
I'd look to getting Skulltaker some ward saves. He definitely needs to get him buffed asap through his 3rd line. I'm getting this LL and playing the FLC lord as well! I can't wait for the DLC! Thank you for your hardwork Lion!! 🎉🎉
Skulls for the skull throne!!! Also, when playimg khorne, dont worry about your economy, you get enough gold from post battle loot to keep you from going bankrupt
Name suggestion for Tim! A cultist of Khorne named "Tim the Blood Enhancer" since khorne aint a magic lover! love the content, and cant wait to see the other campaigns! However if ye use the Blood reaper, why not name him Tim the Skull Enhancer? since he is Skulltakers best mate, helpin collect skulls for that cloak?
Keep up the great series LionHeart, couple name suggestions for either Bloodletter units: Sanguine Revelers The Blood Thinners Heralds of Anemia Hemophiliac Enthusiasts Adversaries of Sigmar Exsanguinators of Khorne Reikland Ravagers and lastly if you recruit any human units The Blood Iron Men
You want to use the first unholy manifestation to reach an army or settlements. I used it to take out 3 provinces in a single turn when I couldn't reach the last one
For any unit of Bloodletters: "Blood, Actually". Here's the scene - Skulltaker, just outside your window with a series of prepared cards, each more descriptive than the last regarding his plans to win over your skull.
Hello @lionheartx10, i followed you channel for over 10 years now, you have been making great content since then, and still you re keeping like that ! Here are some units name suggestion for Bloodleters of Khorne: Goreblades of Khorne, Skullbearers of Khorne, Infernal Butchers, The Hellblade host and for the exalted ones: Chosen Reapers of Khorne, Fury of the Brass Throne, Bringers of Eternal Carnage
I vote Brentonians for if you go after minor lizardmen faction that might trigger the giraffe go after you when you can only have one army at the moment
an exalted bloodletter unit could maybe be called something along the lines of the skullgetters, skullgetters of khorne or U'Zhuls skullgetters (U'Zhul since that is skulltakers name in 40k)?
You might want to go to the northern chaos wastes and take territory that has a khorne landmarks. Because in the blood mountain building line in the bloodfire falls province it think. which has the Machina Daemonium which gives a 30% upkeep cost for Bloodletters and Exalted bloodletters last i saw. So with the 30% upkeep from the Machina Daemonium and the faction effect of 15% upkeep for Bloodletters and exalted bloodletters. That's around 45% upkeep plus the additional upkeep cost from the blue skill line. I also suggest focusing into additional replenishment skills for all lords and hero's so you can be at full strength in 1 or 2 turns
Contest of Champions #1 Smoke rises over the jungle, the distant battlefield goes silent with Skulltaker's victory over the Apostles of Change. The scents of smoke, ruin, and carnage reach out on the wind. To Angar Helmsplitter, it is equally positively energizing and enraging. "One day, one day that will be me! One day, I will be the one leading an army into battle, into glorious slaughter," Angar grumbles as his grip on his paired axes tightens. "When the time comes, I will ascend to the ranks of Khorne's greatest champions and be stuck with guarding their supplies no more." Over his right shoulder, he spies the supplies that he was assigned to guard, for a moment, he just looks at them with disgust and outrage. Wondering how a clear champion like him could be stuck here with this duty. There is no denying his skill, he had fought on the battlefield time and time again from a lowly marauder up to where he is now, a chaos warrior. He had displayed his skill against strong and skilled individual fighters and against numbers when his unit was ordered into battle against another. He turns away to push the aggravating thought out of his mind, but just when the supplies seem to be out of the edges of his vision, Angar turns back in a snap. "What in the world was that?" "Sir? What did you see?" You didn't see that?" Angar asks. "It was just a bit off to your left, and I'm supposed to have my back turned to whatever it was that I saw moving. How did you not see the flicker of something moving in the trees?" "I'm sorry, sir, but there wasn't anything there," the guard states to Angar. "You must have seen something out of the edges of your vision and misunderstood it." A low pitched and quiet growl is all the soldier of Khorne gets out of Angar, a clear sign of his disagreement, but with a job to attend to, the chaos warrior turns back to his duties and puts the idea of chopping this marauder in two out of his mind. The day wears on and there is nothing more to be seen that appears out of the ordinary. The sun sinks low in the sky, a crimson red light shining out across the sky as the last light of day vanishes beneath the horizon. As he is sitting in his simple tent and waiting for his meal to finish cooking, there isn't a reason for Angar to expect anything, but he has his full suit of armor donned as well as his axes within arm's reach. He stares into the cooking fire, visualizing the battlefields he wants to be on and thinking about what the soldiers of Skulltaker were able to do today and in days prior. His blood boils at the fact that he wasn't allowed to be there, that he was stuck with guarding supplies instead of fighting despite having done nothing wrong to warrant such a duty. Suddenly, his vision changes, and before Angar can realize what is happening, he sees himself standing before a ruined and charred gate standing before flaming ruins. Before the gateway, a herald of Khorne awaits him. The herald speaks first, "The Blood Father has heard your request, Angar Helmsplitter, and it is granted! You are hereby given orders to leave your current forces at sunrise and join a gathering host near Qui'ttax which you will have command over, but will also have to manage as well. Call it what you wish, your force, but know that it comes with a price. Something moves unseen in these jungles, and given your intelligence, you are to figure out what it is and then dispose of it. Success will grant you what you want, to be branded a champion. Do you understand your assignment?" With his right axe, Angar salutes, "Good." The vision ends, and Angar's food is ready to eat. He takes off his helmet and begins dining, his passion ignited and his craving for slaughter burning brighter than ever. He already expects a challenge of both martial skill and the mind, but he is up for the challenge! Yet even now, the pieces on the chessboard of war are in motion. Conflicts and contests of champions are never simple. Sometimes the best way to win against one's enemy is to not even fight them at all.
Hey lionheart, at about 33:20 you mention that because of the mission you'll probably occupy instead of sacking or elsewise. I'm not sure if it's a feature or a bug but the automatic occupation of a razed settlement mechanic gives a mission completion for whenever it takes it over even though it says capture and occupy in the mission statement

With CA's pricing scheme for the last 4 DLCs, I'm only getting them if they are on 50% discount. That's how I was, only recently, able to get the shadows of change and the chaos dwarves.
a cheeky tactic to catch a running army is, when u attack and they run away and you barely cant reach them again, perform a eternal war rite this will spawn a small khorne army that attacks you for bloodletting, BUT if they spawn near enough to the running army they will be pulled in. be sure you can beat them both and i dont recomend to do it when khorne is acended as the army that attacks you becomes significantly stronger
Hey Lionheart, 1. You can also make funds from Vassals and Try to make Rakarth a Vassal as well the Blood Hall Coven so you can build outpost and give them there complete province so they can produce you Missile Infantry like Darkshards (Shields) and Shades(Greatswords) so your army build will be Perfectly Balanced as all things should be. 2. When you have time recruit a agent to discover Arbaal the Undefeated and Skarbrand the Exiled and he is located at The Barrier Idols in The Southlands and why not send Tim to explore and maybe consider replace him with a Cultist of Khorne so he can train the troops.
Name suggestion for the Tim cultist: Tim Demongo. There's a villain from Samurai Jack, Demongo, who has the ability of taking essence of defeated warriors into skulls.
I would love to see Gor-Rok! Though, perhaps wait until the next update cycle? Or do a grimmhammer run maybe? Even after all the updates Lizardmen still kinda struggle to be fun. They're my favourite race from the tabletop I actively want to like them! Let the new team have a crack at fixing them and then do him.
Skull Scumpers! I don't know what they would be just that the go scrumping for skulls! Probably Bloodletters or Exultated Bloodletters depending on how much you like the name.
The unholy manifestation you used in the beginning should be used to replenish your campaign movement range. It’s good if an army is a little too far away, you move as far as you can, then use eternal war and move further.
In fairness to Skulltaker, the fight lasted for three straight days. He wasn't just insta-killed.
Which book?
The fight lasted 3 days, so he's pretty stacked

Tim the swordmancer could be a good name for the Tim for this series.

Tim the Sanguine harvester

Krazztar the Blood-o-mancer - Bloodspeaker

For the Blood Shrine of Khorne you could call it 'Kellogg's Khorne Flakes' (or Kellogg's if the name is too big).
Name suggestion for any unit!
Cranium Aquirers.
Noggin Keepers
Dome Hunters
Noodle Obtainers
For any unit of Bloodletters: "Blood, Actually". Here's the scene - Skulltaker, just outside your window with a series of prepared cards, each more descriptive than the last regarding his plans to win over your skull.

We've had Skulltaker, how about Veintaker the Bloodthirster?
He licks that skull like its an Everlasting Gobstopper or a Jawbreaker (US/Canada)

Hey lionheart, at about 33:20 you mention that because of the mission you'll probably occupy instead of sacking or elsewise.
