- The St. Croix Legend Extreme is St. Croix’s top of the line fishing rod. All of their best technology is invested in this fishing equipment masterpiece. Every section from the rod handle, to the reel seat, to the AGS guides, this rod commands attention and respect. I plan to fish this rod soon and hopefully catch my personal best. I will answer questions and respond to comments on the video that you may have regarding this rod so please talk to me as soon as you watch this video.

Thank you very much. I do understand on the reality of having a rod expensive enough to qualify for a homeowners insurance claim in order to replace it, 😆. Like you, I’m pretty hard on my gear. So I’m a little stressed over how I’m going to handle this rod. That said, part of this channel is to provide entertainment as well. In other words, the show must go on,😂.
Since we have this vicarious relationship, if they are any lures or techniques, you would like to see you test out on this rod, let me know.

I like the Vanford . I have a 2000, 2500, and 3000 and they are all light and have a smooth operation . I wouldn’t be afraid to pair that rod with any of them. Whatever balances it out and works well for you. Nice set up !

Hey Malik, I’m not a St.Crox guy.(Gloomis) But every time I see THAT ONE…I always say to myself that it’s stunning. With that being said maybe consider to take it to a pro-shop or a quality expo and this way you’ll be able to try multiple reels and really dial in your combo.Anyway, keep’m coming!! All the way here, south philly.
I definitely agree. Once you get to the high end of these rods, there is a healthy amount of respect given to them EVEN IF it’s not your preferred rod brand. There’s a pro shop here in town called Phil’s propeller service. The name is deceiving because they are a tackle store. I can try one of their 75 different spinning rod models to see what works with this awesome rod. Thank you for that. Great advice. South filling I was holding down a lot of PhD’s in Fishing 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
A daiwa tatula lt or ballistic lt would be a nice reel for that legend xtreme rod!St. Croix make some of best rods in the buisiness for sure.
Great recommendations. I have a couple of Tatula’s LT’s in the garage.
The blank makeup is the same for this, as the Legend X and Legend Elite. The difference appears to just be the handle and the AGS guides, and I imagine the big difference in price is the AGS guides, those seem to add at least a hundred bucks to the tag of any rod they're on. Based on the Tatula Elite rods with AGS and the rods without. So I'm curious if those guides are worth the increased price or not.
Well said. That is the saga of commerce. We can have base models or fully loaded models 😂. The St. Croix Legend Xtreme seems to be the fully loaded option of the 3 top models. That said, Those AGS guides are compete very well with the top of the line Torzite guides. When spending this kind of money for a fishing rod, value is no longer an issue since multimillion dollar tournaments have been won with $100-$200 rod/reel combos. This level is all about using the best technology on the water. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
Great looking set the new background is nice. I have the Steez 7'6" MML. Malik what I would like to know what is the weight of the StCroix Legend Extreme? Also what is the taper in the blank.

I have the 7’1” medium heavy extra fast caster version of the st croix xtreme. Am I limited to only using it with baitcaster reels or can I put a spinning reel on there?
You are limited to baitcast reels. However that same restriction applies to spinning rods. Only spinning reels for spinning rods. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

pair it with whatever reel feels best with it. maybe what's supposedly the best or most expensive reel isn't the right one for it and doesn't gel with it.

Glad to see you moved in! You have plenty of size and weight reels see which one feels and balances the way you like. And if you wish step up to a reel with better reel. At least you’ll have an idea of the weight your looking for! Can always go with a jdm reel especially with the strong dollar!

It may be a crime to not pair that rod with a Stella or Exist. Be sure to check your local ordinances. 😂
😂😂😂. Just looked it up in my city, county, and state regulations👮🏿♂️. It is specifically a crime, punishable by a prohibition from Fishing, and confiscation of said high end rod, to pair the rod with any reel other than a noteworthy high end reel.
