I love how Nobuo threw in the opening bassline from the classic Final Fantasy battle themes at the 26 second mark. One of the best songs in FF7!
He hid it in The Extreme, the final boss theme for FF8 as well. I genuinely love that he made sure to keep the motif going
That's one way to value his own soudntracks on an entire franchise, I would do the same for sure!
It's definitely my favorite battle theme in the game. Probably my favorite theme in FF7 overall.

Love that there’s a playful undertone to this, even with the more sinister references to “One Winged Angel.” It not just reminds you of “JENOVA” but makes the fight that much more fun!

JENOVAのフレーズ入ってたり満を持してシリーズの通常戦闘のフレーズ突っ込んできたり個人的に片翼の天使より好き
ウェポン特有の巨大眼球があったり没セリフがあったり元のセフィロスの肉体らしきものが上から生えてたり造形もまた面白い
リバース・セフィロス周りの設定は結構肉付けできると思ってる！リメイクスタッフ頑張って…

After hearing the Jenova arrangements in remake and rebirth I can’t wait for this version to be covered.
That PS1 reverb makes all the difference!
Cloud, Barret and Tifa in the central party, Yuffie, Caith Sith and Red in the left party, and Cid and Vincent in the right party, this was always my formation for the Bizarro Sephiroth fight (I always evolve the characters to level 99, so I always had to fight with all three parts)
This is like top 5 in boss themes! Has the same energy as The Extreme from VIII.
Controversial opinion, I prefer this to One Winged Angel.

I believe that it's a good song that sets us up for One Winged Angel. Birth of a God is a more traditional FF boss theme while OWA is a big orchestral in your face final boss song. They both compliment each other I believe. What i really enjoy about 'Birth' is the slow, strategic sound that the song has and hearing 'Those Chosen by the Planet' mixed in too.
Still gets me so hyped after 25 years... knowing Cloud, Tifa, and Red XIII are going to save the day. :)

This theme is one of the reasons I think ffiv and vii are so tangentially timeless.

4 is pretty mid imo. No room for playthroughs feeling different, the pacing is bad, Zemus is lame, Cecil's arc ends early in the game then he's just a generic knight and the way the game treats mind control is really bad it treats it like it's the victims fault when it really isnt, the 2nd half is mostly forgettable, none of the characters are particularly great and the main narritive theme is shoved in during the ending with nothing building up to it
6 is the best imo. Full of amazing characters, one of the greatest villains in fiction, really deep, funny, well paced, interesting lore and an interesting world to explore
Let's see what it becomes in the last part of Remake.
Hate to break this to you but they copped out and make out the final boss in Rebirth; he's called Sephiroth Reborn in it
@@anthonychez688tho I wouldn't be surprised if this boss came back with a few revisions. Either that or a new form for sephiroth. As long as they use this theme, I'm fine with both options.
I was so disappointed they didn’t remake this song. :( I was searching high and low only to find out they never did it..

I think he meant the song. I love this song and was excited when he showed up, but was kind of a let down that they didn't remake this theme.
@albertovazquez6767 if it IS the final battle, it would've been played this soundtrack. But with Rebirth, it's just a taste of what's to come at the finale

And here is my #2 favorite song from FFVII (second only to Fight On!). When I first heard this, I knew I was in for a fight. Not because it's against Sephiroth, but because of the multiple party set up I was given. Hitting the core and seeing a 0 further added to the desire to defeat the mad man once and for all.

This and Staff Roll are the songs I truly hope will be and cannot wait to here in part three of the FF7 Remake trilogy.

You were supposed to fight with multiple parties in this? I beat the boss down so easily he didn't even manage to damage any of my party members. I completely overwhelmed with sheer brute force. I don't get it.

Not as serious as I was expecting. Which I'm not really sure how to feel about it. I do prefer One Winged Angel to this bc it better fits Sephiroth. This isn't bad. But its too playful which I don't love.
Eh, I'd say the more playful tune suits the first phase of the fight. It insinuates that Seph is just toying with Cloud and his gang. When OWA kicks in, it's basically there to tell you that he's done playing around.
