I have a WT with io3. I want the wheel controls to work and already have a Denali cluster. What’s the lowest Io I would need to upgrade? Io4 or higher?
I want to say yes but I'm not 100% sure because the cluster communicates with the hmi module and not sure if the hmi module needs to be reprogramed in order for them to work.
Thanks for doing all this and showing how. I saw your post on the GMtrucks forum and gave this a shot. Thank you!!! After all the wiring upgrades, new Denali cluster and new steering wheel my steering wheel controls will not illuminate. Everything else works perfectly. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks again.
Hey man I have a 2015 Silverado ls trim and my friend has a spare 2014 z71 gauges if I put his gauges will I get security or any bad codes if it’s not programmed ?
Let’s say I buy a Denali cluster or a big screen cluster for my 14 lt silverado it has over 100,000 miles so idc if the miles don’t show, if I just plug it in my truck will it work?
It might work just fine but yes it won't show miles and maybe cruise control won't work. Some say you need the correct part number for your trucks year, so as long as you get that correct part number for your trucks year it will work but without those features.
So what does programming it do? Just let’s you see the mileage? I mean you’ve proven that the mileage is still recorded when you plug in your old speedometer... so just trying to figure out if it’s really worth it to pay to have it programmed.
Programing makes it like oem with no error messages. Is like if your vehicle came equipped with it. Also on some vehicles it will loose features if you don't program it and I heard that some vehicle don't even want to turn on.

Cruise control didn't work, odometer, tire pressure monitoring. I didn't keep it because I was doing the denali cluster upgrade anyways. I already had the parts but if I didn't have it then I would have definitely keepted it but still had programed it.
Yes, it was used. The way I used this z71 cluster was only intended for demonstration purposes. You should not install a cluster without first making sure that part number will work with your car and for everything to function it must be reprogramed.

Is on here brother. Part 3 is the denali cluster.
$675 is the cost
ey bro do u know wich is the under dash harness to make it work the turn signals
Not really sure
from my experience you need to have the cluster programed to have it work in your truck when doing this upgrade. did you end up getting it programmed.
I did it the correct way, this videos are to show people how to do it right and to show what happens when you don't do it right.
The wiring you did is this just so the radio works. I only want to swap out the cluster so I have the wider screen on my cluster
Correct. If you currently have steering wheel controls then technically all you need is the reprogramed cluster

Hey bro ur connecter on ur radio is different from mine how can I get the same one but for my truck
Do you think this is possible with the io4 radio and also what pin terminals did you use for the cluster plug?
It might be, I can't remember from the top of my head. I would have to research what I did.
