laks true but the lack of jury meant that a) early performers would be forgotten and b) quite a few good songs but without the quirkiness would be forgotten. I seem to recall that Jade Ewen had a great song but actually she finished relatively low down in the audience voting, but the jury pulled her up, rewarding the fact that it was a very good song, well performed etc. I honestly think the same happened with Andy Abraham, it wasn’t that good a song, but it was far better than some of the others that have finished last in the past and in the future, but it was easily forgotten, not a race thing, just unlucky really, especially with no jury too.

Technically, it was last because it got fewer 12 points than either Poland or Germany. If it was under the current system, Poland would have been last.
@@nuovian I think the 2008 tiebreaker rules were the same as now. Currently the priority is 1) country which received points from higher number of other countries; 2) country which received most 12s, then most 10s, etc down to most 1s, 3) song which performed earlier in running order. In 2008, Poland, Germany and United Kingdom all received points from two other countries, so rule 2 had to kick in. Look, I know the UK has been very hit & miss in the world of Eurovision and we are EXTREMELY fortunate to be in the Big 5 (Otherwise we'd maybe qualify once every ten years if we're lucky!), but there was simply NO reason for this to have been anywhere near the bottom, much less in last place!
Um.. I'm looking through all the songs from 2008 cuz I remember I had a few faves that I had forgotten. And I'm glad I am doing it, cuz I had completly forgotten about this amazing thing!
That was in an era where juries were only used if there was a problem with the tele-vote, which there was in the case of Malta. So their jury gave Scooch 12 points as a protest against voting blocs.
Still watching in 2020! Loved it then and now. No wonder our beloved Sir Terry hung up his Eurovision hat after this finished with 0 points which was totally undeserved xx
As much as I don't like this song, it is a bit unfair that it came last. If this were under the current system for ties, Poland would have been last, then Germany followed by the UK.
Soooo under-rated. Such a funky song. Love that bit.
I will never understand why this song was last, never ever... after 14 years it still sound good
Especially in 08 when the entire contest was pretty mediocre compared to other years.
