I was gonna say that too, he says it's not good in arena but if Paladin can play Doomsayer on turn 2 in constructed and have it survive I am pretty sure you can do it 10x better in arena.

+Kyrator88 The thing is that in constructed it's pretty common for people not to have minions on the board for a couple turns, whereas in arena they usually do, meaning it's easier to get rid of a doomsayer

Yeah I'd like to know in what arena games people have 7 damage on board on turn 2
+Kyrator88 They don't need 7 damage on the board, just enough damage to be able to take out the doomsayer with whatever they can play on turn 3, which if they've played a minion turns one and two is pretty likely. Doomsayer is also often used past turn two in constructed.
I had a fun game with Doomsayer, where me and the other priest kept stealing doomsayer so when the wipe occured, we would have the new turn 1. It switched sides 5 times xD

Sure that Doomsayer pretty well, but why would you need to clear the board when you can just play me? Theres no way they can recover from that. The good old tauntage absorbs all those tasty little Muster for Battles and my perfect 6 attack is BGH immune. And unlike that crappy Boogeymonster, i will stay BGH immune. What more could you ask for?

Kripp made an analogy. He said the cup was Arena, he then used a cup of water as a symbol for the collective knowledge about hearthstone balance. The analogy went something like this:
I have a problem with this cup. There's no water in it. Now, I have this bottle of water, and I could pour the water into the cup, but I'm not sure if that's the best way to fill the cup with water. Maybe creating water out of thin air is better, or perhaps i should place it out on a rainy day?
This is a play on what Ben brode said during his stream. Simply put, Ben acknowledged the issue of arena balance, but claimed that he didn't know if tweaking the rarities of certain cards was the best approach to balancing the game. Kripp insists that's the most logical and easy answer and uses his analogy to explain why.

So on the note of rarity. The rarity in Hearthstone has always been really wonky. If you look at all the expansions so far, most commons are more complex and have more power than most of the rares and epics and even some legendaries in some cases. Mechwarper, Ghoul, Flamewreathed Faceless, Secretkeeper of Uldaman, Anubian Egg, and a host of others that I can't remember off the top of my head are all perfect examples. And now with Karazhan we're really seeing the culmination of it, I feel like post-Karazhan Blizzard really needs to stop and think about their rarity system.

Well epic are more deck/class defining/key card (prep/shield slam/that new shaman 3-2/murloc war leader) or a really strong effect (doomsayer/ancient of war/doom...) pr some time just really dumb like that shaman murloc

Rarities seem to be mainly for arena really. Due to the lower rates at which rares, epics and legends drop, Blizzard can somewhat control how strong cards are in arena. You wouldn't wanted to have everyone be able to get four BGHs in arena, or god forbid, 4 pyroblasts.

It's not impossible, you often just can't afford it because it is extremely unlikely that it actually happens. If you are in a position where Deathwing is the only thing that could screw you over it is still worth playing around.
It's more like "I'm already winning, so I may as well try to avoid a board clear the best I can." The most likely board clear in the situation is Deathwing.

At 12:24, why not attack 6/4 boulderfist into 3/3 before healing it with lay on hands? could have a 6/7 after instead of a 6/4... and i can't see any two drop he could have drawn that would change the situation. Am i missing something or was that a misplay? (trying to learn, not be a dick)
i believe totally a misplay. at that moment i was just sitting and waiting for him to do exactly that and when he didnt i got a bit upset and cringy (not mad tho i mean u cant always see everything)
There's a reason Tasmania is closer to the Australian mainland than New Zealand.
So I watch the first game and realize when Kripp says he didn't care about the other stuff like the 2/1 minion he just cared about the mech synergy, why the HELL did he coin stealth the 1 2/1 instead of the piloted shredder. It would've protected the shredder and if he kills the 2/1, you get the divine shield on the piloted shredder and he almost had no answer to kill a stealthed 3 health minion. I can understand around not playing around cards, but no matter how I look at it, that was just a misplay on kripp's part, unless he was just super hopeful the guy couldn't deal with the shredder and the stealthed 2/1. Idk, in hindsight I think he could've played that a lot better.
