We call them either splinters or slivers in the US. The word splinter's normally only used for small wooden pieces in the body. A sliver can be metal, fiberglass, etc.

When i was 5 or 6 my mom would take me to a woman that would sow clothes for me. She had the most amazing voice that would cause major tingles. Thats my 1st memory with ASMR experience. Later, I remember loving "The Traveling Antique Show" I could watch it for hours (not a history buff). Then I stumbled upon ASMR on RUclips and I am hooked! I learned that this feeling had a name (ASMR). I am so thankful for REAL Good ASMRtist like you and Gentlewhispering. You are my 2 "Go To" Channels for my dose of ASMR! Snotters - bogeys ! Oxsters - boggin' pits. Skelf - pure nightmare. Jaggy nettles when you were wee - another pure nightmare. lol Bawbag - complete fud. Yaldi - just f**kin' gie it yaaaaassss! Jakey - alcoholic waste of space. Great vid, luv ya. ☺️
You could try a whispered reading, repeating, and pronunciation of the ipa chart, or what you understand from it. Would be an interesting take on asmr in my opinion. Though some would no doubt be bored...

Maybe... I have no regrets (except maybe a question of where scots launguage actually comes from) but I enjoy it regardless

Here in the US we call splinters "slivers" at times, but they're interchangeable. "Pricker" is used if it's a thorn from a bush or something.
I always pegged Scottish accents to be hard to follow, being an American, but you speak so concisely and eloquently. I don't feel as lost
