For all you youngsters out there, I kinda tear up because in the 90s, MC Hammer was the KING in those days! This man obviously had the money[AND LOST IT], but he had the endorsements (and rappers were hating), cereal, commercials, Saturday cartoon show, toys, videos, SIGNATURE DANCES, signature clothing, reality show on VH1[latter], etc. Glad to see him back in the game. Hope nothing but the best!

my recollections of the michael jackson mc hammer thing is back then for publicity for hammers new album hammer and his people put out a challenge to michael for a dance contest or dance off and michaels response was nothing he completely ignored it. i'm not buying mc hammers story i can't even find any evidence that they ever met or spoke to each other.

Tupac really wasn't dissing MC Hammer, he was highlighting that certain people are more likely to support a black person if that black person isn't attempting to improve the lives of other black people. Tupac was basically saying that they want black people to "shut up and dance" the same way they told LeBron to "shut up and dribble". Tupac just wanted MC Hammer to use his influence to make a difference, and MC Hammer understood that which is why the only Hip-Hop 50th Anniversary event MC Hammer went to was only to say how much he loved Tupac.
