Hi. sorry to hear what happened to your husband.. Luckily or should i say blessing in disguise the ulcer was detected early and promptly treated. It could gets worse undetected and bleeding silently until it's too late. May God bless ur family. 💙
Malaysian healthcare is world class , prioritizing health over money , for Malaysians in a government hospital , we only need to pay RM1 for a outpatient check up and medicine.
i am NOT a medical expert, but a GERD reflux partially means, he might still get acid flashing up his esophagus , some light chest discomfort .....just my non-medical advice. a) sleep with higher tiled pillows, don't let the stomach acid roll back up the ulcer area and bleed again b) eat small portions, and do not consume BIG meals... c) probably asked to chew some PPIs (which are pills to suppress the acid), that would cause indigestion for some, due to less acid to digest your food, and some antibiotics maybe for fear of infection. d) reach out to your home doctor from your country, for more medical advice/diet chew you food smaller chunks, for easier digestion....stop eating those fried, heavy solid meals for the meantime....Don't lay flat on the ground, elevate his head ....you don't want the acid refluxing back to the throat and damaging the healing ulcer again. Good luck, and stay healthy.
Thank God.. Things didn't get any worse.. My advise, maybe U guys should go a bit slow with our food.. We know it's definitely good but as the saying goes too much of a good thing is......
@@voyagesdiary Same goes with other ailments too. And as long as you're in Malaysia, don't worry about the cost, it'll be soooooo affordable and the service is still world class, most likely even better than in America
Glad to hear Dad's doing well after the serious encounter. Thank God he's OK. Did the Doctors explain what could be the cause of injury? This reminds me of when i spit out a decent chunk of Steel-Wool while consuming some takeaway Curry Chicken just recently. It's the abrasive blob of springy thing they use to brush & clean the Pots & Pans. Fortunately, i always chew my food thoroughly before swallowing. I'd imagine most people would've just ingested the whole thing unknowingly. If that's the case, it should show up in an X-ray if still in the system.
Doctor said it was possible from a mix of highly acidity foods. Lots of espresso (3-4 a day), spicy foods, too much orange juice, chocolates and other food combinations that created the hole
Reflux esophagitis is a disease where the junction between your esohagus and stomach (which is supposed to be tightly closed) become lax, causing the highly acidic gastric content to 'spill' into the esophagus.. it's a chronic condition.. not due to acute injury from ingestion of stuff..
Apart from Doctors care, you may learn to massage the area right aside the back spine - both left side and right side. From there you are able to detect the pain points/pain areas. Massage that area to enable the blood circulation on that areas flowing smooth without blockage. Best Wishes to Your Family.

I guess that is what happens when you come from a country where people are afraid to go to the hospital because of the costs. If I or someone else vomitted black, there is no doubt I would call an ambulance or go to the ER immediately. I hope your husband gets well soon.

Oh dear, my condolences. Wishing your husband a speedy recovery. 😮 Edit: Yea, I've got a friend from the U.S do the same thing too - when she had fevers she'd rather sleep them off and wait for them to pass instead of seeking medical attention. But you're in Malaysia now. It's okay. Don't sleep an illness off. In Malaysia here, medical services aren't as pricey as in the United States; so, it is okay to seek medical help. We locals go to the doctors even when we catch the tiniest cold.
