Muriel's Wedding In this movie the transformation is more like a slow progress throughout the story (not this fast stylist-makeover-thingy) and does not only happen on the outside, but also from the inside, as Muriel becomes more and more self-confident. But keep your tissues ready, if you want to watch that movie :)
Great comment, you nailed it. Most of these "transformations" are just women taking off glasses and changing clothes - they are already beautiful to the discerning eye - but Muriel becoming Mariel is a step beyond.
I don't think so: in this kind of movies, the girls changes for others, but at the end they understand self-confidence is more important. (Sorry for my bad English)
Cinderella was never an ugly duckling. Maybe her clothes were.... Part of why her stepfamily hated her was BECAUSE she was so beautiful, even in rags and while filthy.
eyes are the nipples of the face... so funny, playboy bunnies in real life are nothing compare to playboy playmate played by Anna Faris, it is a great movie, so funny and hilarious comic scenes
They should have gone with The Devil Wears Prada instead of The Princess Diaries. The Devil Wears Prada tells about the significance of the fashion industry.
+Melody Clark but I think in The Devil Wears Prada it was less of a radical transformation because the "makeover" was more subtle, whereas in The Princess Diaries, there was a dedicated scene devoted to the makeover. I'm glad TDWP was at least mentioned though.
I'm going to go with Strictly Ballroom as my favorite transformation, mainly because it's very subtle, and you don't notice her transition. It's like the bloom of love just makes her lovely. It's the best.
I'm so glad you said that, I was thinking the exact same thing. It's one of my favourite movies and no one I know seems to know it. I really don't get why.
I think these transformations are funny. It's like the character takes off their hat or straightens their hair and everybody's like: She's been hot the whole time! We had no idea!
The "ugly duckling turned beauty queen so she can overcome everything" is one of the saddest, most degrading trope you could think of. A woman's worth isn't defined by her looks or her abilities to conform to what is considered traditionally attractive. We should really stop showing people that you have to fit into a mold to get what and where you want in life. But what else can you expect from a channel based solely on blatant sexism, right ?
I see your point but in some cases you there are women who hide behind frumpy clothing because they don't want people to see who they are. Like Stacy from Phat Girls.
+BansheeDust Here's an honest challenge, watch the next 10/20/50/100 clips and let's see how many video topics merit that post. The way I see it, if we do a top 10 - feminists clip, - katy perry songs - cher songs - politicians - civil rights pioneers - one direction songs - etc video, we will get one person or another complaining about it being "feminist" or "vapid airhead" etc., but taken as a whole, it is basically content that a lot of women and men find interesting and entertaining. I personally don't mind the criticism, but what I see is how 1. biased people are themselves, 2. those shouting "diversity" only value it if everyone shares their perspective, 3. those who found WM to be of interest can't seem to get over the fact that a lot of women (and some men) don't find the WM content all that interesting and have, for years, begged us for more variety... and our "crime" here was thinking that if we just published the odd/token clip it would not be enough, so we took the time and energy to launch a whole new channel/brand etc to create the same kind of environment out of respect... but, still we get emails like yours. Bottom line, even those who didn't like the new channel admitted that yes, men and women do have different interests...
Jawbreaker is still one of my favorites. I still have the vhs and dvd. I still have Clueless, Miss Congenitally, The Breakfast Club and other 80’s-90’s movies
This just goes to show that a lot of people can be beautiful if they take care of themselves and know what works for them. The way they dress, how they wear their hair, and even a bit of makeup to bring attention to their best qualities makes all the difference!
Hi I loved your ugly duckling transformations, however there is one more that outdoes all of them, that being the one in ' Strictly Ballroom'. It's an Australian classic, check it out.
I personally wouldn't have made a separate channel, but I totally get why they did it. I've seen a lot of comments complaining in their main channel when they posted more female-centric videos. WatchMojo started out with a majority male viewers because of its original content. But since they started having more female viewers, it was a good idea to make a separate channel as these videos wouldn't have been in line with the tone or theme of their original channel. And look, I'm a guy and since these topics also interest me, I subscribed to this channel as well. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work!
To be honest Cady wasn't ugly to begin with. She just socially awkward in the beginning due to her being raised in Africa and not in the States, so she didn't know much about the dumb status quo.
Yeah, for the worst though. That's not really a ugly ducking to swan transformation. It was the reverse. Then towards the end, she mostly changed back, but not as naive. She didn't really needed an honorable mention.
The way you do it is to take beautiful girls, and dress them down. Then when you give them a makeover it's like oh my, she's gorgeous, we never new. Beautify an obese girl with acne, then I'll be I'm pressed.

In this movie the transformation is more like a slow progress throughout the story (not this fast stylist-makeover-thingy) and does not only happen on the outside, but also from the inside, as Muriel becomes more and more self-confident. But keep your tissues ready, if you want to watch that movie :)
I think I want to see it now base on your description alone.
Great comment, you nailed it. Most of these "transformations" are just women taking off glasses and changing clothes - they are already beautiful to the discerning eye - but Muriel becoming Mariel is a step beyond.
Great movie, filmed in Australia. Both leading ladies are exceptional in their roles which helped them became Hollywood famous in the U.S.
Can you please do a male characters version next?
It'll be on Mr Mojo.
Nope, just checked. It's not.
SupernaturalMusicVideos Joking
+STAY Young mr mojo!!!!! hahaha..
+SupernaturalMusicVideos yeah i need male fashion tips so i can win over the ladies
This video basically states that you need to change who you are and wear makeup in order for anyone to like you.
I don't think so: in this kind of movies, the girls changes for others, but at the end they understand self-confidence is more important.
(Sorry for my bad English)
Not even. They didn't say they are endorsing the movie concept, just putting them on a list. Relax.
They're just making a list of top transfromations. No one said to imitate them.
As if Laney Boggs was just an honorable mention. Blasphemy
My favorite is _Yo Soy Betty, La Fea_ 😍😍😍
It's incomprehensible how someone hasn't produced a film with this plot yet.
You forget nany mcphee she turn very beautiful at the end
Girlll.. We're not ugly, we just need money 😝
miss congieniality was one hell of a movie 😂😂
They should have gone with The Devil Wears Prada instead of The Princess Diaries. The Devil Wears Prada tells about the significance of the fashion industry.
+Melody Clark but I think in The Devil Wears Prada it was less of a radical transformation because the "makeover" was more subtle, whereas in The Princess Diaries, there was a dedicated scene devoted to the makeover. I'm glad TDWP was at least mentioned though.
I was hoping John tucker must die would be on this list
I'm going to go with Strictly Ballroom as my favorite transformation, mainly because it's very subtle, and you don't notice her transition. It's like the bloom of love just makes her lovely. It's the best.
Nothing here trumps 200 pounds of beauty.
강희건 that's such a good movie!
How about 200 pounds of make up?
I'm so glad you said that, I was thinking the exact same thing. It's one of my favourite movies and no one I know seems to know it. I really don't get why.
That was a good movie, and def a huge transformation/good makeup and fat suit. Very few Americans have watched Korean movies I'm sure.
YESSSSSS 👐👐👐👐
I think these transformations are funny. It's like the character takes off their hat or straightens their hair and everybody's like: She's been hot the whole time! We had no idea!
"The eyes are the nipples of the face". Hahahahaha 😂
The way I see it, if we do a top 10
- feminists clip,
- katy perry songs
- cher songs
- politicians
- civil rights pioneers
- one direction songs
- etc
video, we will get one person or another complaining about it being "feminist" or "vapid airhead" etc., but taken as a whole, it is basically content that a lot of women and men find interesting and entertaining.
I personally don't mind the criticism, but what I see is how
1. biased people are themselves,
2. those shouting "diversity" only value it if everyone shares their perspective,
3. those who found WM to be of interest can't seem to get over the fact that a lot of women (and some men) don't find the WM content all that interesting and have, for years, begged us for more variety... and our "crime" here was thinking that if we just published the odd/token clip it would not be enough, so we took the time and energy to launch a whole new channel/brand etc to create the same kind of environment out of respect... but, still we get emails like yours. Bottom line, even those who didn't like the new channel admitted that yes, men and women do have different interests...
+Marissa Wilson this trope is not new. Guys and girls partake in this. Want more proof? www.reddit.com/r/uglyduckling/
+WatchMojo.com
't you
+Based Hyuga with over 500 likes and 93 dislikes i beg to differ what you consider Mojos "majority" but have fun with that.
Highschool is so weird in America...
Aku Jo you don't say. ..
Sandra Bullocks was the best one......she looked like a supermodel after!!!
"you're a virgin who can't drive", why you gotta come at me like that bro.
All I'm seeing brighter clothes, a little make up and hair change, and A LOT of confidence in these transformation.
James franco at 4:45 tho...
Aint it, he's gorgeous!
Julia K
He's sexy dude. Sexy dude with a weird personality. 😂
Well done!
Julia K THAT'S MY REACTION XDDDD
I LOVE HIM, I'M SCREAMING
Sandra Bullock on that blue dress is perfection 😍👌
I love 'Moonstruck' & 'Never been kissed' 💜 😊
Cinderella was NEVER ugly.
None of the girls were ugly, they just weren't at their best. So I think Cinderella fits since her family made her wear rags and sleep in an attic.
+Leslie Taylor none of the others was ever acknowledged to be beautiful before the so-called transformation. cinderella was.
+Chris R lol fair enough
Jawbreaker is still one of my favorites. I still have the vhs and dvd. I still have Clueless, Miss Congenitally, The Breakfast Club and other 80’s-90’s movies
Gracie Hart from Miss Congeniality is my favourite!
I liked Julia Ormond's transformation in SABRINA with Harrison Ford
Pine Meadows Hobby Farm A Modern Homestead THANK YOU
Minute?
Pine Meadows Hobby Farm A Modern Homestead Yeessss!!
"The eyes are the nipples of the face."
+Ackerbae lol
If you're into silly comedies, watch that movie. I do love Anna Faris, it was quite cute.
How could you skip Pretty woman?
Marlean she was already beautiful. The list is for girls who went from ugly to hot.
@@M3l155a
that's in part 2. Since these are poll results, that movie wasn't on the initial list
Julia Roberts character was a hooker, not an " ugly duckling ".?
Thinking the same. Pretty Woman was one of the best transformations.
Mean Girls would always remain my favourite of them all. The transition in the process of sabotaging the mean girls was just perfectly aligned.
0:06 0:57 1:14 1:34 2:55 3:10 3:25 3:57 6:13 6:27 6:45 7:01 7:19 7:28 7:44 8:07 8:20 8:50 8:58 9:22 9:48 9:54 10:01 10:36 11:44 11:59 12:04 12:19
Cher kinda looked like Aunt Voola from My Big Fat Greek Wedding in that film
Lene Boggs should be in the list Rachel lee cook is so beautiful even when she's geeked up love her
AGREED!
+Charlotte Flavell that woman is flawless!
+Milla Suini she is and have u seen her husband omg hot lol
+Charlotte Flavell OMG HER HUSBAND IS ELIJAH MIKAELSON?!!! Sorry caps! HAHA this is soooo cool!
+Milla Suini u didn't know? lol iv been a fan of his for a long time even longer then Rachel he's done some great movies
lol I was about to be so pissed if Mia wasn't number one...thinking about what mean comment I would write... you guys nailed it :D
This just goes to show that a lot of people can be beautiful if they take care of themselves and know what works for them. The way they dress, how they wear their hair, and even a bit of makeup to bring attention to their best qualities makes all the difference!
"You can surpass all your insecurities, be a strong, confident woman who deserves love and success IF YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL" 😂
Hi
I loved your ugly duckling transformations, however there is one more that outdoes all of them, that being the one in ' Strictly Ballroom'. It's an Australian classic, check it out.
I freaking love that movie!
Enjoyed it too.
"UGH AS IF!"
I just love the "The eyes are the nipples of the face" line... hahahahaha.
Maid In Manhattan was another good one
HOW WAS CADY FROM MEAN GIRLS ON HONORABLE MENTIONS AND NOT ON THE LIST?????
To be honest Cady wasn't ugly to begin with. She just socially awkward in the beginning due to her being raised in Africa and not in the States, so she didn't know much about the dumb status quo.
+water6teendragon true but her personality changed a lot
Yeah, for the worst though. That's not really a ugly ducking to swan transformation. It was the reverse. Then towards the end, she mostly changed back, but not as naive. She didn't really needed an honorable mention.
+water6teendragon Also true
and how wasnt Lanie boggs from she all that #1.
The way you do it is to take beautiful girls, and dress them down. Then when you give them a makeover it's like oh my, she's gorgeous, we never new. Beautify an obese girl with acne, then I'll be I'm pressed.
Heidi Fedor are u saying a “obese” girl with acne isn’t beautiful
@@hannahlouise5179 that's exactly what shes saying
The girl might be beautiful, but acne isn't. That's the problem.
Hannah Louise well yes obese girl with acne is not pretty at all. Sorry to break it to ya
Heidi Fedor the obese girl needs to lose weight, obese is dangerous
Aww Laney Boggs should of been in the top 10
bryce atu Yass!!
That's a parody
Never Been Kissed 💋 😘 💕 💖 💗 one of my fave chick flicks of all time! I remember my best friend and me getting premiere tickets through our favourite magazine when it was released and we were so excited. Once we saw it we were hooked and quoting it all the time.
After that we both wanted to be journalists like Josie haha xxx
